That's an unfortunate glitch in the game. I don't know what triggers it for sure, but it seems doing just that is the cause. So in the future, don't do it.

As for me, I have a lunatic score, but frankly it's terrible. I play to clear and not for score, so people on normal can usually get a higher score than me on lunatic. >.> Still, due to the sore lack of activity:

I can only see myself improving my Extra score by not bombing during the run. Each bomb used within any run reduces the score by ~1.5 million each with Mima. Further, the minor Spirit loss at the end (and the static[?] bonus for No Bombs) is contributing to this, but I don't see it adding up that much.

I guess doing "Bullet Clear" during the most optimal times would also be helpful for the purpose of attaining the highest amount of Point Items, which play a large factor in the Final Bonus, and being there for Base Score purposes.

I wonder if a 500 Extend! is possible. If on Normal, I can obtain ~460 with Reimu, then surely... it may be possible.
