I never thought I would be excited for a Silent Hill game.
This was just announced today at Gamescon with Hideo Kojima and Guillermo Del Toro leading development.
Also Norman Reedus who acted in The Walking Dead might be playing the role as the main character.

My actions for the past 15 minutes may only be described as "fangirling."

If Akira Yamaoka returns to do music and sound I may lose it even further.

Not a huge Kojima fan, but I do like Del Toro a lot. It'll probably be fine at the very least. I even sort of like the much lesser Silent Hills.
I made a PADHerder. It's probably out of date though.

I used to be a real fan of the series back in the PS2 days. 2 and 3 were both great. 4 had its moments. Beyond that, it hasn't been on many people's radars. A spot of new direction may either revive the series or determine if it should be allowed to just fade away. It's probably a good decision regardless of outcome.

The Silent Hill music at the end gave me the creeps.
I'm not sure about the lighting, looks pretty bright for such a game, though I have mixed feelings.
If the graphics will be like MGS5 Ground Zeroes, especially lighting, with some tweak it might give a great feeling.

Trailer absolutely showed nothing. That was a huge disappointment.

Not to mention the annoying fact that they're forcing it for the PlayStation 4. We all know PS4 is lacking (new) games to make it a popular console. A lot of the gamers are stuck on Xbox and PS3 for obvious reasons. There is simply not much that PS4 offers.

Will there be a PC version of Silent Hills, is what I am wondering.

It will use the Fox Engine which is running on all systems from PS3 to PC. Maybe they will have a release it for all systems like they will do for MGS5 (though the PS3 and XBOX 360 version looks like SHIT)

A PC-version would be more than welcome, though I have mixed feelings about it seeing how the PC got little to no attention during the previous two installments.

Both Kojima and del Toro have excellent taste in monsters, so hopefully they'd be able to make up to the absolute disappointment that was the last games' bestiary.

Corssing fingers for an pc release.

P.T. was quite scary for a while, but the sequence to proceed through the looping room was so unintelligible...watching a guy stare at pictures and a radio for 40+ minutes totally killed it.
