Just finished a Pamela playthrough. I didn't do a Grolla run in the first game because I didn't think the playstyle would be that interesting, but it was actually pretty fun. A self-imposed ban on charge slashes for the bosses lasted to Iris 2 because I'm not dodging that thing for 3 hours.
Notes (lol):
Dolis - Hardest of the first bosses with one attack that still hits me basically every time (as Freudia). Much like Trauare from RKS1 in that respect. Music is indeed one of the best stage themes, but then anything by Wingless Seraph is pretty good. Stage itself is above average for the mid-boss and springs weeeee.
Zorne - Played this one to death in the demo already but it's still enjoyable. Zorne needs to use her self-immolation attack more often to be a better boss fight. Double team with Trauare is amazing though.
Trauare - Holy shit I love this stage too much. Probably my favourite in RKS2, though Iris 2 from the original edges it out as the best overall. Trauare herself is an easy first half followed by a fun but still not that difficult second half. Her blocks attack needs to vary rather than being the same thing every time.
Luste - Stage was nothing special. The first half of the boss fight is awful but then the room explodes and it feels like something awesome is going to happen. Which it never really does. It's an improvement sure, but the attacks are too infrequent, weak and predictable to salvage the fight.
Grolla - Excellent stage with zombies 'n' shit that I've played too much already. Grolla is one of the best of the first bosses with a decent variety of attacks that she actually makes full use of.
Sichte - Another familiar stage. Playing this without Liebea's stage theme from RKS1 makes me sad. Boss fight is fun, though she could use a damage upgrade and I hate attacks which catch you out once but then become trivial to avoid.
Liebea - Stage was easy and fairly bland in terms of layout. Still nowhere near as bad as Zorne's stage from RKS1 though. I was really pleased to see that Liebea had actually been fleshed out into an entertaining if not very difficult boss.
Schwer - The start was hilarious (hands up anyone else who went left immediately) but I expected more traps and rage from the rest of the stage. I like the boss fight more than I probably should. Schwer kindly tries to give me items but they keep exploding for some reason.
Pamela - Decent stage that reminds me of the SDM from MegaMari. Maybe it's the maids. Boss fight is one of the best across the two games. It's challenging, relentless and very satisfying to win.
Unbekannt - lol. Hard to find openings in until you realise that one of his attacks is easily baited and has a ridiculous recovery time, at which point he becomes trivial.
Schirach - Enjoyed the stage a lot, despite hating those kinds of enemies. First half of the boss is simple enough that you can get mauled by the second and still win. Also Pamela's charge slash cuts through her blocking (just went back and tested) meaning she's really easy for her.
Eifer - First 20 seconds gave me goosebumps. Very good stage overall, particularly with the Mario fortress style spike ceilings. Boss is a poor man's Freudia from RKS1 but still enjoyable. I prefer the 'open' bosses generally.
Lecht & Rink - 3 2 1. Above average stage that keeps you on your toes. The damage gimmick is the only hard bit of the boss fight (as Freudia anyway). Died handily my first time,
made a lucky guess figured it out and won on my second. Much better fight as Pamela.
Iris 1 - Holy shit Quick Man lasers which I didn't loathe. Iris 1 from the first game is still superior though. Boss wasn't as fun as it could've been. I hate attacks which catch you out once etc.
Iris 2 - Quasi-invisible underwater spikes is an awesome idea. Really. The room with the blue fire jets from the ceiling and floor is one of my favourites. I didn't really enjoy the Devil from the first game and this one wasn't much better, although gaining a second attack pattern > gravity switch.
Iris 3 - Iris Machine was far less obnoxious this time.
Final - I really like how the final boss is legitimately the hardest in the game. The first half of the fight is awesome and better than the second, largely because she doesn't follow a strict pattern. Quite probably the best overall boss.
Pamela is basically the best thing since Zorne.
They're both medium-high tier but Liebea, Freudia, Eifer, Schwer, Iris, Lecht and maaaybe Schirach are all superior.
An English version WOULD be useful the first time through one specific point in the game. Good thing it's the same choice every time.
I thought the pictures were something to do with weapons you'd need for those sections and ended up picking correctly by chance.
Regarding your character lists,
tee hee
Trauare: ZORNE DOUBLE-TEAM DESPERATION <3
wat wat wat. brb.
Well I'll be. I always beat Zorne first and never thought that she might show up for Trauare.
Also what's up with the Schirach hate? It can't be a difficulty thing if you like Pamela.
