Hmm... Nah, I'm hoping for the Hakurei miko to be a bit younger, since it has plot relations.

Crow, Who's she an apprentice to? Some random youkai?

Edit;;
Not gonna Make any decisions tonight. I'm tired, and my brain's half asleep. So gonna go to bed, wake up in the morning, and think about it then. But from skimming they both look good.

Yes, it's a random youkai, unless you will accept a specific character.

All right. If you end up not getting a Hakurei miko, though, the offer's still open.

Name: Kohaku Daidouji
Age: 20
Gender: Female
Abilitiy: Power of Chains. She has the ability to manifest and project up to six lengths of chain, extendable up to 20 feet in length. She can control them with her mind. Controlling more than one chain, however, is very taxing and draining, so she tries not to employ more than one simultaneously. And when she does manifest two or more, she tries not to do anything too complicated with them. A chain separated from her body vanishes after a minute.
She can also imbue her chains with elemental properties, such as fire and ice. Thus far in her young life, those two are the only elements she's proven capable of manifesting. Forest, air/lightning, water, and earth are also possible, in theory, with more time and practice.
As time progress, and she develops her powers more, they will extend to physiological forms of chains as well. For instance, she will be able to see the chains of responsibility, or duty, or grief, or affection, etc. upon someone's heart, see the things that 'chain' them. She will not be able to manipulate the chains of others, only sense them, but she may be able to imbue her own chains with those properties, and employ them against others. A chain is more than a mere weapon, more than a means of control. A chain is a tether, a bond, connecting one thing, one person, to another. That is the ultimate nature of Kohaku's powers.
Occupation: Mario Hakurei Shrine Maiden
Appearance: About 5'6, with long lavender hair and pale blue eyes. Usually wears a long kimono, white with a cherry blossom motif, with a purple and blue obi. Wears a silver ring with a ruby jewel, a gift from her brother before he ran away from the village, and a stylized silver lotus hairpin.

Personality: Despite being relatively wealthy, she knows the value of a dollar. She's very generous, and selfless, always willing to help people when they need. Intellectual and soulful, she can usually be found either with her nose in a book, or her hands on one of the instruments she plays. Very friendly in general, but she prefers the company of youkai, and does odd jobs for Keine whenever she can find the time. Hates lying and being lied to, she tries to avoid even little white lies that everyone tells. Her past makes her a little slow to truly trust another, but she still enjoys making friends whenever she can. If anything, she doesn't have a sense of her own true worth, as the two people in her life she's cared most about have both left her. A very sensual person, but in moderation, believing in the importance of physical pleasure, but never excessive amounts thereof. She holds herself to personal truths such as "rest without sloth", "sex without exploitation", "luxury without greed" and others in a similar vein. And always puts others' pleasure, others needs, before her own.

Background: Eldest daughter of a jewelcrafter in the human village.  A former student of Keine's, like most people her age in the human village, the lessons taught on the races of youkai left a strong impression on the young Kohaku. She became fascinated by youkai at a young age, wondering how they could seem so human, yet be more than simply human. She spent as much time around youkai as could, which wasn't as much as she might have liked, given that she lived in the human village. Indeed, she may have left for youkai mountain, were it not for her family asking her to stay. They would have wanted her to stay, anyway, but the departure of her brother Koryu made her want to stay all the more, for their benefit.
She was the 'good' child of the family, her younger brother Koryu having powers of his own, but not as content with life as she was. He was frustrated by the prospect of having a mere human lifespan, and saw himself as somehow better than the normal humans his own age. Needless to say, he was not well liked about town, and some say that it was only his love for his sister that kept him in line for as long as he was. When Kohaku was 18, he left the village in the middle of the night, vowing to find a way to become a youkai himself. While most villagers were not entirely displeased to see the angry young man leave, Kohaku certainly was, as were the rest of their family.
Kohaku found true love when she was 17, or at least she thought she had. A travelling youkai woman by the name of Haine breezed into town and decided she liked the cut of young Kohaku's jib. She stuck around for a while, and took quite a shine to both young Daidoujis, helping both of them refine their powers as best as she could, teaching Kohaku to play the flute and the ocarina, and Koryu to play the piano, in addition to enjoying their company. In more ways than one, in Kohaku's case. Koryu was a little too young for her. After a few weeks, however, Haine's wanderlust got the better of her (or so she told the Daidoujis) and she breezed out of town just as suddenly as she came. It took quite some time for Kohaku to recover from this, but if one good thing came of it, she was better prepared to cope when her brother left a year later. Kohaku has since vowed to find both of them, one day. Well, two good things, as Haine helped the young woman understand her own sexuality. A fact she has enjoyed since.

Other: Her family's been friendly with youkai for generations, going back even to when human-youkai relations were not as rosy as they are now. Some villagers wonder if there's not a bit of youkai blood in the Daidouji family tree somewhere. If there is, however, it shows no overt signs, apart from Kohaku and her brothers' special powers, but as there are truly pure humans that have powers of their own, this is not proof. Kohaku, for her part, wishes it was true. She also plays the flute and the violin, but prefers the wood ocarina she received as a parting gift from Haine, the youkai she loved.

Oh, don't feel obligated to sign up just cause I did, YJ.

Sonae, Tetsumaru isn't prohuman, or I wouldn't say he's really taken a side. He's defended the human village before from youkai, but if there was a raid of bandits he'd do so too. If pressed, he'd probably respond that he was prohuman, but only to escape the interrogation.

----------

Year 159. Winter. New Years Eve. Dawn.  Location, Hakurei Shrine.

The abandoned shrine sits silently in the darkness. Not a single sound is heard. Nothing stirs, not even the wind blows. Human and youkai alike are sleeping in their cozy beds, dreaming. All of Gensokyo is still, as if it was just a photograph.

As the time slowly passes, a faint light begins to glow at Gensokyo?s edge. As the dim light reaches the desolate shrine, a figure appears from darkness.

A tall woman steps out onto the snow covered pathway. Her clothes are extravagant, decorated with countless frills and ribbons. She holds a lace parasol in her hands, much like one would rest their hands on a cane or a scepter. She gazes at the uninhabited shrine. Her expression is devoid of emotion, her eyes as sharp as a needle.

As more light begins to pour into Gensokyo, the marvelous scenery becomes more visible.
The woman stands silently and firmly, her gaze locked onto the shrine.
Moments of silence pass slowly, making them seem eternal.
As the sun reaches the horizon, the silence is broken.
?Yukari-sama.?
The woman shifts slightly, turning her head just enough to gaze at her shikigami from the corner of her eye.
?The unrest amongst the youkai is growing. If something isn?t done soon??
?Ran.?
?Yes??
The woman turned to face her subordinate.
?I?ll take care of it.?
?Ah-?
Her eyes met with the fox?s, immediately silencing her.
??I understand.? Was all the shikigami could say in the face of her master.
Without a moment?s hesitation, the fox vanished, as if she had teleported to somewhere far away.

The woman turned her gaze back to the shrine.
?It?ll be soon, don?t worry.? She whispered.
She stood there, as if she was watching over the shrine.
And she did so until the sun had risen into the sky.

I'm seeing alot of polearms around here...

Crow Cakes is Accepted

As for the rest of you, I'd like for you to consider where we'd end up if everyone had a polearm.

There are a few of NPOC's that are purely melee based. In particular, there is one that WILL be able to shatter thin flimsy weapons with a single punch.

Anyways, I'm nto saying polearms aren't allowed. But I'd prefer if people were a little...unique with their weapons.

Amra, Does Tetsumaru wield both a spear and a sword?

He has a spear only, at this point. He hasn't developed any of his powers at all, so he doesn't have a sword unless he's delivering wares from the forge.

Actually, I'll change it to a canesword, if that's not a problem.

He'd make a split decision based on what he sees as it collides with the shield, and that would determine the effect. Of course, if he's vastly outpowered, then it wouldn't matter at all.
If it comes down to it though, anything that he's never imagined would probably break it.

GYMO, Question. Define 'Prepared for anything she can imagine' Like what sort of things would she have ready?

Literally anything she can think of. It's kind of hard to think of a supposedly-imposible situation in Gensokyo, where the impossible happens all the time, so I'll use an example from a previous use of the Laresa character, in a Pokemon story. She was a traveling trainer, and she kept in her pack a photo album. In this album were photos of locations all around the world. She compiled the album herself, and did so for one purpose: in the event that she suddenly finds herself instantly relocated (meaning teleported to an unfamiliar location), she compares the photos with her surroundings to get an idea of where she is. This isn't nearly as crazy a scenario in Gensokyo, but it should give you an idea. When I say 'anything she can think of', I'm not exaggerating. If she finds herself chained up in a basement, she has a plan for that. If she finds herself under attack by flying wolves, she has a plan for that. If she has to get from point A to point B without arms or legs, she has a plan for that. If she gets swallowed by a giant crow that then gets eaten by giant leeches, she has a plan for that (I did say she was kind of crazy). There is, of course, no garuntee that her plans will work, but she does have them.

And if that makes her sound too capable, well, I can assure you that when I actually play her, it won't come across that way at all.

i hate myself so let's DO THIS

Name: Yamagishi Senri 山岸千里
Age: 19
Gender: Male
Ability: The power to banish earthly desires; that is, Senri has the power to erase from any being their material wants, and see things from a different perspective. It seems to be powerless at times, but depending on the situation, could be quite useful. To be more detailed, it operates either on a surface level (through speech) or on a low-level (through phantasmic means).
Occupation: Works over at the Human Village's teahouse, basically he helps make and serve tea there. He is a huge tea fanatic and greatly enjoys the time he spends working there, and it does help that he gets to chat with the locals who frequent the place about... things in general!

Appearance: Senri is fairly short, somewhere around five foot six, and has an unusually lithe figure for a guy. One could say that he was almost considered as born a girl but after a few months they found out he was a boy! Crazy. As a result, his body is extremely delicate and at times can be pretty soft; therefore it is fairly frail, and one should be careful not to knock him around and about (that also means he can't take hits very well). He has very neatly kept silver hair, it would be long but it was tied into twintails, which are kept in place by a small red ribbon on each side. He is often seen wearing a very distinctive furisode kimono (it is a kimono with very long, flowing sleeves like this picture) which is black in color, and has a very minimalistic floral motif, mostly consisting of sakura blossoms in the corner. The same motif can be seen on the sleeves. One does not see what kind of footwear Senri wears, leading to confusion as to what kind of geta he wears due to the distinctive clatter he makes whenever he walks. Some people say that he wears a tengu's one-tooth geta, but generally that is considered an outrageous claim as that would have to make Senri's balance skills beyond godlike for a human to both deliver tea AND walk around in tengu's one-tooth geta. He looks basically like an incredibly dainty girl.

Personality: Senri is the kind of person who tries to be compassionate to those around him, except if they are obviously "bad people," which usually tends to consist of people Senri find unruly or fall under his definition of unjust. What is his definiton of unjust? Well, the typical definition you hear in the stories, one would suppose; the kind who would kidnap your girlfriend and make you travel a bazillion long distances only to magic her away to another place. He's quite caring and very empathetic towards their needs but if he can't cater to them, he'll at least try to hear them out and offer to be a comforting hand. His parents were quite strict about that, anyway - always convincing him that his appearance was to help him travel the path of being a "good person" but Senri has never understood that yet. He also really likes tea. Like, he really really likes tea. Outside of the compassionate aspect, he's in some ways a pretty talkative person if you bother to approach him at all and bug him about something - he'll only shoo you away if he's busy but he will still most likely return to your attention. In other words, he's kind of like the school nurse in most stereotypical animu that have them, only less one-dimensional and more dynamic as a character.

Background: Senri's name was chosen because it literally meant 1000 li, signifying that he'd be able to go a long way in life. Well, that's what Senri's dad said, anyway. The name actually came from his mother who encountered a strange spirit before she gave birth to Senri, or rather, a strange mountain cat who had uttered some strange things to her. Most people who first read Senri's name mistakenly pronounce his name as Chisato, because it uses the same kanji, but is incorrect. He has an older sister by the name of Aika, who acted as a caretaker towards Senri which influenced the way he lived a little bit. Aika had already been trained under their mother and father in the way of the naginata, so she served as somewhat of a strong protectorate figure for the young Senri. Soon, when Senri had turned ten or eleven years old (he doesn't remember), his parents decided to have him take up the art of the katana. Aika was against it, saying he was much too young to be able to handle a blade like that, but the mother said it would be fine. They had him work with a bokken first, and had him trained similarly to one studying general kendo, and after the boy had learned the fundamentals after one or two months, they handed him one of their family heirloom blades.

The heirloom blade in particular seemed not to be a katana at all, to Aika's horror, but a terribly heavy ootachi, or rather, terribly heavy at the time, since Senri was still incredibly young. He struggled to actually lift it and that's when the dad decided to increase his strength through basic martial arts training... It wasn't actually for practical martial arts, rather to increase the boy's arm strength, endurance, and balance. It wasn't very intense at all, which relieved Aika and the mother. It's worth noting that the father worked as a blacksmith and the mother was... Usually out most of the time, only the dad knew where she was at any given time and always said "she was out on business." Senri learned to appreciate tea when he was about thirteen years old, as he would always drink tea after a strenuous time of training, and learned to love the drink so much that when he was older, he wanted to work at the teahouse in the Human Village, so he worked there. Of course, at that time, he was a lot stronger and could actually lift his ootachi without too much difficulty. While the training did help him with his inner strength, his body still wasn't well-built to withstand physical hits, which is why the dad tried not to make training too intense. But it was still a lot for Senri.

Eventually, Senri learned his origins; his name was actually based off the true form of his mother, an actual senri, or the highest form of bakeneko (化け猫) who fell in love with his father and instead of outright killing him by stealing all of his life, only did it incrementally so that they could continue living together. Senri's mother was always out because she was hunting, or fraternizing with her fellow bakeneko. But that left another question - how was Senri actually /born/, then? After all, his mother was a bakeneko, so that left a big question mark in his head as to how he was born. After some snooping around, Aika explained to him that she was adopted, and you were the result of some phenomena similar to a "magicked" birth, that is, his mother and his dad worked together to have another woman bear Senri, explaining his human roots. Basically similar to surrogate mother but not quite.

Presently, Senri works at the human village teahouse and always keeps his ootachi on at all times in case of dire emergencies. Rarely does he actually go out and fight youkai unless they appear in the village to threaten those who cannot defend themselves. Else he just helps them.

Other:

Weapon
妙墨宮大太刀 (Myouzumiguu Ootachi) reference
Total Length: 194.0cm
Blade Length: 144.0cm
Guard Length: 7.0cm
This particular blade is fairly non-descript, it does not have any elaborate markings or motifs on it, however, the steel alloys used in making this particular weapon are quite distinctly special, because they can resist climate change. It is unknown how exactly this weapon was made, though it's rumoured to be a gift to Senri's father's ancestors, thus it became passed down like a family heirloom. It is always kept wrapped around in red bandages, with a tied rope around it to keep it secure (think Sagara Sanosuke from Rurouni Kenshin) which he holds around. He manages to do this while still serving tea, which is a pretty interesting note.

Style
Senri is more defensively oriented, using the weight of his opponent's attacks to his own advantage, since his ootachi is incredibly heavy, if he forces back the opponent's attack he will gain momentum and be able to retaliate with more ease than if he started with his own offensive. He is more focused on surviving due to his frail build, which further drives his defensive strategy. He also tries to minimize the amount of blood shed, always using the flat of his blade to attack rather than the edge or the tip of the blade. Due to the weight of the weapon, it can still do considerate amounts of damage.

Lmao. That's epic in a way.
But would she be ready for something that is thought to not exist in Gensokyo~?

But on that note.

I like it.
A fighting game style title for Takuma would be something like...
"Hotheaded Mage of The Azure"
Weather: Blue Sky
Essence RO
Eiji Komatsu L1xx/6x CritsinX | Ryoshima Nanbu L7x/4x Crafting Blacksmith

Arbitrary Gaming~!
Youkai Quest: Unknown Adventure

Eh. I wouldn't say Blue Sky is really his temperment. Seems more suited to my character.

Btw GYMO, can she mimic an ability she can't see/isn';t aware of? Such as Koishi's Subconscious Manipulation

Well, it was either that, Scorching Sun, Diamond Dust, or Hail.
The former for his use of the fire-based rune, Thurisaz, as well as his over-the-top and hotblooded personality.
And the latter two for his use of two cold-based runes, Isuz and Hagalaz.

Yes.

As for her mimicing ability, well, to put it in terms she uses, when an ability is used within her range, she automatically takes an imprint of its essence, and can mimic the ability as long as this imprint lasts for (which, as previously mentioned, is longer the closer she was to the use). Since the imprinting happens automatically, yes, she's able to mimic abilites she isn't aware of the use of, because she gets the imprint anyways (which, incidentally, also informs her that the ability is being used).

OKay.
She wont be able to mimic all abilities. Or atleast she shouldn't try to. Koishi's will be inaccessible due to same rule applying  to the Subconscious. as for some other abilities, if she were to use them, they might just kill her.

Anyways, heres some titles to give you all a preview of what or who is to come.

Eternal and Undying Flame
Youkai of Black Rain
Darkness Lurking in Everyone's Soul Satori title ripoff
Daughter of the Highest Heaven Even higher than Tenshi!
The Fastest Living Being

Pre-edit;;
Ancient?!

Edit;; THERE'S TOO MANY EDITS
Feel free to take a shot at guessing the titles. Who, and what they are, and what their ability is.
