Satori Quest - Day in the Life

>After washing and brushing and dressing, you head out to meet the little rabble. It turns out Yumi is there too.
"Ah, Satori!! Heya, ze!!" Marisa cheers, and you can see her concentration to speak properly in front of you. Reimu looks rather excited, even though she looks like she hasn't slept. In fact, it looks like neither Orin, nor Koishi, nor Yumi has either!!
"Satori, trophies are done. All of them. Haha!!" Reimu yawns, discreetly hi-fives Yumi without even looking. The oni gestures to a large plethora of gold, silver and bronze trophies.
Each trophy has a form of building on it. The gold has a replica of the Palace of the Earth Spirits on it, the silver trophy has the Ancient City town hall on it, and the bronze trophy has a stereotypical Ancient City house on it. They are all expertly detailed.

>Pull ourselves together, and look back to the group. "Well then, you all look as though you haven't slept a wink. Though in Yumi's case, that's to be expected. You were up all night making these masterpieces weren't you? It doesn't take a mindreader to know that."

>Yumi giggles, "Yeah, well, so was everybody else. Yamame and Kisume finished the tramway, and Parsee even helped decorate the buckets. Yeah, they got several buckets now, 'pparently. Koishi and Rin did me a favour. Reim' and I both got a lil' stuck on what to put on th' trophies, and that's where those two stepped in. We've all been working, and it was quite early when Marisa came along. The other one... Yu-... Yu-... Yukari!! Right, yeah Yukari, she was helping us out, giving us tips if we hit a wall, all sorts. We've got most of it down. All we need to sort out now, I think, is decorations and feasts and invitations. We're pretty far 'head."

>Smile. "Well, seems we might be able to have the festival ahead of time~!"
>Smirk. "But it wouldn't do to have some of the guests of honor to be falling asleep during everything. So I suppose we should keep to the plan of having it in ten days....Er, nine now."

>Yumi shakes her head, "Goin' early would nev'r work. If somethin' goes awry before and t' deadline's too close then you ain't got much ya' can do, y'know."
Koishi covers her mouth, giggling, "Yumi, you sound like Marisa did before Satori 'reformed' her!!"
The oni blinks, "Wha'? Satori gives ou' language less'ns?"
Koishi shakes her head, "No-no-no-no! Marisa came in here to rummage for spellcards, Satori caught her and after a long chase and... I forget..."
Orin takes over, "Basically, I had slept overtime, one of my spirits got loose and possessed Marisa! Can we discuss this at a more appropriate time? Preferably after that whole event is long gone!" she half-squeals, half-pleads. She seems really guilty about it...

>Then smile. "Though I can't really expect it to work on Oni. After all, they pride themselves on being not only strong of body, but strong of heart, no?"
>"But to make a long story short, one of Orin's charges slipped it's leash, and got into quite a lot of trouble. The successful resolution of that little spirit's escapades gave me the idea to have a small party....Which then evolved into the idea for the Festival."

>Smirk. "Besides, just because I can read the minds and hearts of others, that doesn't mean that I'm qualified to be a teacher....Well,  except for maybe to any Youkai with a power like mine."

>Yumi chuckles, "That we do, indeedy! We Oni are a strong 'nd powerful species!!" she cheers. After getting weird looks from everyone, she tones down her enthusiasm, "But I guess t'ere are oth'rs too?"

>Everybody smiles, and Yumi raises her eyebrows, "Quite an int'resting story you've got yourself there. Might wanna broadcast that, though whether you should get the tengu to print it is a diff'rent story!!"

>Smirk. "Besides, just because I can read the minds and hearts of others, that doesn't mean that I'm qualified to be a teacher....Well,  except for maybe to any Youkai with a power like mine."

>Marisa giggles, "Well, you could give Keine a run for her money. At least you don't cave anybody."

>Smile. "But at any rate, it's time we get the rest of the events planned out. Perhaps the Oni would be willing to have some Martial Arts demonstrations for the attendees? Simply to show off the power and skill inherent in all Oni."

>Yumi fistpalms, eyes sparkling, "Tha's an awesome idea!! Trust you to come up wi' such epic ideas, Satorin~" she giggles, using a nickname for you already.

>Look to Orin and Koishi. "Orin, Koishi, could you gather all the Oni into the front courtyard? I intend to tell them my newest idea."

>The pair nod and dash to the Ancient City. As they run off, you hear them shouting "I'm going to beat you there!" at each other, and giggling.

>After about three minutes you see a plethora of Oni walk into the front courtyard. Koishi is leading them, Orin is at the back looking for stragglers.

>Halfway there, you see everybody heading upstairs to meet you, so you return to the balcony.

>Alright now. this is it, one of the big moments.
>Clear throat. "*Ahem!* Oni of the Underground! You are likely wondering why I have called you all here yes?"
>Let it sink in a bit before continuing, but be sure to gesture in a sufficiently grandiose manner!
>"I have called you all here to present another idea for the festival, a Martial Arts Demonstration that will be performed by all of you, to show the surface-dwellers the skill and power of the Oni, the pride of the Underground!"
>"Now, I ask you; Are you all ready to make this festival one that will be remembered by all in Gensokyo for countless ages to come!?"
>"Sieg Underground!"



Player's Note: Can you tell that I'm loving having a Hammy Satori? Yes, I have been inspired by this, why do you ask?

>A lot of them mutter to each other, and a few of them nod whilst others shrug. None of them have collapsed into a drunken stupor yet.

>"I have called you all here to present another idea for the festival, a Martial Arts Demonstration that will be performed by all of you, to show the surface-dwellers the skill and power of the Oni, the pride of the Underground!"

>That fires them up. They all cheer and hi-five, little snippets of conversation being heard here and there.

>"Now, I ask you; Are you all ready to make this festival one that will be remembered by all in Gensokyo for countless ages to come!?"

>A massive agreeing uproar ensues, and you see several familiar faces cheering and yelling and raising their fists. It seems they like the idea.

>Turn to everyone else with a smirk. "You see? that's how you make a speech that makes the soul burn with fervor. You say what they want to hear."

>They all blink at you with admiration and surprise, with the Oni still cheering behind you.
"That was..." Marisa begins.
"...so..." continues Koishi
"...awesome!" Yumi finishes with a raucous cheer.

>Everybody nods decisively. All except Koishi, who looks a little dazed. All of a sudden, she stands directly before you with sparkling eyes locked onto your own.
"Please teach me to do speeches like that!!" she begs.

>Sweatdrop. "But Koishi, I thought you picked that up by living with me...Besides, there should be a book on that somewhere in the mansion."

>She mutters to herself, possibly making a mental note.

>Smile in that way only an Older Sibling can. "I think it might be in my study, you're welcome to read the books on the shelves there."
>Glance towards Marisa with a smirk. "And I believe there's books on language there as well, you should read some."

>Reimu bursts out laughing, "Satori, don't trust Marisa with that! She'll just borrow them and say she'll return them soon, but she never does!!"
>Marisa pouts a little, "But I do return them.." Reimu just laughs more.
