Since i am here i may as well as post the score : Lunatic - Reimu B .ASP - 1,667,849,700 - C - 0.077% - Replay almost gave up on this one, and my free time is running out :( --- Quote ---dot_asp: http://www.shrinemaiden.org/forum/index.php?topic=1016.msg43328#msg43328 --- End quote --- 967k cherry with 3 lives remaining yield a mere 1,52b or something. it was a fail run, but creating a hope for me (first 900k+ cherry run). --- Quote ---And more questions about your latest submission. Practice stage planning, full runs? Was it a straight week of effort on PCB or minor testing here and there then a full run on a single day? --- End quote --- The first 3 days were stuck at stage 1 and 2, and i was aiming for a full run. I had a great morale back then, after scored IN. But everything just went down from stage 4, if not earlier. Then day 3 to 4, i figure i can't go on without stage practices on stage 4 (yes i was stupid not to practice stage 4). Occasionally i 1cc the game with 900k or more cherry, but too many misses made the score just below the 1,6b. Day 5 to 7, everything were already a full runs, and yet mistakes are always there. To this day i am still trying for score though, but not as zealous as before. (sorry for blogging post...) --- Quote ---Were there any morale problems during that playthrough? For me, when I collect the courage to do a full run I let the mistakes run through and finish it. By then I'm usually fired up and can do another playthrough with extra focus. Then it's back to fooling around with other unrelated things. --- End quote --- It was a roller coaster ride. I was nervous at early stage 6 (stupid death). Then i went perfectly calm like capturing Deadly Dance. But later my nerves were trembling on Repository of Hirokawa and last seconds of Resurrection Butteflies -80%. After a full run i usually tired out and can't concentrate anymore, and just practicing for a full run, not hoping for anything. (again sorry for blogging...) no prob, you're actually playing the game |

Thanks for the response! I feel so special inside. And if you missed it earlier because it wasn't in a PM (nor is it now), thank you for pinpointing the safespot on Sakuya's Eternal Meek. If you watch this replay you'll wonder how such a forsaken run could yield such this score. I'm still working up to that title. Anyway, I would be humbled to join Team Loser but the vast knowledge of shmups the would-be teammates hold intimidates me. Maybe a month back I tried out Gunbird 2. After 10-15 attempts the best score I could manage was 300K. I thought about submitting it but read some old thread about high-end and low-end scores. What stuck to me was someone who said it would be fine to run around and submit scores to every game out there so long as you gave it your best try, otherwise it's a waste of time for both parties to put up the submission. Maybe the last part wasn't mentioned. Was it my best try? Many times I died without using any of my bombs, was I too lazy? Not enough runs to learn a path for the stages and attacks, perhaps. That and they swapped around so what I may have lived through in a stage early on may place me in a bind for a different attempt. |
