Touhou 14 Error

I'm having a bit of trouble opening DDC. When I try to run it, I get this error:



I do have the latest DirectX and the latest C++ Visuals, and I have renamed the Japanese file to something different. I'm not even sure what the error says, so I'm probably missing something really obvious. Any help would be appreciated.

Dunno if this'll apply to you but have you tried running it in 640x480? The game ran absolutely fine for me like that, fullscreen or not, but the "high res" resolution gives me the same error you're having.
