Okay, I've not gotten to doing a full reread, but I was able to gather my thoughts as I slept last night.
First of all, I'm not happy with Reg Shoe trying to rolefish, but if you really want an answer: It's because I use the Neighborizer power offensively. I hit Youmu because I wanted more information and to get a stronger read on her. I did just that. If I didn't, I'd be one of the masses that was throwing dirt around against her, and I'm thankful for this role because it has helped to enlighten me.
Besides, If I had gone the route you appear to suggest, I'd have ended up linking with Arc and Count, which would make me exactly as effective as Moonin was last game.
I counted 3 Scum because we weren't in lylo, but I forgot to add in the likelihood of an ITP.
That said, no one has ever or will ever catch scum because they sound like they're certain about how many scum there are in the game. Sid gets minus points for attempting to bring that up as a point against anyone.
Since I still don't like the case on Youmu, let's debunk it.

unlike SidYoumu wanted to lynch bogmire, but she agreed with My read on Necro Gardna. Since no one else was looking at Bog, she decided to throw her vote behind a Necro Lynch, and then suddenly Kukaku came in with a random defense of Gardna and asked everyone to vote either herself or Youmu. Gardna and Kukaku were not her only two reads, and weren't even her top scum picks until Kukaku saw fit to chainsaw defend someone without even the excuse of having a town based Quicktopic between them. I honestly believes Gardna was some sort of godfather because of Kukaku's tricks.

We have a quicktopic together. Get over it. And before you go "Yeah, a Scum OT" I have a quicktopic with someone else now, and if Pressed, I don't mind if She or I outs who she is either. Unless you're willing to believe that I'm willing to out my entire scumtell in order to move the lynch away from one of our own.

The fact that your making me reread everyone is a waste of time, I find reading who I believe to be scum, and their interactions do quite well.
If the waves are there are we not allowed to use them?
Are you saying we need to completely make new waves when the old ones are still extremely viable?
Are you saying that to use old waves that are likely possible scummy?
Oh so Youmu is the only scum? That's good to know, I didn't think this game would be so easy as to have only one scum.
I think you're overestimating how big pondscum is. you see, Algae, by itself, doesn't make big waves, so of course if you keep going after only the big waves, you'll only find yourself in too deep. Also, I disagree heavily with that second question, since it seems to imply that the old waves are still viable.
Sid has not gone after anyone except Remilia, Gardna, and Youmu. I think Remi is town, and I'm certain Youmu is, too. Sids vote for Gardna was also a safe placeholder vote, since Kukaku was voted to L-2 and therefore Gardna was more likely to not die. The switch to Gardna is exactly what I'm talking about when I'm accusing Sid of not having opinions on anybody, because he could just as easily pull out a vote for anyone out of his tushy and no one would even think twice about it.
