And here we go, the second and final batch of pictures, documenting my days on the Connichi!
Have fun~
The Connichi takes place right in the middle of the city of Kassel, so when I arrived the first thing I did was scout around the place, overwhelmed by the amount of stuff that was already going on despite it being barely past 9am.

Let's start off with something for the Basara-fans: Masamune Date!
Then I headed into a park that was part of the con-area and was the most popular spot for taking pictures, for obvious reasons.

Sailor Moon, whichever-season-version! Those wings were well done.

I have no idea what character this is, but she looks cool.

Very well done Digimon cosplay. This one was very popular with photographers for obvious reasons.

A maid offering the great Johann Wolfgang von Goethe some tea. He does not seem interested though.

After finishing a first round, I came across Sailor Moon again, this time posing together with the moon princess.

The Pokemon-fans will surely be able to tell which two those are. If those costumes were home-made, they were done extremely well.

Scratch from Ice Age and some girl I don't know. Those two had a lot of pictures taken as well, though Scratch's eyes looked kinda creepy.

Fye from Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicles.

No idea about the characters, but beautiful dresses nontheless.

Pyramid Head and a scary nurse from the Silent Hill series.

Madoka! There were a small number of Madokas around, I saw a handful of Homuras and at least one Sayaka and Mami as well.

This guy practically spent the whole day standing around completely motionless, switching to a different place every few hours.

Another one for "Guess the cosplay", because I have no idea.

I'm not sure about what those two represent either. If I had to guess I'd say WoW, but I'm not sure.

One of the photographers said that she looked exactly like one of the British queens as a young woman.

Hayate from Lyrical Nanoha.

That weapon was freaking huge.

I have a feeling I know this one, but I can't figure it out. If someone knows, feel free to post it.

Kamina-sama! Yokos! Nia~ ! There was at least one other Kamina around, but he didn't have the cape or the glasses. Blasphemy!

More Digimon, and well done ones.

Again, no idea about the series and characters. The girl on the left had the butler-behavior down perfectly though. When I saw her and the girl on the right taking a break at some point and sitting down, the butler-girl stood by and motioned her companion to sit down with an elegant movement, it was a wonderful sight.

Dead Master and Black Rock Shooter

A Blazblue cosplay-group. There were quite a number of Blazblue cosplayers around at the con.

Again no idea about the character, but it looks nice.

Odin Sphere cosplay, showing four of the five main characters from the game. I had spotted these before, but Gwendolyn had been working on her costume for some time, and I checked back several times to see if she was done.

Three more I don't know.

It's the Beatles! And at least two of those are girls, so you are looking at Beatles-crossplay! That's a word one does not get to use often.

Completing another round I passed the Odin Sphere group again, only to see it had grown in size quite a bit. There was a Cornelius in Pooka-form around, that I didn't get to take a picture of. I did however get to capture this Maresa/Mercedes (whichever you prefer), and more Gwendolyns. Especially liking the two on the left, since they have the skirt-wings and all <3

Of course there were several Star Wars cosplayers around as well.

Rapunzel from Tangled, with her trusty pan.

Someone tell me what character this is, because it looks absolutely awesome.

Only got a snapshot while passing by, but the Dr.Who fans should recognize this. I'm pretty sure that cosplayer traumatized several children that day.

This character is the highest angel from Angel Sanctuary, and goddamn look at those giant wings! You could see this guy from practically every point in the park with those things. Apparently he's kinda infamous in the cosplay-scene, because the character is supposed to be the most beautiful being in existence, and some say that this simply shouldn't be done by a middle aged guy. Most people love his cosplay though.

Pon Pon PataPon! Technically an easy cosplay to do, but that doesn't make it any less cool.

The Edelweiss from Valkyria Chronicles and its soldiers, amongst them a Welkin and an Alicia! I had seen this tank being built up all throughout the morning already, and finally it was done. When they had assembled it, this group had the Valkyria Chronicles BGM playing aloud from their car, creating an awesome atmosphere. They also had a plushie of the winged pig Hans (iirc), that is kind of a mascot character in the game.

Avatars from the movie Summer Wars. Another thing I wouldn't have expected to see, and they pulled it off well. I can only recomment this movie btw.

It took me a while to figure out what kind of shoot I walked into here, but apparently it was a Clamp-photoshoot. Lots of nice cosplays in there.

At this point I joined the Okami-photoshoot, since I absolutely love that game, plus there was a girl I know in the group. Most of the characters are different gods from the game, which are originally all animals. In this picture we also have the fireworks master with them.
Amusing side-info: The mother of one of the girls in the group was also with us, and she was cosplaying as Dolores Umbridge from Harry Potter. The looks of Harry Potter cosplayers when they recognized her, especially ones doing Gryffindor characters, were priceless.

We went into the park to take some more group shots, and while the fireworks master left, Ammy and Ammy joined. That is, human form Amaterasu, and... real Amaterasu.

Best Amaterasu cosplay ever. No human can even dream of matching this.

Another Summer Wars cosplayer, this time with the flag from the movie.

Parade of the Gods

And a last group shot.
This ended the Saturday, and Sunday was spent with the Touhou-group I posted before.
However, it didn't end there.
The real hilarity began after the Touhou-meeting ended.
It was early afternoon, and activity was beginning to decline rapidly all around. It had also started raining. We still had several hours to spare, so I teamed up with Byakuren and Utsuho, and we seeked shelter from the rain.
When it finally stopped raining, Byakuren was massively bored and decided she needed something to do.
That's when she came up with something she had planned to do anyway. You see, Byakuren was a massive Pokemon-fan, and where others collect Pokemon in the games, she vowed to collect Pokemon cosplay all around.
Thus began Byakuren's Pokemon hunt.

We searched through the whole con-area, looking for scattered Pokemon cosplayers. Everytime we found one, Byakuren would run over to them squealing happily and ask them for a picture in such a cute way that noone would ever have dared to deny her request.
We managed to catch a number of Pokemon, amongst them this:

You may d'awwwwww now.

We also came across this. I have again no idea what it is from, but it's a robot with a guitar, glowing eyes and Kamina-glasses. How is that now awesome?
Soon though, we had gotten all the Pokemon around the area (Utsuho had been playing Pokemon music on his phone all the time while we did this, to up the hilarity).
Byakuren was getting bored again, and we just "trolled around the park", as Utsuho called it, with
this music playing aloud from Utsuho's phone.
After a while, Byakuren suddenly had another idea.
"I'm going to photograph photographers now, and I'm starting with you!". So with that I had my picture taken.
Then a group with two photographers came passing by, and sure enough, Byakuren ran over to them and cheerfully explained that she's now taking pictures of photographers instead of cosplayers, and asked the two for a picture, which they agreed to do. How could one say no to this girl.
We did this for a while and she caught a number of photographers all around the park, and then this happened:

This is a picture of the guy on the left taking a picture of Byakuren who is taking a picture of the group on the left who are taking a picture of the cosplayer with them. Photo-chain!
That "guy on the left", btw? That's the Yukari from the Touhou-pictures!
Because chain-photography wasn't silly enough, we upped it with circle-photography! There were enough cameras for everyone on the scene, so we stood in a circle and everyone took pictures of everyone.

And with that last bout of insanity, the Connichi ended.
It was a hell lot of fun, if a bit tiring what with all the walking around all the time. Definitely worth it, and I'm most likely going to go there again next year,if only to meet everyone from the Touhou-group again.
I'm also extremely grateful to the friend who gave me his "old" camera (which was one of the best ones of 2009) when he got a newer one, because it allowed me to take all those wonderful pictures despite the not really ideal weather conditions.
Hope you enjoyed this show, and feel free to tell me about who all those cosplays I didn't recognize are!
