I do not actually play the shooters unless I'm introducing someone else to Touhou - most of my 'touhou-time' is spent either reading doujin and listening to music, or playing SWR or 12.3 (I love Meiling's melee style versus everyone elses' potential danmaku-spam styles).

I like Alice because she's a puppetmaster, not because she's tsundere/yandere/whateverdere or bi for Marisa or WHATEVER. Fuggin' Shanghai and Hourai are equally favorite 'characters' for me just because they're puppets.

I'm sure if I met Komachi while she were resting, I'd just nod, thumbs-up, and move along, rather than berate her for slacking off - or joining her. Assuming I'm not a dead spirit.

I like reading up on all the different fan interpretations of the characters and the fanon backstories, just to see how much of it later gets ascended into canon.

The music is one of the primary things that got me hooked on Touhou, followed closely by the huge cast, followed by the crazy numerous doujin circles (Usually, anything by Happy Flame Time is always worth a chuckle or two regardless of how crappy my day has been). Remixes of the music are just about the only thing on my mp3 player, most all of it pulled from the 'Unplugged' playlists on YouTube (current favorite is the Metal version of Green Eyed Jealousy)

I don't see the hate for Aya as a character. Fighting her in SWR, however... that makes me RAEG.

I can seamlessly switch back and forth between keep-away tactics to up-close-and-personal fighting styles with Alice's basic spellcard deck in SWR and 12.3. I learned how because my friend pitched a bitch about me throwing dolls out and running off to let them fight instead of taking risks. He doesn't complain anymore.

I have never successfully beaten any of the shooters, of which I have only two - Imperishable Night and Perfect Cherry Blossom. Since my computer doesn't have the Japanese fonts installed, the one time I managed to burn all my bombs and continues on PCB I couldn't even see any of the kanji on the screen, so I just hit the bomb button to skip the sequence without even seeing the pictures.

While I'd love to learn Japanese for the sake of enjoying mostly Touhou (and some anime in the back), I've never actually gotten started on it.

I see Flandre and Remilia's relationship not as 'Older sister protecting the outside world from crazy younger sister' but rather 'overprotective sister protecting younger sister from world', thus leading to Flandre's naivety.

Sakuya hit puberty, not a pad ad. She's a human, remember, and breast sizes do occasionally make some changes.

I usually only keep track of the new characters from every other game. Not sure why this is.

Reimu is just very bored all the time and can't be motivated to get the momentum to get up and do anything when there's no actual threat, not a lazy poor shrine maiden hell-bent on making a quick buck.

Hur hur I bet no one else has anything like that </sarcasm>
Good lord with that much it'd be hard to find anyone who doesn't have at least one thing in common. Have at ye!

1. IaMP's my favorite Touhou game, but it's also my least-played because I never have anyone to netplay with
2. I like Touhou, but not any other shmups.
3. I hate Marisa.
4. I play the fighting games more than the shmups.
5. I like HRtP.
6. I think Suwako's harder than Mokou, Ran, and Koishi.
7. I've 1cc'd SA more than PCB, but I still have issues with Orin whereas nothing specific wrecks me in PCB.
8. Cirno and Reisen are two of the shittiest characters ever imagined.  I hate Cirno a bit less purely due to "Manipulation of ice".

I'm drawing a blank, so that's all for now.

1) I rarely use the focus key when playing.
2) I actually LIKE using Aya in SA
3) My method of fighting in SWR and UNL is A-combo spamming with Youmu. Nothing else.

Let's be good friends~

Although 8 is a bit different for me, while I don't think their really that shitty as characters, I just don't care about them in general.

You know the freewebs.com/tohosort thing?  Reisen's ranked dead last with everything selected every time I've done it. :V

I do, but not on this computer.  I almost never use it anyway, since anyone I'd talk to with it has Steam as well, and I'm always logged into that if I'm online.  And as contradictory as this is going to sound, I'd rather play UNL since it's a pain to bounce between it and IaMP.

Though that reminds me...

9. Though I love IaMP and UNL, I hate SWR.

If someone could talk me through setting up the netplay screen thingy for me on UNL, I'd love to join people (once I'm patched up and all that jazz).

I wanna see how I fare against the lot of you actual Touhou fans.

BTW, about not liking Marisa - I can see her as an acceptable main character, as she's allllllmost cliched enough to be a catch-all hero character that you could supposedly see yourself in. Otherwise she's not nearly as interesting as many of the other characters are - like Satori, for example.
However, I DO happen to like some of the arranges and remixes I've heard of Marisa's various themes (current favorite is the one from Seihou being 'modernized' to sound like a Touhou theme. Look it up; 'The Witches Ball ~ Magus')

That's easy enough. :V

But to summarize further:

Hosting: Pick option one.

Joining: Copy the host's IP+port (should look like xxxx.xxxx.xxxx:xxxxx), then pick option 5.

Hence "AC-Nashi" :V

ACombo-Nashi goddamn it learn to combo with something else other than BnB.
Dial-A and BNB are completely different things.

Dial-A = 5AAAAA

BNB (midscreen) = 5AAA 3A 623C

(for Youmu of course)

I find the music and sound effects distracting in game so I listen to quiet, minimalist music when I play.

Same over here. The only time I ever really leave the house is to go to school, and when I get home, I go up to my room and stay there for the rest of the day.

I really should go see my friend that lives down the street, but I know that I won't.

Wake up, go to work, come home, stay home.  I go out only to buy groceries, do laundry and hit up the mall to play my favorite arcade game.  (PiU)

My online and offline life have blended together so much sometimes it's difficult to tell them apart.

1. Like touhou characters almost exclusively based on the quality of their theme song or if i find a quality remix of it.

1.5: Despite having SA, i didn't find out about Orin until watching the yakiniku restaurant from hell.

1.7: Got to like the character from the piano arrangement of the iosys song

2. While somewhat typical I got into the series through a friend, not so typically the friend was just showing me some crazy videos of lunatic modes and then proceeding to mcroll me one afternoon. The catch: he wasn't actually in to the series at all, but slowly got me obsessed. Heixin, I still blame you.(in a happy sort of way, but still blame you) But thanks to that early wackiness you showed me I beat MoF this morning.

3. Prefer most fan arrangements to the original songs.

4. Cannot get past stage 2 in any touhou game besides PoFV and MoF.

5. PoFV game is screwy and will not play music...and crashes if I try to pause.

Heck that's the opposite of me...I panic bomb all the time and wonder where all my bombs went...

there's even replays where I use two bombs almost consecutively during a boss fight.

I'm trying to cut back on the bombing

And I'm horrible at bombing. I forget about bombs, die, and THEN hit x.

I can only bomb if something's about to come up that I know I hate.

In UFO, I can do stage 4 perfectly, but I can't go through stage two without using at least two lives and a bomb.

I suppose death bombing is better but i can hardly ever get the timing right

I also tend to get cornered a lot...in which case I panic bomb

back on topic though...

does anyone else bomb recklessly?

I can't 1cc any of the games for shit

EOSD is my second favorite Touhou game, next to LLS

Every Friday a couple friends and I get together and drink while trying to see who can get farthest on Lunatic

SWR is fun when playing my dad

That's about it.

I know more on Yukkuris than I'd like to admit.

I took EoSD down to my local Yu-gi-oh tournament and watched all my mates struggle on Rumia.

Maybe these aren't very different but, I'll go ahead:

- Of the fewer people in my country (maybe even continent, that I know of) that seriously plays Touhou
- Got my brother into Touhou [- And shmups is not his type of games... at all]
- Sometimes when making original music, it ends up sounding like Touhou arranges
- I actually like ZUN's art style
- I play all of the Touhou games, no exception
- Particularly fond of the older games
- Also play other shmups, Seihou, Xevious and Galaga are a few examples
- Tend to not use my bombs often, prefer dodging as is
- In my year of playing Touhou, I never knew of the Shift button really. It resulted in a habit of fast playing on the edge [It was hard at first but, helped my improve quicker]
- I'm 20 and female
- Love adding Touhou references in my college projects and if anyone recognises it.. fufufu
- I've been told that I can cosplay Kaguya pretty easily
- Now that my hair has been cut, that's changed to Renko
- This is my life: Work, College, Online, Hobbies, LAN [Isn't it sad? T_T]
