I think Flandre's a nice girl prone to psychotic outbreaks while Nue's more like a trollish prankster. (After reading what I just wrote, now I wonder why I prefer Nue, since I consider myself somewhat nutty.)

This one could go either way, though if Flandre wins I'm hoping for a Scarlet Sister Showdown.

People should also remember that Nue is the one who called in Mamizou, if that counts for anyone.

I'm fairly indifferent towards both characters, but that edges Nue ahead just a bit.

Not really convinced about Aya being moe, especially above Ran, but I'm not even trying to understand the fandom anymore. And I think I'll pass on this round - given the scarlet fanboys the match is as good as finis- Holy crap!

Ironically when i read this i mixed up Life of Maid and rapattu's comic for a few seconds which reminded me of paperbag Nue. :V

Well, I'm amazed. I wouldn't have thought Nue would get even half as many votes. My guess is that Flandre haters are just trying to take her out becuase they don't like her, rather than bacause they actually like Nue, but still, the fact that are so few votes in total is kinda weird. :wat: Oh well, I won't mind too much if Nue wins, but a Scarlet sister showdown would have sweet.

This battle has been pretty epic, it's like watching at ping-pong battle take place where the score is tied and the next one to beat their opponent wins the match.

But like said when I gave my analysis, Nue and Flan have so much in common in their physical department that it's very balanced. What they have that makes them different from one another still evens out. It's really going to come down to the smallest things to decide the winner here. It's definitely been one of the more "fun" battle thus far and I'm looking forward to the end results.

Exactly. I was kinda rejoicing that Sanae haters helped us take the Utsuho round, but now the hater effect is backfiring...

Isn't voting against the person you like less kind of the point when there are only two choices to vote for?

Like obviously the first brackets were skewed to basically come down to one character versus another with the other two choices getting a number of votes that is nothing close to representative (Keine v Reisen being the most notorious example of people choosing Keine just to spite Reisen), but when you can either choose one or the other, obviously people aren't going to pick the one they don't like.

I think most of the time, when someone likes neither character, they just don't vote. My problem with the hate voting is that moe generally doesn't get factored in at all. I'd guess most people voting against Flandre don't like her simply because she's popular, or at least more popular than they think she should be. So they vote against her because everyone else likes her, rather than because of any fault with the character herself. Notice you never hear of unpopular characters (Letty or Mystia for instance) getting a lot of hate from the fanbase.
That said, if you legitimately think that she's totally un-moe, than voting against her makes perfect sense.

Yeah, ok. Utsuho>Sanae left me kind of speechless, Aya>Ran slightly less but it only added to the whole thing. Not gonna let haters ruin three rounds in a row.

How is that so? I don't really find Nue really moe, but I still feel she should win here. I just can't bring myself to ignore Flan's crazy side enough to consider her moe - in fanon she has the most blood on her hands out of all characters, rivaled only by Yuuka, and whatever canon we have about her kinda suggests she's not exactly sane either, human eating and all.
Won't really be upset if she wins though. I'd still prefer the winner to be picked as a favorite instead of the result of the opponent's hatedom, which I believe ruined Sanae's chance (along with people who prefer fanon Okuu to her canon self due to a verbal tic and rabid Sakuya fanboys, who consider her an enemy).

I don't think there's anything in canon that suggests Flandre has ever killed anyone, or even left the mansion before. Maybe her idea of a game was shooting danmaku, but Suwako does the same thing and nobody calls her crazy. Fanon's run amok with Flandre, but I think she's one of the least villanous characters in Touhou, and as someone said earlier, fanon should be ignored when it's garbage.
I also think Nue is pretty moe too, and it's shame one has to be eliminated... but Flandre is Flandre.

Anyway, this is really getting down to the wire. :ohdear:

Stuff about voting; Voting for someone because you like them more than the other is identical to voting against someone because you like them less. Both methods are relevant for a popularity contest. Not a moe contest. If you think both are moe, vote for whoever you think is more moe. If one of them is moe, vote for them. If neither are moe, don't vote. Whoever you 'like' more out of non-moe related aspects shouldn't matter even for a second. Of course, this is the problem with these last rounds.

If Nue isn't moe but Flandre is 'less' moe, no one should be giving a damn, because you're supposed to be voting for someone you think is moe. I realize you're trying to back me up on this, but you're kind of falling for the same trap!

As for me, Nue isn't moe simply because there is nothing there to make her moe. Her looks don't do anything for me (this is subjective, of course). Her personality is chaotic, but in a calculated way - she's aware of what she's doing, she's around for a while, built up a name for herself, did the whole UFO scouting thing. Especially compared to Flandre, who is just a walking time bomb. She's unpredictable and childish, which is frightening and cute at the same time. Dunno, makes for moe material for me. Not to mention I like her looks much better. Regarding the blood - never really turned me off before. It's not like she walks around with blood all day long. Just because she's a vampire doesn't mean she should automatically relate to blood. You could be 'disgusted' in the same way by Nue's... things coming out of her back.

In other news, 6 minutes left and Nue's leading by 1 vote.

The Devil and the fairy

Remillia Scarlet vs. Koakuma

Remillia Scarlet

Pros: Vampire, Charismatic standards, young appearance, pinkish/red design, strong sense of leadership, sophisticed, ojou-standards, and yet can be surprisingly cute behind her royal personality.

Cons: Can act like a spoiled brat to some

Star Saphirre

Pros: fairy, long hair, cute personality, (technically) the smartest of the three fairy, nice design
Cons: Really doesn't have much going for her without the trio in play, also hasn't appeared in much other than the comics and the one game

Advantage: Remilia Scarlet

This is a very one sided match. Once again Remillia should be able to take this in the back mainly because of who she is what she represents. She is the head symbol of the SDM pretty much. Her standards, personality and traits (along with her hidden cute factor) can make her really moe in the eyes of most.

Star, like the other fairies of the trio really only has her looks going for her here....nothing much else. And doesn't make a big standout without the rest of the trio. So in I think this match we will see the end of the fairy trio pretty much. Look on the bright side Star, you held out along with Sunny pretty well. But until you get some addition screen time outside of a game and a (big!) comic series. It kinda limits your popularity.

So yeah, the Ojou-sama gets my vote!

It would have been cool if two of the three fairies faced each other. Oh well, I can't say I find Remi to be all that moe, but she beats Star's lack of any outstanding qualities.
I'm kind of dissapointed about Flan going down, but Nue's cool too. As long as Patchy's still in it I'm happy.

Well, I'm surprised I managed to get this far without having to do this...

The result of Match 43 has been reversed. Flan is declared the winner.

One user, the owner of a Sony-Ericsson W880i running Opera Mini and connecting from the network of Mobile TeleSystems JLLC (46.56.64.0/19) voted four times for Nue.
This person did not know that Opera Mini sends the full phone information with each request, including the originating IP address behind the proxied request.

Just because you manage to cheat and sneak one past the computer does NOT mean I won't find it later and change the scores accordingly.
I check every match by hand.
