Isn't Daggerfall pretty much unplayable?
Well, it does have quite a number of bugs even with the latest official patch, but it's perfectly playable for the most part. Nothing that a proper and liberal usage of saves can't overcome, anyway, just keep a few points in mind and you're all set. Sadly, the starting dungeon is an especially bad bug-ridden mess that may leave a bad first taste (my game usually crashes when trying to save there outside of select few spots, for example), but once you're out it's rarely that bad anywhere else. I mean, same things can still happen in other places, but they're not anywhere as frequent and you usually know how to deal with them by then.
...I'm actually not even sure why I got the idea to dig this game out again. I guess there's something in the chance to get a slightly better piece of gear or a cool enchanted trinket, even though you're not guaranteed to have any of that and you can do just fine without them. Sounds like the same kind of appeal MMORPGs have, isn't it?
Anyway, looks like that poison problem is somewhat my fault too. The temple I chose was Akatosh Chantry, and potion seller becomes available the latest for them. You see, my first warrior build was immune to disease, poison and paralysis because I didn't want to worry about those, so it wasn't a big deal. However, those perks made leveling slower, so I got rid of them all, but forgot to decide on another temple. Oops. Well, I don't want to restart the same build AGAIN, and I remember I already did a pure warrior before to see how likely I would be to gather a full suit of Daedric gear at high levels (answer: don't really count on it). I just wanted to feel how it is to play with a slower leveling, and I felt that through good enough. I need to do a few more ideas instead - taste the life of a thief and walk the thorny path of a pure mage.
