A dozen or so dungeons later, I'm tired of playing again and have a good enough idea about how spellcasting is best used in Daggerfall, so time to stop. My weak mage got competent enough to handle most usual situations, and for what can't be handled easily I got the ideas how to deal with stuff. High level spellcasters remained a problem since I neglected all magic schools except Destruction (all attacking spells are there, duh) and, to a much lesser extent, Restoration (healing, duh). Little wonder, since outside of anti-magic spells they have literally only one or two unarguably useful spells each, and even those were needed only on rare occasions. Well, extensive use of trainers can help with that at least partway, but it's best done early, so whelp.
That said, I'm DEFINITELY doing a LP someday. There's quite an amount of interesting random stuff that can be shown and I have a nice idea how to present it. Almost came to regret I didn't do one in some good moments, but since I was only testing how to play properly, it's better not to rush. Of course, it's postponed until I want to play this again, so it'll be quite a long while.
