Anime of the season.  No joke.  I don't know what to say other than watch it, it's fantastic.

Just finished episode 1 and I am very interested in what I see so far. Good animation and music, and Hajime is a nice buck of the DARK AND EDGY SUPERHERO trend that's been going around of late. It's really rare nowadays to see a hero who just really enjoys doing what they do.

Spoiler:
Also Utsutsu wearing a swimsuit all the time is definitely fine by me.

Seeing the trailer made me go 'I have no clue what this even is'

Which generally gets a half-decent reaction from me. I may give it a try Wednesday after my exam Tuesday or something.

I don't even remember who put the above in my sig. [Wasn't me] Nor do I understand why I keep it here anymore.
Those two facts sum me up pretty well.

Edible you bastard it's been more than two days and I can't stop watching the OP.

And this was the original Gatchaman.

If you think how much the anime industry has changed drastically over the years. The feeling of those vibes that doesn't involve sadistic characters, or weird psychological shows, gore and etc that new animes does have today. Old animes seem to have that sense of charm...that's just wonderful.

Think of the new Gatchaman as an improvement from the whole Voltes V, Daimos-like genre. You know...Sentai'ish..
Well it's still Sentai in a way...but, you know what I mean.

EP2 done, and things are taking a very interesting direction.

Spoiler:
I think I'm starting to say where the whole 'crowds' thing is coming into play. The show looks like it might be almost a criticism of the whole concept of 'heroes' in general, at least on the subject of 'only these people with special powers can save the world'. GALAX lets normal people save lives and keep the world safe - people even comment it's more effective than ambulances during the accident. Add that to the fact the MESS don't seem to be as dangerous as they were made out to be, and it seems like we may have been horribly misguided from day one. Like the banner said - 'It's not heroes who update the world, it's us'.

Or I'm overthinking like crazy again. This has happened before.

Spoiler:
It sounds like the real threat may not be the MESS, but something else - like the thing that pushed the three people down the stairs.

I'm really enjoying this so far, maybe more than anything else this season.

Oh my god this show is incredible.

I'm sitting here with my jaw dropped the entire time as Hajime is going on and on and just being a completely amazing MC. She is literally saving the day with her insanity.

Just saw the first two episodes. It feels like Madoka meets Tiger and Bunny, with Haruhi replacing Tiger. I really like the main so far. Definitely want to keep up with this.
I'll probably do this + Attack on Titan + maybe something else this season.

I was drawn in by the art (hehehe). Seriously though, best looking thing since [C]. I'm so tempted to keep watching just because of that. I just feel like it will be really predictable and boring. Also the main character is REALLY annoying.

Oh, it did get better in episode 2. Main character got less annoying (still pretty annoying though) and this face book thing looks pretty cool.

Somehow reminds me of Decade because of the booklet thing, though one carries a deck of cards in a card-holder book thing. That said, why Go-Bird?

Looks like a tribute to the original. I hope it makes more sense later seeing as this other anime looks totally different.

Right, Episode 3 made things very interesting. I like Rui and his crossdressing antics. Also this show literally made curdled milk badass how the hell do you do that

Interesting tidbit I noticed - apparently there's a set of special GALAX users called the Hundred. Hajime is the newest member of the Gatchamen, and her number at the Spiritual Precipice is 101. Coincidence?

That is cool. Rui also has a notebook similar to the Gatchaman notebook, except with the X logo on it. For reference Utsu-tsu is #99, Sugane Tachibana is #96, Joe Hibiki is #89, OD is #12, and Paiman is #3. I'm liking the massive deviation there. Not suspicious at all.
My subs have Utsu-tsu saying "I'm dreamy". Is that what other people are getting, or are they getting something more... useful.

So, I just found this on MAL.
Ignoring Joe's suits for a second these sound pretty OP, although I'm guessing they aren't and those are just, like, ideal performance things.
Now going to back to Joe's suit, that's a bit underwhelming, given the symbolic importance of the other two. I mean, I'll get over it because his suit is best looking one there and I expect some awesome fight sequences of just him punching things, but still. That chain goes from his left pec to his left arm, I wonder how  that'll be used. I hope it's a harpoon or grappling hook or something to keep enemies within punching distance.

Can't be as OP as Sugane, I mean... infinite reach? he could just kill an alien from half a world away.

Can't be as OP as Sugane, I mean... infinite reach? he could just kill an alien from half a world away.
Killing something from around the world and OP characters in general make for a boring fights. Good fights are choreographed, and there is no choreography needed when all you have to do is aim, kill, aim (a negligible change at your distance), kill. Joe has to be a lot more attentive then Sugane because when Joe makes a mistake he takes damage as appose to Sugane who just tries again (again at his distance). Joe can fly, Sugane can't. If I'm right about the chain being some kind of weapon then that's also more interesting then a sword in my opinion.
If all you want is power Hajime can make anything she wants (its probably not that easy). You literally could not want more.
