Because HELL YES 1 bomb Seiga and 2 bomb Futo fights.  I was literally shaking after that Tongling Yoshika capture.

Also, this run contains less "X X C X X C" than usual due to actually dodging the 4th and 5th stages.  So in the end, I got a compromise between mashing X and C and dodging things, the way I was told to and the way I wanted to.

UFO is all that remains, and I've been working towards that one and it shouldn't take too long...

Wow, congratulations on your 2-all, Zil! Your post motivated me to give Black Label a shot (only played WL before, and then again, not many hours) and while I don't think It's a great game, stage 5 is pretty cool. I may try a 1-all of this. By the way, if you're looking for a game with fast bullets, there are much better choices than Dangun Feveron IMHO.

Never done anything there, no. I guess I could submit it, though the score is horrendous.

By the way, if you're looking for a game with fast bullets, there are much better choices than Dangun Feveron IMHO.

Do tell! Actually, I'd love to find a shmup that's very similar to PoDD, though I've really no idea what to look for. Fast bullets are a good thing though, for sure.

congratz IHNN. I remember TD being my first lunatic game :V but it didn't look pretty and I don't think I dged much. having a first clear with dodging is actually pretty cool. =)

Don't tell me you haven't played Twinkle Star Sprites? Well, It's debatable how similarly the games actually play, but still, there's one game right there.

Gunbird 2 and Dragon Blaze are two of my personal favourites, very awesome games with lightning fast bullets, and a distinctly fast pace (one loop isn't much more than 10 minutes, the stages and boss fights go by quickly)

However they have very few (if any?) random elements.

Of course, you could play Dangun too and see how you like it.

I'd second a recomendation of Psikyo's shmups (also try out Strikers 99) since they are fast-paced and many people find them very fun once you get into them. They are heavily about memorization and offer no focused movement speeds but that doesn't seem to be a problem for you Zil.

To be fair though, DOJBL has nothing on Psikyo's games in terms of memorization so you may not necessarily enjoy it but I'd say give it a shot.

alright, I've been playing horribly the whole day. (man, it's only 12.30 pm, maybe it'll get better :v), but I managed to perfect futo, at least.

Fun fact about this? it's also the first run to get past iwafune :'D just shows that futo doesn't have anything remotely difficult except for that spell. it's also the first stage that is higher than stage 3 outside of MoF <.< well, w/e

now, I just have to not fuck up one of marisa's pattern. it's always something else, but it's always something. which is pretty annoying. fuck, I even lost runs to event horizon. wth? :v

1 run later I got this :v I safespotted starlight typhoon because I didn't care anymore, but aside from that, everything was done properly. marisa's a fun boss, but I think I have problems reaing the star's hitboxes. might need some practice on her, regardless

well, that happened. inbetween some failed extra perfects, I play this stage and one of these runs happened to be the perfect one. I thought I'd die like...3 times in the last non :V I'm not good at it, even though it's static. I also pulled 2 way too close dodges on it.
I messed up dipper creeping close, but I somehow managed, nonetheless. murasa's an awesome fight and she's got a good stage to boot! just the midboss is bleh :V

makes 3 perfects in one day :'D man, that's pretty cool.

Made it to Open Universe in 90fps GFW Extra. Actually survived the first 'wave' and was 5% away from a bomb.

Considering some runs go so badly they fail to reach Marisa, and this is my first time past Test Slave, this is progress!

next immediate goal is Nue. After that I'll probably go into PCB and SA some more while doing ichirin as well. ( I already did stage 3 in PCB, but stage 5 and 6 aren't done yet). possibly doing you, too :V

I might also consider Eirin, but I think I'm too inconsistent to try her now. so yeah, a lot of stuff to do. I wanna "save" EoSD, though. until I have a recording software, so i can show off those, too. will redo meiling, when the time comes, too

Not really, they just seem like good choices if you want quick victories. I know there are plenty of bosses (Chen, Mystia, Keine, Yoshika to name a few) that fall under that myself, so I figured there would be some for you too.

well, except for SA, UFO and IN, I did all stage 2 and 3 bosses :v well, and kyoko, but nobody cares about kyoko. so I dunno about them being quick victories for me :v I honestly suck against Keine, yuugi (or rather, the stage) and kogasa. and ichirin's pretty tough. I could probably do parsee and mystia in a couple tries, but...yesterday is over, so now it's back to being a horrible player :V
I'll see what I can do about those, though. I might do them along with Nue (who is going to be the next big perfect, promise xD) for a little break inbetween. I suppose mystia, kyoko and parsee will come pretty fast; yuugi might, too. if the stage doesn't hate me. Keine, kogasa and ichirin...might take a bit, actually.

I have played Gunbird 2. The fast pace is fun, and I generally don't mind memorization. I never really went anywhere with it though, so I will be sure to check it out again. Or maybe Strikers 1999, which I think is a bit easier.

I really like random patterns though, which is part of the reason I like PoDD so much. It has nothing to do with the PvP aspect of it. I don't think Twinkle Star Sprites really plays the same way. I'd really love to find a game that plays like PoDD, but in a more structured fashion, so the scoring wouldn't be so uncontrollable and bosses don't randomly let you win after 10 seconds. (I've even considered learning Danmakufu and trying to design one myself.) Anyway, I think I will try Dangun Feveron first, if possible. From what I've seen it looks pretty fun, though parts might get pretty boring after being repeated enough times. At the very least, I'll 1cc it.

And yes, make a thread!

Well, I did. I won't be surprised if it doesn't go anywhere though, seeing as the old one died of inactivity in the first place.

Best thing ever. I advise trying to time your freeze so the ice breaks just as the wave ends, Otherwise the numbers that display your freeze percentage will block your view of the bullets. (Assuming you're looking that high on the screen, but I don't see how else you'd read that thing fast enough.)

that means no deaths/misses, no bombs and no UFOs. it's funny how essentially, 90% of my score is the captured spellcards, and around 20 million were for the clear. without the UFOs, scoring in UFO is horrible. always :V

I'm uncertain of what to do next, but I might devote a bit of time for the earlier stages. not sure yet.
