Frankly I get the impression we have far better circumstantial evidence against her than I expect her to be able to produce against us. If nothing else, the fact that she's been hiding while we've been actively, openly, and effectually investigating and even letting Reimu know about the whole mess doesn't paint her in a good light.

Not to mention that she's had a lot more opportunity to organize such a scheme and access wherever the money is hidden (since Nazrin was certain it was above ground, which we can't reach on a regular basis without being noticed) - especially if a search of Nue's bar turns up nothing and Eintei is reluctant to let people investigate Tewi's usual places. Assuming she didn't just hide them anywhere on the surface, given how much more freedom of movement she has.

The Reimu thing did occur to me, yes. As did asking why she didn't tell the people that were hiding her what we had supposedly done, if Rikako's reaction to our news is any indication.

But I've had a feeling for about a thread now that she's not actually the one responsible, and I think she'll be more cooperative if we're not belligerent in accusing her.

Indeed. If nothing else, I doubt she's the only one involved in the scheme. And knowing what she's planning to claim against us is a good thing.

And on the off chance she really is just a bystander, she can give us more info on who's trying to frame us through her. Though why they did so with someone known to be dodgy themselves is questionable...

I'm positive she didn't do the money thing, but she probably took our cards at least

I must admit discomfort at the idea of playing too many of our cards at once. :C

Yeah, I'm not at all cool with laying all our stuff out, let alone going first.

Laying all of what out? I restated the situation and proposed going to Satori. That's it.

You restated the situation as far as Nue is aware. As of yet there is no reason to make that identical to the situation as Tewi is aware. In fact, unless we hear her side first, she'll know more about the situation than us. And we don't need that.

What did I say that hasn't already been said? I mentioned that she seemed suspicious, yes, and suggested going to Satori, but that's hardly telling her much. Both Nue and Tewi know that the other's claiming to be innocent, after all. What exactly could she get from that that she doesn't already know?

Satori is a trump card of informational intimidation, assuming she'd cooperate in the first place (hint: based on previous quests she probably wouldn't). That's not a trivial addition. There's also the psychological aspect of how direct and intense to be with our accusations, and I'm not sure being directly confrontational with her would be the best course of action, if only at this point. You can't effectively start sweettalking after you've started making threats, so let's not burn that bridge yet.

Bah, sorry, I'm making it worse. She's going to be annoying to deal with. Suggestions involve pointing out the fact that we can insist the same thing and we have about the same amount of proof for said claim.

>"Anyways, let's try a different approach: why do you think I'm responsible? And before you answer, no, I don't have the ability to change the appearance of every coin in Gensokyo, so don't say it's because I can do illusions. And don't say it's because I like to 'play tricks', either. Besides, based on Eirin and Reisen's response, you're probably fond of that yourself, aren't you?"

I tend to prefer the direct approach, myself. And Satori wants this solved, too, so I think she'd cooperate.

>"Hey, think what you want," says Tewi.
>You ask her why she thinks you're responsible. She frowns. "Been sampling your own wares a bit too much, maybe trying to keep up with a Deva? Okay, lemme break it down for you. I don't. I was trying to show you how dumb you were being for assuming it was me. Because that was pretty dumb. I was hoping that a counter accusation might open your eyes a bit, because you have just as much proof against you as you do against me. Except even more, because this kind of thing is actually your forte. So think before you just accuse people. And maybe lay off the sauce."
