I've heard the Rathalos Plate drop rate is like 1/500 or something like that.  Hell, I've never heard the same number twice.

I'm highly doubting a 1/500 chance. Even Rubies and the like from last games had at least a 1% drop rate.


In other news, has anyone else noticed the sheer number of outside references and easter eggs during the dialog in the game? I know I hit a couple that were suspect for me, but with this one I KNEW it couldn't be a coincidence:

Just got to 3 Star quests the other day, and working on Kirin Hotness 2.0 the Barioth set. Evade + 2 makes me salivate.

Its k I killed him today. It's a lot easier with the full 4 instead of 3 and there isn't a Rathian taking up the same space.

Also lol at this Jhen event quest. Everyone can get Jhen gear no matter the HR.

Holy crap. I don't think i've ever had that much money at once. O_O There's always something for me to buy.

I don't think you can trade Snowflake Plants or other furnishings. Aren't the rarities too high?

Oh forgot about that. The plants have a rarity of 5 which in monster 1 the max you could trade was like 3.
Funny because the only thing I have produced with fine art is five star plants. So much for being rare.

And yeah, you can't trade anything unless it's only 1 or 2 star rarity.

Great Jaggi set is almost complete, I just need a king's frill. Where to get? Also I'll have a rugged great sword incoming soon, so it'll be about time I dive into multiplayer.

Injure great Jaggi's head during battle and its a 35% extra drop from rewards.

King's Frill can also be obtained from the Great Jaggi's shiny drop when it's limping away, though it's still a bit rare.

I had a complete Gobul set before I decided to sell it because it was worth nothing to me
He is the most boring and predictable monster to fight, yet also rather tedious.
There's no point other than I can't actually find anyone that can help with 3* Ranks :<

If I were anywhere near being able to get that, I'd grind for it now. I'm still only HR4, though... And I've hit a bit of a wall offline, so I'll probably just solo some stuff online later today.

That sucks Jana cause once event quests end I don't think they ever come back around.
I have 10 plans now. Trapping gives you a lot more plans than killing.

I doubt that they would permanently route off all of their extra items and the event quests that go with them. They just want to make them limited, to give people a reason to stick around after they beat the regular game.

I have my Barioth armor, all is right in the world. *_* Also, just unlocked Ceadeus in single-player. Anyone fight him yet?

Haven't done Ceadeus myself but watched my brother kill him a bit. Has best boss music in the game.
Seems I'm cursed to do Jhen forever. Done him 5 times today for other peoples urgents and when it got to my turn the ship blows up.

D'oh. I don't know if I'll have much time to play more MH before ACen.  What HR do you need to unlock the urgent? I'm currently still rank 3, mid 20s.

At 30 is the jhen urgent quest then you can go onto expert severs.

I unlocked the 2-star quests in Online mode because I hit a wall at Lagiacrus offline. I'm still only HR 9. :v I did play with some neat people today though!

Also, from what I've read, Capcom will have the event quests on a rotating schedule. That way, if I'm at too low an HR for quests, I can get up there by the next time they come around.

Yeah, Rotating Schedule seems to be the case.  On the 15th, the new Event Quest is going to be a match versus not one, but two Barroths (Very likely simultaneously, ala the Double Royal Ludroth fight that was present earlier).  Victory nets you a piece of the HellHunter Jacket - which is a really damn sexy black leather jacket with three slots and +5 to Survivor naturally.  There's also a white version to come from a later event, which gives +11 to Survivor, but doesn't come with any slots.  Oh, and there's a pair of leather pants coming too... and some awesome shades...

Suffice to say you'll look out of place, but damn good  BV

...Well, if you can take on TWO GODDAMN BARROTH anyway (And there's no telling what the other event challenges are going to be ;-;)

Also: You can invite people into the Jhen Mohran urgent if they're at 27 or above, apparently.  I've still got a few HR to go, but I'd come along if I could XD ... in the meantime I need to keep farming Lagiacrus to get the last Horn I need to complete its armor set... and hunt Diablos and Rathalos... and probably forge myself a few other weapons... sigh.

Also, I finally took down Gigginox with major difficulty today. I'm still not sure if I'm ready for Lagi, so I'll probably head online to up my HR some more. I'm 9 now, so I could do that easy Gobul event...

Could be worse, there were those Silver Rathalos/Gold Rathian combos from Unite. :3

Though I think I remember seeing an event quest that was Diablos + Another Stupidly Annoying Monster in the arena before.
