Hello there. I'm an amateur musician with some experience with mixing using DAWs and VSTs. I have been interested in Touhou Music recently, so I decided to try my hand in remixing and rearranging some tracks by ZUN.

Here is my first work:
Children's Festival ~ Innocent Treasures

I like ZUN's Innocent Treasures (and was pleased when I heard the vocal remix by WAVE). It doesn't seem to have enough remixes, so there you go. It's not anything epic though.

I'm doing Scarlet Beyond A Crimson Dream next. Hope it turns out fine.

It could be more different from the original, but overall this is pretty good.

Thanks! I'll try to produce more original sounding remixes in the future.

~~CHEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEENNNN~~I deviated from my usual style here to amuse myself. The track itself is pretty relaxing for me, IMHO.

I'm torn between doing Letty's theme or Minoriko's theme next. :|

Flipped a coin, and Minoriko won. Well it's actually because I couldn't think of a good mix for Letty's theme.
This track is as serious as the video image. Too childish, I guess. I winged this mix in a single go, mostly.

I was too ambitious. Something easier next time...

the beginning is a little messy (didn't know what to listen to) but i liked it when the main melody started!

After much delay, I finally finished it. I actually started on this before Inada, but I got bored with it quickly. I picked it up again a few days ago.

The beginning feels like you cut some of the intro out... the bass pad starts on an odd note. I like what you did with the beginning otherwise, but man, you gotta do something with those drums... And I mean, have more than a bass drum and a crash cymbal! I don't have much to say about the rest because it seems not much changed from the original other than cleaner instruments... Sounds alright though.

That guitar sample... it's so overpowering! :V

It almost sounds like there's something cool going on with a piano around 1m10s, but I cannot hear it. I would recommend giving the guitar a break because it plays through the entire song, and let some of the other instruments shine a lot more. It'd be cool if the guitar crescendoing would cut off right before that section, and we get to hear the piano and everything else! I'd comment on the guitar sample itself, but I know how hard it is to get a good guitar sound without actually having a guitar T_T I cannot comment too much on the arrangement as it sounds very similar to the original. The guitar needs to disappear sometimes though. Having it always playing diminishes the powerful effect it could have on the song.

I like your stuff. Even if I think the arrangement could be more original, it still sounds good! I'm not familiar with all the tunes unfortunately, but I like the slower arrangements of the tunes I do know! That said, my favorite on your channel has to be Withering Leaves. I am curious though, what DAW and VSTs did you use to make all the songs on your youtube?

I really like the songs, especially the Eastern Wind, it sounds like what would be right before a final boss or the climax of a story. Is kind of strange though, not in a bad way, but I can't really figure out if the piece is depressing or tense, and at times rather hopeful? Just an interesting observation, I do really like it though.

Edit: Just listened to it again, despite crashing my Flash, and the beginning sounds rather tension building, I could really picture it before a big reveal, and then at the one minute mark it gets kind of happyish(?), but still sounds a little sad, especially with the ending. I really could picture a scene where the music is playing as the Heroes arrive to confront the evil villain in a final showdown, somewhere near the end the music would be cut off by the battle music, but would come back in for the final moments, and then... the credits.
Sorry for Rambling, I just like the song a lot, it interests me.

Rambling is okay. I ramble a lot myself.

I was playing SoEW when I was mixing. I tried to capture the feeling of the first stage.
I really liked that stage, especially at the part when it starts to rain (after defeating the YinYang Tank IIRC) so I tried to capture the buildup of the atmosphere, kind of like the eerie humidity just before a heavy downpour.

Mix-wise, the track did not really deviate much from the original version, although it has added dynamics and special effects.
