Yeah, this game is a danmakufu script that was released around... mid 2012-ish, I assume? For a yearly NicoNico event called "Touhou Nico Dousai". Which contains;

--

-Your normal pick of playable characters [Reimu, Marisa and Sakuya]

-An interesting gimmick reminescent of TD's Trance gauge

-8 amazing original characters and  :*-tastic art

-Absolutley gorgeous 3D visuals

-Very interesting and pretty spellcards
 
-Quite possibly the best fanmade GST for a Touhou game I have ever seen. [Made by Wanwan, no less.]

In this story, basically, a meteor crashes into Gensokyo. It somehow it becomes so large it blocks out the sun, therefore 'increasing the power of the youkai'. This is as plausible as I find the game's plot, as it uses quite the large amount of Judeo-Christian themes in very odd ways.

Let's get to how this game's gimmick works; In the game, you have a meter on the left. Stars fall during the entire game, which you collect to increase the said meter. When you fill it up, you go into an invincible state where all bullets during invincibility turn into point items, and all stars become Life Point Blue.

I'm getting what is apparently a bug when I play the game. I can't explain very well... but some weird black stuff gets in the front of the screen and covers everything. You can see it here:

* Download Danmakufu. For this game use version 0.12m.
* Extract Danmakufu.
* Open your archive of this game. Go inside the TLC(b4) folder, there should be a folder called TheLastComer. Extract this folder into the script folder in your Danmakufu install.

For some reason this game uses absolute pathing in some places, so make sure the files are in th_dnh\script\TheLastComer.

Speaking of which, the coding of this game is awfully inefficient. I might post a sample snippet when I get home.

Same here. Several gray bars move around the whole screen and block nearly everything. Also text(difficulty choices, Loading..., score etc.) and some images(lives, bombs) move around wildly.

issues I have with the game:

First, the slowdown. I don't want to play at 30 fps just because there are a couple bullets on the screen. I have not been able to turn that off. Not even in the options. I hope there'll be a way. I want my shmups at at least 60. No matter how cramped the screen is.

next is the incredible "similarity" to ten desires. the jesus boss is basically miko with different colors for the non-spells. I mean, why? if you're just going to rip off from the originals, don't make the game in the first place. If I want to fight miko, I fight miko and not jesus. there are other similarities, such as the flock of fairies in stage 1, the tough fairies in stage 5 etc etc.

and lastly: after 1cc'ing the game, it just stopped everything. I could still focus, could move left/right, but that's it. except for pausing. it just froze in a way and I never got to see the ending.

So yeah, definitely not the best fanmade game I have played recently. not to mention that I don't really like the music, but that's just taste and stuff.
