Pockets of lag
« on: November 09, 2011, 12:22:37 AM »
Recently I've been getting pockets of lag and not sure why. The only thing I'm now doing differently is playing the games on the TV instead of the laptop and I added the VSync patch for 10D. I would understand if 10D is having a problem but its not just 10D its all of them. If I play the games on the TV I don't have this issue but for some reason if I play it off the laptop I get the issue. I've checked task manager and not having any CPU issues. I only use half my CPU when it happens. If anyone could help I would appreciate it.

You mean input lag or game lag? The former can definitely be caused just by it taking too long for the computer to transfer it over to the TV and convert signals and all sorts of junk, but of course it isn't necessarily the case.

Does the same happen without the Vsync patch?

game lag, sometimes the game freezes for a moment and plays normally again. I tried playing the game using the TV and it worked fine. I don't know if working with 2 monitors has messed with things but I have to play with things a little more. Yea I have tried it with out the Vsync patch and still had lag issues. I'm not having a problem when I play with the TV just when I only have the laptop monitor.

I fixed it, I think. In the display settings I had it set to "Show Desktop Only on 1". I changed the settings to "Duplicate these Displays" and I haven't had an issue yet. I've tried the EOSD at least twice and going to test the other games.
