This sounds like it's much easier to maintain than an IL table.
I am in favor of the queue being kept as it ensures everyone who wants a turn to mod gets a turn to mod.

/in because it won't be insane.

/in because if I don't /in for every mafia game I'll be reduced to rocking back and forth on the floor until I go into a coma

Not getting the threads stickied sounds slightly annoying but it's not a huge deal (I mean, the mafia signups thread is liable to get pushed back several pages during ongoing games)

I do kind of agree with the "Have your setup done before you get in the queue", but it's just that since the queue -also- tends to take about a year to cycle through.... :T and we haven't actually run into issues more then games taking a couple days~a week longer to start then they would have. It sounds like a fine rule though, despite what I'm saying. (Having all setups getting a second opinion before they actually start, on the other hand, sounds great.)

Good thing mine got Pescos' beforehand  :V

Also i guess it wasn't clear but I can handle maintaining a queue, as shown by managing this beast.

The policy change is simply that forum staff will no longer directly support mafia games.

...

- Moderation is only going to step in if it's a matter on forum rules level.

Worth highlighting. Mafia has always been given a larger degree of freedom than anywhere else on this forum for people to be assholes to each other. That will no longer be the case.

If you enjoy full forum posting privileges, watch how you act in-game.

I would argue it'd be nice if we could have the signups thread stickied (not necessarily the mafia games, but just the signups) as it's an important thread that rarely gets changed out and to help potential new players notice that yes, there's a system for regular games of mafia here, as well as the fact that due to it's purpose it's both important but will regularly not get posted in for like 2 week periods of time. But in the end there's a steep dropoff point in of posting activity around a couple threads into Page 2, so with current RPG activity it's at least not getting pushed as far as page 3 or whatever (And certainly doesn't need to worry about inactivity lock), so it's not a huge deal.

I'd be up for managing the queue since I'm around most of the day every day at current, and am pretty much guaranteed to be available at least several hours daily forever, barring short periods of time I may have no internet like if I moved homes or something (disclaimer:"Forever" doesn't literally mean forever okay), in addition to having enough ~*~mafia spirit~*~ or whatever to be totally fine with taking care of it

Would also be fine if IHNN did it instead though because I don't complain about chances to be lazy either

The latter half of page 2 (with 30 topics per page) is locked stuff. As long as a thread gets posts in it within a 2 month period, it'll never fall lower than that.

Serela, why do you want to have your turn postponed a bit again? :V As it is it's easy to /in and say you'll finish the game in that huge wait period, then remember at the last minute and throw together some last pieces. It's not that much to ask that someone would be able to run the game they're inning to mod when they mod, is it? (ps there better be items in your game or my expectations will never be met)

Also Serela I love you like a bunny but I worry you would forget that the que exists to update or that there aren't ants.
Do you think you could handle both this and that speedrunning thing, Mr. NoName? I'm surprised there's someone with experience in being a que mule!

BT: I don't think so. We don't generally leave it unposted in even when a game is running. It might go off the first page and someone will have to grab it back? Just bookmark the latest thread instead of wandering in search of it.

Yep.  This has little to no behind the scenes stuff while DSDQ had loads-and it had loads more stuff to update.  This is a much smaller scale, and it's a queue instead of a table!  All around easier.

I'm glad I was here for a game before this happened, because If I came back after this change, I probably would have been unreasonably angry.

I still remember when I was the first Games Organizer for Mafia~ It's just a small amount of busywork, but it felt nice having something important to do between games.

It really shouldn't be a problem for anyone to run a queue like this one. The reqs basically boil down to "will you care enough to update it consistently in the long run?" because that's usually the problem with listkeepers.

Pretty much. IHNN seems like a mate who cares for his fellow mafians. We won't need a new thread until after huh what's Angry Birds Mafia (which I hope is the official name he uses) so we don't need to decide right away, but care is the #1 issue. If you're gonna take off or get hit by a car let us know so someone else can take on the burden of /care.

Zakky chaaaaaaan I don't see an /in beside your name, don't you want to be town with me this time? :< I'm sorry I didn't snuggle up to you again but you were the only one on your team who didn't try to outright assassinate me. (You should have though, I don't think anyone would have expected the entire scum team to pile on with a fakevote)

the birds aren't angry though, they are adorable

i'm tempted to just cement the fact i'm ripping off edible and call it A Feathery Game of Mafia. maybe i'll be able to channel his ability to actually host good games

also: a co-mod / checker would be nice if anybody is interested

I don't follow. "But" is used to refer to a statement that conflicts with the preceding statement, but "Have your setup done before you get in the queue" and "it takes about a year to cycle through" seem to be in agreement, as the latter means there is sufficient time to accomplish the former.

Or maybe I'm crazy.

I'm kinda curious as to why we didn't just skip Serela and move on with the queue but if you want to host a vanilla it's like whatever.

Because you weren't here for the end of game and we've gone a whole couple of hours without signups! You know how those crazy mafians are. I'm being facitious, but people did suggest wanting a vanilla break. It's good to know that you're eager to run though Schezoz. Now go update Monopoly

Oh yeah- that reminds me, Anon accounts disabled so no more anonymafia? Well, I suppose that'll make my setup a lot simpler to run at least, since anonymafia does add on a decent amount of extra effort for the mod to set it up. Even if it also makes me saaaad. But okay.

We can always assign one or two people to hold onto the anon accounts. Of course, these people couldn't play in anon games for fear of cheating, but yeah.

reducing game size to 12 players as i decided it would be more convenient and move along more swiftly (gotta go fast)
