So, why is Rin using Asuka's outfit rather than her own? Also, Murasaki's stage is so laggy.

Playing The Talos Principle; almost done with the main game - just need the last couple of pieces, then the ascent through the Tower, then picking up the Stars. If only you could put your own answers down to Milton.

Ayesha Plus came out today, too; so that's next on my list. (For those of you who give a shit about it; there is dual audio. There's also a Hard Mode that ups the damage enemies do and the cost of stuff at the stores.)

Didn't get into the top 3k in the Heartbreak One tourney; I'm not surprised, since I was often in rooms where one or all of my opponents were not bothering and flying their ace craft against my puny L2 F5E Shin Kazama. Not being able to use any Stocked Fuel hurt my chances, too.

And I'm done with Fate/Hollow Ataraxia, except for one or two things like the Hanafuda mini-game story that I have no luck with.
Amazing experience. Not of the same kind as the previous one, but I enjoyed it as much, if not more.

Off to TPDP then.

Also.

If you want to play Fire Emblem, it's usually suggested to play 7 (In NA, named solely "Fire Emblem" on GBA), 8 (The Sacred Stones on GBA), 9 (Path of Radiance on GC), or 13 (Awakening on 3DS).  Most of the old ones either have largely improved remakes (11/12 are remakes of 1/3) or are absolutely merciless in difficulty (2, 4, 5, to a lesser degree 6); and the last one remaining is a direct sequel to PoR and should only be played after.

I've been playing Xenoblade again.  I'm in Sword Valley.  I've been messing around with the team and I think I found my favorite combination.  I have control of Melia, with Reyn and Riki being played by the A.I.  As long as Reyn holds aggro, we're really hard to kill.  Our damage is very DOT heavy so it's kind of funny to watch the enemies health just fall off.

The main issue with Reyn holding aggro is that he's relatively easy to hit, which means that aggro goes down (which is why his aggro generating techniques are useful). Dunban is probably the best aggro character, as he not only hits hard but also has very high Agility, making him difficult to hit.

Really, though, I like all of the characters, as they have their own play styles that can be varied to a degree. One of my favorite teams is Melia, Sharla, and the final character you haven't gotten yet (but probably know who it is). I'm actually at the final dungeon right now, doing some level grinding so I can hit up higher level areas that open up late in the game.

Would I have any such quests so far?  The overwhelming majority are MMO fetch quests or bear slaughtering or whatnot, or possibly playing matchmaker/heartbreaker.  I do stumble upon things since I love just wandering around and falling off the planetgod whoops so I don't mind, and it's possible that the Really Good Ones are stuff that I happened to pass over.  I'm still at the zone where I got ye olde 7th party member so I can't fast travel yet anyway.

oh god all of the side quests. i'm doing all of them and i'm logging 120+ hours into it though most of it was because i would dick around a lot and stuff because it's quite fun

Anyways, you're about... three quarters into the game. There's still quite a few plot twists to go through with. If you care about side quests you might want to take care of the Alcamoth ones as soon as you're able to travel back there, though: you're about to come up to the cut off point for doing those quests.

EDIT: Oh also PURVIS GO STEAL YOURSELF A WII SO YOU CAN JOIN ME WOBBLES AND PHELGETH IN BEHOLDING THE POWER OF THE MONADO, YOU BUM

EDITEDIT: Oh right. There are some quests that you should absolutely do because they unlock each character's extra skills. You can typically tell which quests these are because the person giving the quest wants to speak to a specific party member.

Riki, for being the cute and cuddly mascot character that seems to be in every JRPG, is an awfully fun and interesting character.

The new Special Raid, the SOLG, is entirely underwhelming. Nostalgia aside.

Also, production line Morgan, the FALKEN, and the Wyvern?! If it weren't for the fact that it took 3m credits to buy the Spirit, I would be all over this instantly. Why is the production Morgan better than the Pixy Morgan, though? I'm likely to get very close, if not net all of them outright during the tourney after this one, though, since it's a F-14 Tomcat-only tourney. My Zipang will destroy the Round Table, though I will need to buy a lot of fuel to get the coveted Razgriz Tomcat.

It's too bad only the Album carries over when making a Hard Mode new game/ng+. Being able to swap in my heavy hitters in the field is really nice, but losing all of the swag between playthroughs hurts in ways I don't like to contemplate.

It took me approximately 2 years after it was released for me to remember that I had pre-ordered Guild Wars 2. :V   Why can't all MMOs have a questing system like this? Being able to walk into an area and be given a laundry list of things to do is so much better than having to run around and get pieces of the laundry list from random schmuks holding exclamation mark signs over their heads.

Though I'm still a little wierded out that Necromancers are apparently crap and Mesmers are gods for PvE. I'm used to Guild Wars 1 where it was the exact opposite.

Been playing Lightning Returns as a bit of a break from Kingdom Hearts 2.5.  I still have synth stuff left in 2FM which will finish getting me to level 99, the puzzles, and getting saved by Mickey for the plat. BBSFM I just need to finish Aqua's report and do Terra's entire postgame and report and get the trophy for collecting stickers to actually work since it's supposed to happen when you get them all with one character(which I obviously have since I have the Ventus complete Report trophy and have gotten them with Aqua also).

But I started Lightning Returns up as a break from it, mainly BBS, and I've done 4 of the main quests so far (1, 2, 3, and 4). Just need to finish Main Quest 5 and then it's sidequesting and extincting enemies for their drops(already have Niblets and Gremlins gone). I think I may have missed finishing one of the quests involving fireworks because I was rushed in getting back to the person to advance the story in time and now I can't find the person who gave the quest to finish it, also failed The Girl Who Cried Wolf quest because I wasn't able to finish it that day and was planning to do it next night, so that's 2 sidequests I'll have to finish in NG+. Did intentionally fail Avid Reader to get To Save the Sinless since I saw mention you get a garb for doing that, but I'm trying to avoid guide useage until NG+ where I'll use one to try to get all the sidequests barring mutually exclusive stuff.

I don't mind so much the time limit as much as there's so many events that have to be done at specific times in the days due to NPCs not being there at certain times. I wonder how much I'm missing because I'm not in the right places at the right times. Battle system seems okay so far outside of the boss scoring system which doesn't factor in stuff like Chaos variants, or Good/Great advantages, but I never really cared about battle score in any of the XIII games outside of the required 5 stars in XIII for the achievements and the 5 stars on the XIII-2 final boss for a trophy. My abilities could definitely use some more upgrading as well. At the moment, I'm leaning toward more liking XIII-2 the most out of the 3 games, but the original XIII is definitely my least favorite of the 3.

On a whim, I've found myself returning to and replaying the Wild Arms series.  Specifically Alter Code F because that has the most nostalgia attached to it, and I need to make a point to link that in the stream thread more frequently.

I finally got my hands on Valkyria Chronicles today. I've had my eye on this game for several years now but I don't own a playstation 3 so there hasn't been a way for me to play this game until now. I'm absolutely loving the game so far!

That exact sentiment is why VC beat out the fish: AW on the steam sales lists when it was released.

Got Punch-Out! (Wii) recently, will pick up Metroid Prime Trilogy when it comes out (again), finally at a price below highway robbery. (Note: WiiU only!)

Used the special 10% off code Sony gave everyone to buy a bunch of Stocked Fuel, and a few games that were already on sale. Resogun is interesting, but I keep forgetting to use the boost to get through and ignoring my bombs.

I'm almost done rescuing Nio in Ayesha Plus; just need to kill the Dreiteturm's keeper. With the Zweiteturm's one.

Elsewhere, why is Lectum Anima so damn far away?

Pokemans Y finished with a half-thud as I blitzed through the endgame like it existed and little else. Probly because the exp. share boosted everyone to insane levels and once I hit my final party I was just sorta done. It wasn't bad, but I just stomped on everything and got upset that the Goomy line was a specialized tank. :(

Continuing on with Bravely Default. That guy had 3 months to finish the weapons shop upgrade so hopefully he's done now.

Also playing Skyrim and Shovel Knight. Skyrim's so wonderfully easy to get lost in and I'm the type who loves to explore. Also its real easy to work towards busting the game open and considering how things get late game I don't regret doing so. Shovel Knight is great nostalgic fun being somewhere between Duck Tales, Mega Man, and LoZ2 but with greatly refined controls. I don't regret buying it when it wasn't on sale.

Despite the announcement that it is closing in April, if anything that makes me more willing to hop onto Grand Chase.

People have been expecting this thing to close since like; 2011. It made to 2015 and it's only closing because the Korean Devs basically say 'We don't want to support it's development anymore we want to focus on Elsword and upcoming games now instead of this 12 year old thing'.

So the BR and NA [/Global since they've taken in allthe already closed servers] servers have went 'screw it' and given everyone A MILLION CASH POINTS. To run rampart with for 3 months before it actually closes.

Now I never paid a penny. I was using free gear which is much weaker but could still solo the highest level dungeons with relative ease... if I had to be exceptionally careful or I'd get OHKO'ed by a lot of things. [I couldn't solo what's basically the bonus dungeon tho. That's a massive gearcheck because if you take too long you're basically instantly killed].

But now I'm romping around in cash gear. And unlike a lot of people I KNOW WHAT I'M DOING. My 'Total Attack' statistic has virtually tripled and I'm probobly the strongest Elesis on the server in terms of PvE at this moment [Elesis is probobly the least popular character because she's largely overshadowed by virtue of being the first melee character. And unlike the other two starters there's been a lot of other melee characters with new bells and whistles.]

Seeing people's reactions when I hit 999999 damage [The visual cap, but I know I'm hitting far harder than that since I can oneshot endgame bosses] with End of Heart [My 'Ultimate' ability] is hilarious because they've never even seen Elesis hit anywhere near that. [She has awful  damage output outside of specials because she's a tank. As in; her basic combos deal less damage than the MAGES] That said I do debuff enemies with my special Taunt first, lowering their defense and then aim for a Back Attack which adds a x1.5 multiplier.

Pretty sure the economy is also one such phrase.

Yup, it is.

Anyway, to be on-topic as well, just started playing a copy of Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate that a friend gave me(he had somehow way back when wound up with two copies of it).  I'll probably have to play it only in short bursts.  Did all the 1* missions and some of the 2* ones.  I am not used to a game where it takes me forever to kill something, so either I need to get good equips quick, or I need to get better or SOMETHING, but if I look for help on that I'll likely go to the more specific topic on that.

Is that a recommendation for the game?

EDIT: I just tried out the demo of "Life is Strange". Kind of interesting, didn't exactly draw me in like Walking Dead did, but I think if I gave it a go it could grow on me. Some of the characters were kind of hit and miss, and I'm not sure if the creators captured how a teenager is like these days (they seem a bit dated, like from around when I was in high school), but it's still nice to see the revival of the adventure game continue.

While not exactly a game, I finally, FINALLY was able to order one of those big 3DS game cases from Club Nintendo. I've always wanted one of those~

In actual gaming news, I finally finished FF1: Dawn of Souls, a game I've played in the past but never actually finished. It's a shame it was just too easy, the game throws so much EXP and money at you, it's very easy to wind up overpowered. Not to mention the new dungeons contain some pretty OP stuff as well (items that can cast spells for free, mainly).

Now I have to decide where else to spend my time...I'd like to continue my FF spiel, so I may play the PSP versions of FF3 and 4 on my Vita, or I may hope back into Persona. Oh, decisions, decisions...

Items casting spells for free was always part of FF1's design - but originally this was mitigated by the fact that you had a total of 4 handgear and 4 armors per character to carry total (including those you currently had equipped).  When you can just store it in your inventory and anyone can use it any time, it starts becoming pretty ridiculous.  And then there's the fact that your EXP and gold rates are multiplied so high in Dawn of Souls but none of the content is balanced to reflect that, and... yeah.  DoS is Baby Mode FF1 (but it's still fun enough).
