>The are both a few yards behind you, and neither is moving. The danmaku they are spraying is frightening thick, and is slowly spreading out like a fountain's spray, but horizontal to the ground.  You suspect the area you and Kasen are in is going to get very dangerous in a few moments

> While shooting, beat a hasty retreat toward the space above the familiar closest to us, adjusting our aim during the flight as needed to keep pumping at the familiar.

>You start firing on the familiar that you dodged earlier, moving above it and continuing to rain arrowhead danmaku on it.
>As you do, the fountains of danmaku continue to spray further outward, until the nearly reach Sariel; whom you think has picked up a couple of new burns. Kasen finds herself suddenly having to back away as the danmaku starts to curve, and then fall inward like water droplets, quickly becoming a thick rain that Kasen flees from as quickly as she can, taking several nasty-looking hits with remarkable stoicism.
>You find that some of that rain of bullets is coming back toward you. You are certain your danmaku is affecting the familiar in some way, it's not just dissolving, but you have no idea how effective it is being. The bullet rain coming upon is a nasty cluster, not quite as speedy as the shrapnel bullets were, but dense.

>The rain is getting close, you have a couple seconds to deal with it.
>It spreads throughout the entire hallway, but it is definitely thickest between the familiars. Nearer to the wall, only one of the familiars is able to send bullets into the air.

>You could fire on it without looking while staying reasonably stationary, though you've need to glimpse if you moved much to keep your aim on it.
>You continue to shoot at it, then drop some demon fire on the familiar. A quick "fwoosh!" noise catches your ears, you involuntarily glance down to see the entire familiar is on fire. Huh, you never tried that before...
>Along the wall, the bullets seem to be "falling" in a fairly random pattern. You suppose there is some internal pattern to it, but it is complex enough that it looks random at a glance.

> Make a beeline for the other side of the hallway and the area above the other familiar. Keep this movement as lateral as possible; only move back away from the bullet wall as needed to avoid getting shot. We may be behind the familiar a little bit by the time we reach the hallway wall, but that's okay. The most important thing is to get to the hallway wall.

>You make a beeline for the other side of the hall, and have to veer sharply to get away from the wall of danmaku. You manage to stay ahead of the danmaku, thankfully it is slow, and it becomes much more manageable as you pass by the familiar and approach the wall, but your veering has left you some yards behind the familiar.  The danmaku ahead of you is thick, and more of it is crossing over from the main bulk of it, but you think you can see two ways through it. One that takes you forward and close to some crossover, and another takes you lower, close to the floor, and around a larger mass.

>You drop close to the floor and start to work your way around the oncoming bullets. They are not so dense here, and they move in varying curves that go largely in one direction.  You can see Kasen, trying to make her way toward the empty spot left by the familiar you destroyed. She doesn't seem to have done very well, you can see her clothes are rather tattered, and she has several nasty-looking burns.

>Would it be worthwhile to use the wok as a shield?
