Can't get Key Config to work in GFW
« on: September 08, 2011, 06:22:22 PM »
So I just got my copy of Great Fairy Wars, all ready to go, I start playing, and I realize the Shot key has to be used rapid-fire. Yay, same thing that made me resell Phantasmagoria of Flower View. -_-

But unlike PoFV, this game has the C key for a standard shot. Okay, fine, so I try to remap the keys so that Z and C are switched, so I can use C for freeze and everything else is like I'm used to. Except that the game does not respond to anything I try to do in the Key Config menu. At all. Tried pressing the arrow keys, Z, C, X, then even tried mashing the keyboard at random, not a single reaction.

I don't know if any of this is relevant, but ah well, I'm running Windows 7, I directly installed the .dll file instead of updating DirectX, and I've been running the game in fullscreen.

So, um...halp?

The key config is for controllers/sticks, not keyboards.

There's a link floating around here for changing the keyboard controls with a different program, I'm sure someone will chime in with that.
Cheating? I cannot even wrap my head around the point of it. Wouldn't you know you had cheated? How on Earth could you maintain crisp certainty of your superiority to all others? And if you're unable to do that, what's the point of anything?

AutoHotkey allows you to make your own scripts and macros for whatever things you need to be done.

If you're too lazy to write your own script, you can always use mine.
