Whee. Judging by Reddit replies, it's possible that the servers will allow games to finish and then automatically kick you from the server if you are still within the time period before the servers actually shut down. Would seem to make sense because I checked my time and it wasn't 1:00 AM yet when things froze up for me.
Arenas on average are getting harder for me. I've been having some bad runs. But as I lament about my inability to get easier wins and put off going to sleep, here are a few general guidelines I'm starting to follow in terms of deciding whether to rush the face or clear the board:
-While any class can have Shattered Clerics and Dark Iron Dwarves, clear the board against pallies since they also can have BoK and Argent Protectors.
-Clear totems early game against Shamans since early flametongue totems will wreck you.
-Against mages, try to fill up your own board on Turn 7 in such a way that they can't be efficient with their spells. In essence, on their Turn 7, make it such that they have to make a tough decision on whether to Fireball/Poly that Venture Co Merc, or Flamestrike those 3 other 4 health minions. If you can't do anything about a possible Flamestrike, hold back your cards and make them burn it on you. Same on their Turn 9 if you consider a Flamestrike + Ping turn.
-When you play a minion, always be prepared that you can immediately lose it and think to yourself, will you regret making that choice? This particularly applies to Mind Control and MC Tech so if you can do so, make sure you have the ability to kill off any of your own minions "efficiently" if they are stolen from you (generic example: don't use Cold Blood on that one super buff Questing Adventurer, put it on that 2/2 so you still have some damage elsewhere in case the worst happens).
-Practice good positioning. Pretend like you're always playing against a Rogue who has Betrayal in his hand. Stealthed/Faerie/weakest minions always in between your most important minions when possible. Don't get lazy on where you put that Silver Hand Knight; that 2/2 should end up spawning in the middle.
-And for god's sake, don't use Druid's Wrath spell to draw a card if there is no good reason why you can't hit the minion with your face. You will regret not having that 3 damage spell 2 turns later.
