>"No promises on that. Maybe one day my mouth might accidently slip to Marisa about thqt possession." Say this in a joking manner.

> "As long as nothing else slips from your pocket to hers," she jokes back.

>"Would this work on my Dash, that Fire pony?"

> "No. It does work on simisear and eevee, but ponyta won't evolve like that."

> You decide to look up where you can catch some of those pokemon later.

>"I wish you luck in your travels."

> "Hope the camper isn't dead." Patchouli hang's up.

> The ranger speaks up. "Alright, where is everyone going?"

> "I'm visiting my aunt in Ecruteak," the older man says.

> "I'll go wherever," says Nick.

> You pipe in, "Olivine".

> "Understood. Nick, you go with Mokou. William, you're with me." The ranger gives and takes down everyone's number. "William and Mokou can go their way once we find the lost camper, Nick and I will make sure he gets to the front gate. So the job is simple. Find Barry. Make sure he's safe. Call me. Get out. Any questions, boys?"

How about if we let the whole gender thing slide, just this once, because someone's lost in a forest? That's kind of, ya know, one of our areas of expertise, guiding people lost in forests.

> The ranger himself obviously knows, since he's been calling you ma'am the whole time. But the bug catchers looks pretty stupid to you; you assumed that your ribbons would be a dead giveaway. It occurs to you that the ranger might be refering to the search party as boys out of habit rather than confusion.

Perhaps also ask him what his team consists of. He might have something new we could want to try for.

Is there any possiblility that the lost camper has left out anything to help us find him? A signal, or so.

> You are somewhat surprised; you did not know you could get Charmander, Squirtle, or Bulbasaur in extra adorable.

> "The contest was a dud. I'm thinking of heading to Union cave, see if I can find a Lapras. A ditto or a magnemite would be nice too."

> He seems knowledgeable; you consider the qualities you look for in a pokemon. You figure he could probably think of something with those qualities if you asked.

Is there any possiblility that the lost camper has left out anything to help us find him? A signal, or so.

> You ponder ways of signaling the camper. There's always fire you suppose. You would want to get to an open area before shooting flames into the sky. You could also have Flint and your new Scyther Edge look around, though they're both a little worn out.

> You send out your entire team. You send Flint and Dash out searching, but you keep the new Scyther close because you don't know if it's fully tamed yet.

> "They're... nice," your companion says.

> What qualities do we specifically want? Besides fire, of course.

> You prefer longevity even to fire. And you think it would be a good idea to have at least one that can put fires out rather than start them. Although really it's whatever you happen to want, so if you have something in mind you should try and describe it.

>And don't forget that his pokemon and ours can get acquainted too!

> "You are a pretty impressive fire-breather. Don't blow it with the bragging," The trainer says. "The only phoenixes are all passed into legend, like Ho-oh and Moltres. Flying types you can teach to breath fire are a different matter entirely. Charizard along with just about any dragon would be what you want."

>"But y'know, I didn't know you could find those guys like that. In extra-strength cute I mean."

> "I know, right? I was hooked up by a breeder south of Goldenrod. She and her husband run a day care service. They were originally supposed to be pets, then I got really into battling. 'cept I haven't had the heart to let them evolve. Someday I suppose..."

> Actually, while we're at it lets ask him about what kinds of Pokemon we can find inside Union Cave.

> "Lots of common things mostly. Zubat, Sandshrew, Onix, Geodude, Rattata... The big draw is the Lapras, but to get deep enough you need a light source and a digger to make a way back out. Even once you get there, there's no guarentee of finding one."

> Question more about dragons. After all, you hail from Gensokyo, with that Dragon-god.

> "Dragonite, Altaria, Flygon, Salamence, Haxorous, Hydreigon, Garchomp... Most dragons are both very tough and very tough to raise. Altaria is the easiest, and even it takes forever. Catching them isn't a walk in the park either, they will put up a fight. Hoenn is a good place to go for dragon trainers that are just starting out, Altaria is a good starter dragon, and Flygon and Salamence are both worth your time. If you hunt dragons you'll want a steel-type and some ice attacks as well; only steel types can resist dragons' attacks, and dragons are resilient to most anything other than ice-based moves."

> "I suppose you could always go for Gyrados, but strengthening a Magikarp is incredibly annoying, and Gyrados are some of the most tempermental creatures imaginable."

>Oh-ho and Moltres are legends? There were more of them?

> "Kanto, Johto, just about every country has it's myths," he explains. "Creatures seen so scarcely that there's debate about whether they're real or merely the delusions of a drunk. A lot of them have been firmly established as true, but they're still in another league."

> "You know, most trainers don't know that Slowpoke can be taught to breath fire," he chuckles, but your question sends him searching through his own pokedex.

> "Well, Hydreigon and Haxorus can be taught how to carry you across water, but..." he rapidly presses the buttons back and forth. "Ah, here we go. It looks like Dragonite and Salamence can both shoot water, but it takes effort. And obviously Gyrados can shoot water. But when it comes to mizing fire with water, Slowpoke and a flamethrower TM are your best bets. Easy to train, impossible to lose, and fairly friendly. They're also slow on the uptake, like with commands. Or at least I think they are, with Slowpoke it's hard to figure out what they're thinking and how long ago they started thinking it."
