You decide to begin at the beginning:

Culprit: Rika

No-one knows why, but one day, just as Reimu was heading off to investigate the incident which was set up to try and steal her power, a tank rolled up, and a human inside it demanded to fight, but was easily defeated.

However, later, the human returned, in a new machine she called 'Evil Eye Sigma', in another attempt to destroy the shrine. This fight was far more difficult, with Reimu almost losing.

It is important that no-one knows why Rika attacked the shrine. She has also not been seen from since.

> Culprit: Mima

> To attract Reimu into a trap, the evil spirit Mima used her magic to get lesser youkai to cause a ruckus. This eventually lead Reimu into a unknown realm, to find the cause of the youkai rampage. This is when she first met Marisa Kirisame, who was working under Mima as her apprentice. Reimu defeated Marisa, and then went on to fight, and bearly defeat, Mima.

Mima seems to be a vengeful spirit, although why she's vengeful against the Hakurei Clan is unknown. She tends to lurk around the Hakyrei Shrine nowadays. She was also involved in the Makai Incident.

Her strongest attack... you've only seen her use it once, as a demonstration of her power to you to convince you she could protect you from the Yamas. The tear in the ground from where the laser passed over is still there, and nothing grows there, still. So many years on...]

> You're actually not sure if she can. When she uses Duel Atomising, she has to catch her breath afterwards, if only for a moment. Both the cutting and her can use the spark at full power because Yuuka literally can't direct enough of her power to maximize the spell at once into one point. She has to use her cutting to maximize the flow, hence why both her and the cutting can use the attack at the same power as if it was Yuuka alone.

> But with a different, more 'condense' as she explained once, power source, you're not sure if she has enough leftover power to do that.
