> Put her aside for a moment.  Where's the berk that ganked us?

>You ignore the faerie for a bit and look around.
>You are in a small, fairly oval-like cavern whose ceiling about six or so feet overhead. The walls are fairly rough, as is the floor. You can see a corridor leading out one way ahead of you, and another one on a wall to your right that branches up ahead.  You don't see any signs of the silver-haired peasant. Who was that guy?

> What is our usual relationship with faeries, then? do we just ignore them or do we mug them too?

You know, in thinking about it, it makes sense. Kisume inhereted Achey's sense of justice and 'Machi's laziness. She believes everyone should get their fair share, but also that she shouldn't have to work for it.

The one Muffin made. This one I believe.
That's our Kisume for ya.

With all due respect to Muffan, nope. (Danbooru warning)

> Time to blow this joint, then.  Give the faerie a sneer on the way out, and check the one ahead.

>You give the faerie a sneer, and bounce toward the tunnel ahead. "Same to you, pal!" the faerie shouts, then sticks her tongue out at you.
>You make your way into the tunnel ahead. its walls are rough and craggy and the floor a little bit uneven, as is the ceiling.  You notice a little whitish spot on the left wall; a small vein of some kind of quartz. The place is not particularly familiar, you may have pass through it ages ago and not really remembered it... Up ahead, you see the the tunnel turns leftward and seems to descend a bit.

> We know these caverns, so we should know where the silver-haired guy was heading, right?

>You are reasonably sure he was headed toward the Ancient City, which is an unusual destination for a lone human, given the oni, but it's become slightly more common these days...

Unless somebody thinks we should go get revenge on the silver-haired guy instead.

>You might be able to hawk that quartz to someone, but when you try to pull it out, you are unable to dislodge it from the wall. It is much too hard for you to break with your bare hands.
>You try not to shop for food, you prefer to appropriate it. But when you do, you either buy it from Yamame or go into the Ancient City and try not to draw the attention of any oni looking for a scuffle. You succeed in that about half the time.
>Pretty much all the tunnels here are unfamiliar.

>You decide to try to remember where this is, in case you get desperate later. But really, this wouldn't be all that easy to hawk to anyone but a magician that needs quartz for some reason.
>Right now you are not particularly hungry, but you wouldn't say no to a meal, either.
>You listen for the faerie, and it doesn't seem like she's following you. But if she's flying there's a good chance you wouldn't hear her anyways.
>You continue to follow the tunnel as it twists around and descends down further into the earth. The walls and floor are rough at first, but you note that they smooth more and more as you go further onward, while small stalactites cling to the ceiling. Here and there, you note little patches of moss, which confirms there's some kind of water in this area, somewhere.
>Up ahead, you can see the tunnel flare out to what seems to be a fairly large chamber.

> Float gently and silently in.  Keep an eye out for marks.

>You make your way inside, keeping to the air and staying quiet.
>The tunnel flares out to a large chamber, many yards across, and about half that ride. Running through the middle of the chamber is a large ravine, a good ten feet across and deeper than you can easily see. The ceiling is irregular, seeming to range from twenty to thirty feet in height. Smooth rocky ledges and rises dot the floor here and there, creating a number of little hollows and overhangs. Several other tunnels of varying size connect to this chamber.
>You recognize this place; you're some distance west of the Ancient City; this is a place you've largely not bothered with. You think you can find your way back from here.

> Add quest: Get a new bucket. A pimpin' one studded with gems and gold.
> Or some new clothes. Where can a fella' get some clothes around here?

>You considering a new bucket, but you are rather attached to the one you have; it's been with you through thick and thin. But you could always use another back-up one. Hmmm...
>New clothes are always nice, but they tend to be a bit pricey. You could always visit some clotheslines; but that would involve a trip to the surface; robbing an oni clothesline is a bad idea...

>No, you don't think so. That was was further north. You could probably get there from here if you really wanted to. Not that there's much point, from what you've seen the oni picked that place clean.

> Head back to the nice cramped space of the tunnels.
> Is there a place among the tunnels and caverns we particularly like to crash at?
> Do mom and, uh... mom ever visit us or even know where we are?

>You retreat back into the tunnel for now.
>You have a few little caverns not too far from the main tunnel to the surface that you like to stay in. Your main one is where you keep your spare bucket.
>They do not visit, and you're pretty sure they have no idea where you are. You imagine they only know you're still alive because you haven't ended up in some Judge's court.

Remilius, you do realize Kisume's not in her original tunnel, right? I just want to be sure, because I honestly can't tell.

That's kind of confusing. Unless I've missed something, what I gather is that we're not in the surface <-> ancient city tunnel right now, but running around the side-tunnels connected to it. I'm kinda doing something else at the same time as this so I might've missed what pointed out otherwise, it wouldn't be strange if I did. Clarification would be appreciated if that's the case.

No, that's correct. It just seemed like you were treating the current tunnel like it was the entrance tunnel where Kisume normally resides.

I don't usually participate in quests as much as I just read them so that's why my inputs might look a bit off, just the lack of experience I guess.
