Double Spoiler has always run fine until now. Today, it automatically closes itself while in the loading screen. I have tried restarting, running as administrator and downloading Direct X 9, none of which worked. I haven't done anything unusual in between - just played a few other Touhou games.

My system (Windows 7) is in Japanese Locale (which I'm pretty sure shouldn't matter).

Do you have d3dx9_42.dll in the game folder?

Yes; the game worked until today.

EDIT: I just tried putting the folder into an USB and running it on another computer. It worked, but my save files were lost...

Your old score.dat and bestshots and such should be on the first computer, in C:\Users\You\AppData\Roaming\ShanghaiAlice\th125\

Ok it looks like the problem is with my score.dat file. The game works if I delete it and start over.

Is there any fix to this? Am I doomed to start over?

(Yes, I saved a copy of the old .dat file, which currently prevents the game from loading correctly)
