However, thank you Awesome for reminding me.

I'm proud to say after 6 attempts I now have a Dragon Maid in my shikigami collection.

Now I need to train my party which consists of Yukari, Youmu, Sanae, Eiki, and Mokou.

I also, need to train some of my shikigamis so, I can see if I can play with some new skills.

Edit: And while running around Muenzuka looking around, I managed to snag me a Shinzo in my party, who was more willing to join.

Powered through Kaguya and Eirin with fire chasers, buffing the hell out of Mokou, and dumb luck.  Levels were 34-35.

Of course I then go straight for the redux fights!  And the poor jiangshi is just as easily trivialized by Buruburu/Koakuma combo, so she's already down!

I [barely] managed to beat the first tower's boss at level 25.  No Jammer, no later weapons (didn't even explore the third stratum), no Koakuma for Dark Illusion.

Fire spell/ability spam + Fire Chaser, burabura (that's the ice one, right?) for its ice barrier spell, and the rest was about not dying.  If you have a character with Earth Wall (I was using the Prismriver sister with it...Lyrica?) that can help your squishier characters survive a melee attack from the boss.

If you're not using Momiji's Provoke skill, do so.

No patch in at least a few days, decided to start it up again. A quick run around the first stratum makes me realize I actually missed Marisa's house somehow.

While I'm taking my trip down memory lane, I'm picking up all the monster shikigami as well. I still have to find the metal yukkuri somehow, but it's rather hard to find. Any ideas where to get this little critter?

They appear in later places too, sometimes en masse.

I've also heard they appear at some first stratum hookshot area that I heard had chests meant to be stuff from the prologue in case you missed it.

Ice Wall completely neuters the boss' offense so I'm not really sure why dying is the issue  :wat:

More interestingly cause you have a pretty solid character lineup going on, so...

I can confirm that that place exists, but I'm not sure about yukkuris there.  There was one chest there with recipes (I think it was the A-C material sets) and a bunch of chests that were already opened for me.

The location east of Eintei sealed off with the "denier" mark has three enemy spawns that can be Yukkuri Sisters.  I have yet to kill one of those bastards before they fled...somehow I managed to avoid getting any multi-hit attacks for my sword users, so I'm gonna have to consult the JP wiki to see what skill they derive from.

At the level I did it, she was capable of potentially one-shotting my squishy characters with her melee attack.  Considering I had Remi (not so durable herself) and three mages, if she got lucky and hit her upper damage range I'd lose a character and have trouble resurrecting them (Ice Wall activates before Resurrection, so a full-screen or column ice attack means they'd die again).

Any specific tips for Kisume? I don't mean beating her - I mean actually FINDING her. I know she's a rare encounter in Hakugyokurou, but after 100+ battles, I've yet to even see her.

I ran into her fairly quickly.  Just keep running around, there doesn't seem to be a way to hurry her up.

@Synas, I ran into 3 Metal Yukkuris yesterday in the Desert Area on the 3rd Stratum.

Just also, a little tip, the Area before where you get the Pass from at Former Flames of Hell seems to have a decent spawn spot for the Yukkuri Sisters.

I always run into them sometimes.

Did you get Oshirasama to join?  While you shouldn't be taking any water damage, Jammer would help with your resists there.

Yes, I do have Oshirasama in my party, I got her while running around the Sanzu River the first time.

So, I'll try to use Jammer.

Like I said, my only gripe with the battle is MP usage, Bloody Water being spammed, and VORTEX SPAM.

Whew, now that I got that out of my system.

I'm proud to say that Jammer did a HELL OF a job on the battlefield.

Now, with that being said, I'm happy as hell that I won and I didn't even need to revive spam, only one time I did and that was Mokou.

Well now, that I'm victorious I'm going to move onto adventuring and of course talking on here, weeeee~!

Yeah I had to spam Chasers also, with Yukari because she apparently does more damage than Youmu.

But, interesting... a valentines day event in Devil of Decline, I must see this now when I get home from college.  :V

Got a few new characters today.  Remilia...seems to be a quick physical glass cannon character.  Eh, I'll stick with my Mokou & Youmu as primary physical attackers, thanks.
Another one...Shikieiki, whom I had to fight as she guarded the way to the 3rd stratum.  Only took two tries.  Once I equipped stuff so Thunderclap had a much lower chance to nuke my party, she was fairly easy.

Think I'll be using her in place of Marisa as a magic nuker.  Eiki has better Dex anyways and a good enough Int growth to make her useful.

Final character I got was Yuyuko.  I'm tempted to use her as my other magical nuker, replacing Sanae.

I think I might go hunt down a couple shikigami tomorrow.  One's in Muenzuka and looks interesting, the other is the one with that ice wall skill in preparation for the 1st tower boss  (Probably would help me to find out where that one is though ;P).

That's starting to sound a lot like my party! :V  Using Yuka to tank, Mokou as primary physical damage dealer (and chaser), Reimu and Yuyuko mostly support with some decent physical and magical damage and Shikieiki as magic nuker.

The shikigami with Ice Wall, Buruburu, can be found in the area directly north of the shrine, by the Three Fairies.  Might take a couple tries, but is eminently worth it.

Requirements:

1. You need to set up the twitter account in the config file.
2. You need to have the food loli shikigami equipped.

Once you meet both of these, go to the shrine for an event. This said event now gives you a quest to get chocolate pieces AND cook them for some reason.  :getdown:

The catch is all of these pieces have a 1% global drop EVERYWHERE - and the drop is modified by how hard the monster is usually. Cockatrices are the exception, since they have a 2.4% drop rate and yet are easy to kill. There's also now chocolate angels that can spawn randomly in random maps.

Is there any sort of demo of this game or anything?  Sounds pretty cool, even if I can't read Japanese, so I'd like to play it, but buying it flat out isn't really an option right now.
