Title: Touhou Hall of Records
Post by: Shimatora on November 03, 2012, 02:09:04 am
This has now been converted to a spreadsheet!
You can view the spreadsheet here (https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/167eioYS_7Uo-9EqZsVK-NzO1VoQNwNB_7zMnGBCErgc/edit#gid=0).

Shimatora's original post as of 2016-11-15 was archived here (https://www.shrinemaiden.org/forum/index.php/topic,13707.msg1295444.html#msg1295444), just in case anyone finds the format useful elsewhere. [- Karisa]

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe mikeKOSA and ffff are the same person.

Anyway, I think this is a pretty cool thing. Kinda weird seeing myself up there just for that Fairy Wars stage. :>

the idea is pretty cool, but I think there's a big flaw with the current style. that is, the shottypes are mixed. it'd quadriple the work if it was sorted by shottypes, but it makes sense (to me) if they were to be seperated. it's, for example, easier to score with ReimuB in PCB than it is with marisaA, for instance. (I know there isn't any marisa on the scoreboard, but just giving examples here :v)
so yeah, would make the list longer and seperate them. unless you had a reason not to do so.

I like it, can we use this thread to jizz over new WR superplays too?

Oh, really? Can anyone else clarify this before I change it?
And congrats for being the MotK record holder for Ex.  :]

That is something I don't feel comfortable with keeping up to date right now. This is going to be quite difficult to keep up to date as it is, let alone increasing the thread size for each shot type. For now, I'll just be listing the highest overall score for the difficulty regardless of shot type.

I like it, can we use this thread to jizz over new WR superplays too?

Of course!

This is a good idea. I'm temped to challenge some of these records just 'cause of that last list. Competitiveness ho.

If it's too much work for one person, we can have multiple people keep track of all the shot types, however they want to split it. We'd need a mod to help us out with that, though.

As for corrections, I know Nyaaa~ has broken 2 billion in TD Lunatic before. This (http://replays.gensokyo.org/download.php?id=15977) is the highest one of his I can find. One problem is that sometimes scores submitted to the tournament threads aren't always submitted into the high score threads afterward, so for those on MotK we might need to do a little digging to find their best scores.

Thanks Seppo, I'll correct this now.

That's part of the fun!

I would also find it interesting to do it per shot type, I just don't think I could keep it as up to date as I'd like it to be. I'll poke around and see who would be willing to help keep it up to date. Once I've got something organised, I'll reformat it accordingly. In fact, I could do it on my own, I may just need people to submit their MotK record breaking scores to this thread as well as the corresponding high score thread - but this is only if I can't keep them all up to date. My main worry is that the Touhou Wiki high score page is already gigantic, seeing how many characters there are for IN, for instance.

I'll see what I can do.

Also, MotK's TD Lunatic has been updated.

Oops, my bad! I'll change that right away.

EDIT: Okay, my idea for now is that I'll leave the main post as-is and have links to other posts in the threads for character + shot type specific scores. Yay or nay? Should I just throw it all into post one and try to make navigation a bit easier at risk of it being a sight for sore eyes? This is for the community, so whatever helps the community more to reference scores and such I'll be doing. So let me know!

EDITEDIT: Another idea is to make an external page, like a wordpress, to keep track of literally everything. This would be much cleaner and easier to look at in my opinion, and by far easier to browse.

Oops, my bad! I'll change that right away.
It seems you fixed the score and shot, but left Nereid's name there. It should be Random.

I'll also support the idea of an external page for "literally everything." Just way too many shot types to do it here, I think.

On the other hand, that's pretty much what the wiki already has going. I dunno if it would be better to do MotK + World for the sake of comparing scores, or if maybe you just want to do MotK scores. I think I might be leaning toward the latter, myself, if only because, again, the wiki has a page for world records anyway.

*facepalm* Woops.

I like the fact that I can view the MotK records vs the world records right next to each other, so I think I'll be keeping that as is. I'll just make it easier to look at than the current "table", that's all.

Almost there! Now I think Random ought to be added to this part:
Top Record Holders (MotK):

Heartbeam - 20
.ASP - 6
mikeKOSA - 4
Nereid - 3
RLRBS, GRB, T, Nyaaa~, Zil, BaitySM, Naut, ycw - 1
And maybe Nereid goes down to 2.

 ;)

I have compiled some records myself (http://en.touhouwiki.net/wiki/User:Arcorann/High_Score_Almanac#Tool-Assisted_Score_Records) which between them make up the majority of serious tool-assisted scoreruns (all records except EoSD Extra are the only runs in their category). There really aren't that many in existence.

Maybe you could make your compilation into something that everybody could contribute to. And maybe the world record page in the wiki should link to TASWR page.

Cheats, basically. The code (first part is address, second part is value):

I'd prefer if people used the original links for the TAS score replays:

I think you're missing that the MoF Extra TAS uses MarisaC.

Also thanks for the code. Here's a YouTube version of the EoSD Lunatic TAS (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5nQUnfRhfkg) with the counterstop disabled, for people who don't have a Nicovideo account (and/or prefer the EoSD retexture patch) and don't feel like setting up the cheat themselves.

I'm going to have to check this out and see if there are any new tricks being used. I should really try to get my own score up to 90 million, at least. Maybe even look at the main game for Fairy Wars. It's a fun game and I somehow always manage to forget that it exists. I bet I could at least beat some of the western records.

Looks like みぞる improved his GFW Extra yet again! I was really impressed when I first watched the original 100m run, gonna go watch this now.

Yeah that way of handling the red ring of death fairies at the end of the stage was unexpected!!

Also perhaps even more notable, clo-naga becomes the first ever (?) person to break 2 billion in PCB easy.

Thank you for using "MotK" and not "western".

I suggest also linking RoyalFlare, since that's where the WRs are submitted.  There's also a twitter bot that reports new high scores; I don't twitter so I don't have the address, but Nereid and others could hook you up.

I think it would be neat to have (at least) 2, 4, and 5 up there as well, even if there aren't WR pages for them.

Edit2: thinking on it, I also don't see any reason to leave out 1, 3, or 9... I guess I'm just used to them being considered silly, but we track the scores for them (and have some damned good ones for 3 and 9 at least), so that should be good enough, right?

More to the point: why not just have a second section with all the games that don't have WR pages on RF?  That way, the games with the most active competition get highlighted while all the games (and the MotK members who earned high scores in them) are still represented.  I mean, they're still Touhou, so I think they belong in a Touhou Hall of Records.  And it wouldn't take much effort to maintain them on this scoreboard since nobody plays them!

Edit: this is cool, thanks for doing this.  And sorry for making that an afterthought.

e: Holy crap that PoFV Extra run. Secret techniques, ahoy! Too bad the Marisa match desyncs for me.

And by the way Shimatora, how are you planning to keep the scores on WordPress updated? The twitter bot that K.B. mentioned sounds like a good idea for keeping track of Royal Flare's scores, and I was thinking that you could coerce Nereid into notifying you whenever one of MotK's high scores gets replaced, seeing as he'd be adding them in the first place when he updates the scoreboards.
I bring it up because I saw that you already added the FW scores that chum and I recently submitted, though you left out my Hard A-1 score, which is higher than Hawk's. If you're planning on just checking every new score that gets submitted I think that could easily get overwhelming, and would be a pretty difficult way of doing it in the long run.
I think it would be neat to have (at least) 2, 4, and 5 up there as well, even if there aren't WR pages for them.

I'll add all the other games when I get home from college today!

Also, in regards to keeping up with world records, I'm following both the Twitter bot and an RSS feed that updates directly from RoyalFlare. I check the latter daily anyway, so it's extremely hard to miss a new record.

It might be a good idea to ask Nereid to let me know the new scores, yes, just incase I miss one. (like with you're hard A-1, Zil.) I'll also talk to him after college.

K.B: I'm glad you like it! I've wanted something like this for a while, so I thought I'd just go ahead and do it. This thread here's the easy part... :P

EDIT: Wow, I've missed a few posts on FW's thread. I'll get up to date with this ASAP. Thanks for letting me know guys.

On second though, if you know you're going to get No. 1 in a thread, you could post here saying so, just copy-pasting your score with the replay link still at the end. This would be very helpful and would only require Nereid to update the threads (which I'm sure is quite a handful as it is, without having to copy-paste each new record.)

that PoFV high score is for Extra and not Lunatic. Interesting strategies in that replay, although I do not like Extra myself. If there is a lunatic high score anywhere out there (which I'd imagine there is) It's probably much higher.

I like how there are empty categories for SoEW.

Brace for more nagging~
On second though, if you know you're going to get No. 1 in a thread, you could post here saying so, just copy-pasting your score with the replay link still at the end.
I'm not sure about this, for a number of reasons. It could get very confusing in here if it's cluttered with scores from every game, especially if this thread continues to be used for discussion and jizzing over new WRs, etc. Further, you're depending on everyone who gets a high score to also remember to put it here, which could be easily overlooked, either out of forgetfulness or because the person wasn't aware of this thread in the first place. Further, you may not "know" that you'll be getting the high score. If you take Fairy Wars as an example, several scores were submitted one after another just recently, each one beating the previous, which would cause lots of chaos in this thread.  It could work, granted, but I still think an easier way would be for Nereid (assuming he's willing to do it) to make a note of each high score that got replaced after an update, then PM the list to you, or something similar.
Of course, it's your thread, so do whatever you think would be best. I'm just giving my thoughts on it.
Re: PoDD: Those scores date back to about 2000. I think that says it all.
Re: PoFV: The later stages sync. That Eiki match is ridiculous.
I see, And yes, I watched the Extra run from after Marisa. Many thanks for finding that and the PoDD score. I think they're fascinating.

So anyway, this thread's really making me want to just take every high score I get my hands on.
That just means that people are going to have to go and play some SoEW now! Speaking of which... SoEW time, brb.
I hope you're prepared for some competition. ;)

First of all, its not just nagging, its helpful nagging. So please nag all you want, because that'll make this thread a lot better than it might have been. You are very, very right - I didn't think about how cluttered this thread would get if people posted both in the high score threads and this thread. I'd much rather keep this thread to recent high score discussions and such like. I'll be talking to Nereid when he replies on IRC, so I'll keep you updated in that regards.

I'm really glad that you're feeling more competitive because of this - that was kind of my goal. Having your name at number one in the thread, hidden away doesn't feel as good as it should - it's far nicer seeing it in a thread that only a select few can actually get on to!

Hi.

So I'll send Shimatora a PM whenever someone posts a new #1 score; that should be easy enough.

Also, that RoyalFlare twitter bot is here (https://twitter.com/thtopscore_bot), and there's also a spreadsheet (https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/lv?key=0AijPjt2fuzjXdE1vOFB4YUl4VW1ZbTlyM2UxZ1pxeXc) that lists all the top scores (which also gets updated by the bot).

Just watched the replay, and it's really quite something.  I think he could probably get another 50-100m if he decided to graze the rings on Murasa's final and went for Shou first/second non timeouts.  Pretty risky though, so I doubt we'll see that happening anytime soon.  Excited to see what he'll manage to do with SanaeB.  3.6 maybe?

See:
I have compiled some records myself (http://en.touhouwiki.net/wiki/User:Arcorann/High_Score_Almanac#Tool-Assisted_Score_Records) which between them make up the majority of serious tool-assisted scoreruns (all records except EoSD Extra are the only runs in their category). I was talking about Murasa's timeout spell though, not the non.  Cuddling with the rings when they spawn for more graze.  I'm wondering how I got 100m now though.  Maybe I missed a decimal place or something.

Ha, that must be including the dream bonus you get while playing in your sleep.

The player could have snagged 5-10 million more by facing Eiki a second time*, and he could have gotten slightly more against Tewi, Youmu, Medi, and Komachi by waiting for Lily or a level 2, but those are the only increases I can see that wouldn't be entirely luck-dependent (ex: amount of bullets the ai reflects, getting more boss attacks with reflectable bullets, getting a more ideal distribution of fairies and spirits, and so on).  He could have played a little higher up in a few instances, but I don't know how much he would have gained, and that's some hefty nitpicking on a great run.  It's also possible that Eiki's scoring potential is slightly higher than Reisen's, but that's just speculation at this point (and I think Reisen's is higher).

*Eiki timers per round: 120s, 50s, 45s, 28s, [...].  In the first round, the player got 18 million in the first 50 seconds**, not including end-match bonus points obtained during this time frame (from numbers of spells cast and boss reversals).  Every death costs ten million in remaining-lives bonus.  So, suiciding once the first-round timer runs out could net 5-10 million more points, assuming no chain drops in the second round.  That would be a little less if there are more bullets on the first round (which seems to happen in lunatic, but I can't prove that and I don't know about extra), but I think it wouldn't be that much less, especially when bonus points are added in.  Arguably not worth the risk, and miniscule compared to the points you can get from a few lucky breaks (speaking of: 22 million in the fourth round? wth.), but it's there.

**He had 13 million in the first 45 seconds.  Once he got spell points to bonus, at 15 seconds in, he was averaging .59 million per second, or 1.7 seconds per million.  Seconds between tens of millions were 20, 18, 13, 19, 17, and 15.  Just going by this, that'd give 10.5 million for a second round and 7.6 million for a third round.  But scoring comes in spurts and is a little slower at the start (even once spell points are at bonus), so having five fewer seconds in the third round is probably enough to make it impractical to suicide twice.  Suiciding once, though, should still be worthwhile (for the daring).
Title: Re: Touhou Hall of Records

I also hoped for at least one suicide during the last stage. He also didn't take advantage of one free suicide before getting the 40mil life extend, which in that case was wasted.

One time i finished extra stage 1 shiki vs cirno with 11 or 12m score. Cirno didn't die for several seconds when the timer was up allowing for a nice score bonus that time. I don't remember what exactly caused it, perhaps there weren't any bullets on screen for cirno to suicide into or maybe it was a bug...

Reisen's bug:

Cirno tends to survive for a few extra seconds after the timer runs out. It's likely because of her freezing effect. As far as I'm aware, they don't just suicide willingly. They still have to get hit, it's just that they are no longer invincible and tend to ignore the bullets altogether.

Also, if 500m was mentioned on that page, it's possible he was referring to Lunatic mode, not Extra.

Since this seems to have become the new "Touhou Score Thread", I might as well say that I've figured out the EoSD spellcard bonus formula (not that those bonuses are particularly relevant to EoSD scoring, but it's still potentially useful to know). It's now on the wiki's gameplay page (http://en.touhouwiki.net/wiki/Embodiment_of_Scarlet_Devil/Gameplay#Spell_Card_Bonus). I'd had the theory for a while, based on how Scarlet Gensokyo and QED give huge bonuses for capturing while other spells' bonuses are mostly consistent within any given stage, but didn't get around to testing it until now.

I see a mistake in the SoEW Normal score in the first post. 17,327,840 is actually Zil's Easy score; the Normal score should be 17,050,910 (see here (http://www.shrinemaiden.org/forum/index.php/topic,8096.msg909698.html#msg909698)).

Also, some MotK records for PC-98 games could use an update:
- LLS Easy (Karisa - 56,074,820 - ReimuA)
- LLS Normal (Chirpy13 - 104,418,210 - ReimuB)
- LLS Lunatic (Chirpy13 - 107,064,900 - ReimuB)
- SoEW Lunatic (Karisa - 21,334,210 - ReimuB)
- SoEW Extra (Zil - 34,257,150 - ReimuB) [if the turbo version is counted, see Zil's note in the same post I linked]

The Extra score was being left out until Nereid decided how it should be handled or something, yeah. It's worth noting though that the "world record" score up there by 部屋干し(which is lower than my own) was almost certainly using some kind of turbo thing as well. Personally I think my score may as well be added there, if we're looking at overall records.

Also the PoDD Lunatic score could be updated as well, to 98,470,830 with Chiyuri.

And whatever happened to Nereid anyway? He was updating things pretty regularly and then kinda vanished. I'd be willing to help with the scoreboards myself, but I'm not sure if I'm allowed to become a janitor all of a sudden just for that.

No, I've had enough of MS Easy/Normal for now. Unless you score higher than either of my Mima scores that is.

Also I think I should currently have 8 (1 E/N/H, 2 L, 4 E, 5 E/N/H) in that list of top record holders. That list is rather biased towards those of us who care about the PC-98 games by the way. Not that I mind. (But seriously, HRtP Normal/Hard are still very improvable, someone go improve them thank you.)

Also it seems one of the world records has been improved since this thread was created.

I'm considering showing what percentage MotK scores are against their world records. For instance:
Quote
Over 75% of World Record
Over 50% of World Record
Under 50% of World Record

Easy:
World: MATSU 172,044,560 Reimu B
MotK: Heartbeam 129,782,280 (75.44%) Marisa B

At the moment, I'm only thinking of copying the colours of the Shmups Hall of Record thread as they seem appropriate.

Would people find this useful / interesting? Let me know, and I'll add it. If you have any objections, please voice them too. If anyone has a better colour scheme / place to put the percentages or anything at all, let me know as well!

I'd say yes, but the problem is that anything in quote tags won't appear when quoting another post, and the ability to quote that post with formatting could be useful, so I don't think that's a good idea.

(also it seems you didn't fix EoSD Easy or IN Easy yet)

The orange definitely looks better. As for the rest, it'd be nice if the green was more noticeable than the yellow, since currently the yellow stands out the most, but I can't seem to find any brighter green that looks good. The closest I got was this, but I'm not sure if it contrasts enough with the blue background.

Also, this reminds me, I'd be willing to format the table like I did in this post (http://www.shrinemaiden.org/forum/index.php/topic,13707.msg906839.html#msg906839) (by quoting it and sending the modified version to you in a PM), if you think that would be a good idea.

I'll see what I can do with the green.

I appreciate the offer, but I'd rather keep it the way it is for now. The main reason being if anything goes wrong with the formatting, then I'd like to be able to fix it. Not sure if I'd have the patience, to be fair. Thank you anyway, I'll let you know if I have a change of mind.

Yeah, I think it'd be best to keep the MotK scores to MotK, even if the players do have better scores elsewhere. If they'd like it on here, they can post it to the score thread themselves or in this thread. Just my personal opinion though - if anyone has any other suggestions, please let me know.

So I was recently re-watching Alan's 6.42 billion IN Youmu record, and decided to record it while I was doing so for no particular reason. I didn't remove my score.dat though (so it has some 0/1 and 1/1 spell histories from a failed 1cc attempt I did a while back). What I'm wondering is, would anyone find it worth it if I uploaded the video?

And for that matter, are there any potential problems with uploading videos of others' WR replays from Royalflare? I know Nereid did it before with one of the previous UFO Lunatic records (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0k8PbiNjw6I).

By the way MS Hard could be updated in the first post, as well as PoDD Lunatic... and all the other PoDD difficulties actually, looking at Zil's latest post in that thread. Edit: Here, I'll list them for convenience.
- MS Hard (Karisa - 141,476,240 - Mima)
- PoDD Easy (Zil - 39,007,340 - Chiyuri)
- PoDD Normal (Zil - 54,565,290 - Chiyuri)
- PoDD Hard (Zil - 65,352,160 - Chiyuri)
- PoDD Lunatic (Zil - 104,659,720 - Chiyuri)
And the orange color seems to have been reverted for some reason?

All updated.

And the orange color seems to have been reverted for some reason?

When I changed it to the one you suggested I got complaints from other people about it. For now, I'm leaving it as is, because I can't please everyone with the colours, unfortunately. When I find time I'll test some so that we can find a set that will be good for everyone's computer / browsers / OSes etc etc.

Also I did FW Lunatic recently

Keep going, 100m is within reach, I'm sure of it.

I'm working on EoSD at the moment (god It's hard and dumb...) once I'm done with that I will probably go back to GFW and work on that 100 mil!

And maybe beat Zil's extra score

A few things that could be updated:

MS Extra (Zil - 199,829,790 - Mima)
PoFV Normal (Zil - 238,519,690 - Eiki)
PoFV Hard (Zil - 280,243,830 - Eiki)
PoFV Extra (Zil - 159,212,870 - Eiki)

Pretty sure it's more appropriate to say "Eiki," not "Sikieiki."

Quote
Zil - 12

And that should've been at 13. 15 now though. I think Heartbeam should've gone down to 18 somewhere along the lines, unless I miscounted something.

EoSD Hard (chum - 308,026,510 - ReimuB) too

A theoretical great score for me would still be about 40 millions higher but fuck if I hate myself that much

That Normal run seems crazy, Zil, I'm gonna have to watch it (and Hard too I guess)

You raised my number too high now. It should only be 15, I believe. Also you didn't change the MS Extra score. I actually did get two different runs less than 1 million away from 200. ;_;

Thanks. I think the Hard run is by far the crazier one. Both could've had less pointless deaths though.

Alan improved the overall IN world record. It's now 6,482,328,570 (http://www16.atpages.jp/thmzn/cgi-bin/threp/replay/th8_ud0244.rpy), with Youmu solo as usual.

Although I'm not sure if this contains any new techniques over Alan's previous 6.42b score (which I believe was the previous highest-scoring replay, YASU/Toki's 6.45b being unavailable), this one seems to contain fewer mistakes, finishing 8/8 instead of 8/2. It doesn't quite capture everything though, failing Rising World at the very end... I wonder how that felt.

Y.S grabs the Lunatic WR with a 300k improvement. It is A-2 even though it says B-1 - seems like the replay got bugged.

Also, just updated the colours with a little help. How do they look? These aren't as glaring on the background I don't think, and they still have some logical progression.

I don't think this will be viewable. When the replay gives you the wrong route you should be able to fix it by saving the replay a second and it will name the route properly this time. There's no way to do that now to my knowledge, since the player can't save the replay anymore after quitting the menu.

I've been thinking, would anyone like to see a weekly roundup of new WRs and such? If there have been any, of course. And not just for overall difficulty records, individual shot types/routes too.

Let me know what you think and whether or not you'd find this interesting / useful / convenient.

EDIT: Perhaps I should elaborate.

In the Weekly Roundup, I'd note what scores have been improved, player's names, date since the previous record was made, and also commenting on various improvements in the run where my personal knowledge of the game allows me. So, for instance:

UFO
Difficulty
Player Name - Score - Character
Notes - improvements per stage, previous records date, etc.

(I'll mess with formatting if this idea is liked.)

I can't promise analysis or notes each and every week, but I'll try my best if people want it.

Sounds like a cool idea to me. As long as you're willing to do it.

Also, I guess there are two scores you could change.

PoDD Hard (Zil - 69,066,730 - Chiyuri)
HRtP Lunatic (Zil - 13,824,670 - Jigoku)

And the color for this one should be yellow.

Actually, I don't think there any scores left that are under 50% of the world record. Not that we really now anything for certain about those untracked games anyway.

It's Sunday, to here's the first weekly update on WRs. I'll mainly just be showing numbers today, so I'd encourage anyone to expand on what I've said, whether that be new route speculation or comments on the changes to the WRs in question. If anyone's willing to lend a hand each week to help with write-ups, or would like to lend a hand in some other way, please send me a PM! I feel like I lack the knowledge to fully comment on WR replays, so I can only really go by what I see.

The only two new WRs from the past week have been clock_eu26's GFW Normal C2 run (http://score.royalflare.net/th128/replay128/th128_ud05ae.rpy) and wal's 723m run of UFO Sanae B Extra (http://score.royalflare.net/archives/th12/th12_ud0f45.rpy), the latter perhaps being the most interesting.

Great Fair Wars
Normal-C2
clock_eu26 - 55,901,220 (http://score.royalflare.net/archives/th128/th128_ud05ab.rpy) → (+332,870) 56,234,090 (http://score.royalflare.net/archives/th128/th128_ud05ad.rpy) → (+180,720) 56,414,810 (http://score.royalflare.net/archives/th128/th128_ud05ae.rpy)

Undefined Fantastic Object
Extra - Sanae B
wal - 716,033,640 (http://score.royalflare.net/archives/th12/th12_ud0e38.rpy) → (+7,357,340) 723,390,980 (http://score.royalflare.net/archives/th12/th12_ud0f45.rpy)

Comparisons of replays in this sense, may not be worth it - but I'd like to show what I plan to do for later replays if I can. So, here it is (if there are any requests on what to add, please say and I'll let you know if they're possible for me to do or not.)

wal 716m
PIV       - Score            - Section
27,810 - 114,976,300 - Pre-midboss
39,700 - 155,132,780 - After Midboss
46,770 - 484,803,610 - Before main boss
50,160 - 716,033,640 - End of Stage
20,516,000 Clear Bonus
All spell cards captured apart from Kogasa's final.

wal 723m
PIV       - Score            - Section
27,860 - 117,171,760 - Pre-midboss
39,720 - 157,448,960 - After midboss
46,890 - 492,674,780 - Before main boss
50,370 - 723,390,980 - End of Stage
20,537,000 Clear Bonus
All spell cards captured apart from Kogasa's final.

For regular runs, I wont go into quite as much depth as this. It'll probably be limited to Stage by Stage comparisons for now.

Hope some of you find this interesting / useful. Any sort of suggestions, please post them in the thread or via PMs!

I'd personally prefer hearing what the player actually did (or what you think he did) to achieve the score increase, like improved grazing technique or enemy disposal/UFO summoning/freeze timing and if you could see any possibilities for improvements or noticeable mistakes (escaped enemies/dropped items, wasted easy graze potential, missed freeze opportunity etc.) it would be great! Still, thanks for taking the time to write this up, it is appreciated! Keep it up!

Yes, I'd also like to incorporate that at some point. My only problem is that I don't want to make too much of a job for myself - doing this much is pretty simple, all I have to do is fast-forward each replay and make notes on score and graze. If I start getting properly into analysing the replays, I might make things a bit too complicated for myself, that and without my personal knowledge of each of the games, I might end up missing certain aspects and bringing attention to aspects that really don't make a difference or matter. I could probably do this quite easily for TD replays, but as for the other games, it's a bit more difficult.

This is kind of why I asked for some outside help too, if there's any to be had. Perhaps in the next few weeks, or if I feel like it, I'll expand certain replays I'm personally interested in and offer some real insight into what's going on. For now though, I think I'll leave it as it is, and if there's anyone with anything extra to add, that'd be fantastic!

Title: Re: Touhou Hall of Records
Post by: Karisa on March 14, 2013, 11:08:41 pm
No, but this run failed Kaguya's 3rd last spell instead, which cost even more points (extra 30m night bonus). I guess there was a larger improvement elsewhere in the run.
Title: Re: Touhou Hall of Records
Post by: Avakyon on March 14, 2013, 11:21:40 pm
On top of that, a death in stage 5 and a bomb at Kaguya costs 20m because of lower bomb stock. Add that to the night bonus loss and the spell bonus loss and the run could be 6.6B.

Also, the recovery strat during Kaguya's Last Words was impressive. I don't think I knew you could squeeze a bomb in between the spells.
Title: Re: Touhou Hall of Records
Post by: ARF on March 14, 2013, 11:46:56 pm
Ouch that 3rd last spell cost a lot yeah.

Looked like a subpar cancel on the last bunch of fairies before Mystia (maybe a somewhat bad cancel on the first big fairy in stage 2 as well?) and a deathbomb to her killer non, otherwise the early stages seemed incredibly good, very good midboss Mystia grazing. Deathbomb on Keine's last non seemed intentional to get more graze. Looks like he handles Marisa's nons better now, he recall him getting cornered and bombing there quite often but I guess that might also be intentional lol!

Tewi dropping the extra life this time! Happiness!! Reisen fight was really impressive with the yolo grazing methods all over the place.

Seems like he got rather tricky lines of fairies in stage 6, totally handled it like a boss. Eirin got schooled hard and main Kaguya fight was also great!

Super impressive run, will probably watch it again sometime!

I also thought that the loss of the 3rd last spell must have hurt. the run went so well overall and then such a serious mistake on the last spells.

but the run was very impressive nontheless. amazing stuff all over the place. I didn't know you could graze mystia midboss spell like that, actually! (what, have I never seen another superplay before ?) so that was really mindblogging for me. and yeah, the deathbomb was definitely intentional. there is no way dashing into keine like that wasn't on purpose. at least I'd be surprised if it was a legit mistake. the death in stage 5 was really unfortunate, but mistakes like these happen, I guess. luckily it was right before tei, so he could get the lost life back.

he got 2 tricks lines in stage 6, but also a few really simple ones. it's hilarious how that made almost 1/6th of his score. 1b from that section alone.

bhuddist diamond capture was most impressive to me, I have to say. there were several situations where I'd have bombed the card. but he just continued and captured it must have been really nervewrecking for him, too. I will definitely watch it again sometime. that was just too good.

Simply capturing Kaguya's 3rd last spell should be enough to bring it up to 6.65 billion. 60m night bonus + ~41m spell bonus + ~12m from time orbs (~1300 time orbs at 8230+1500 value) + 7.5m extra bomb is about 120m. (Spell bonus and time orb counts are from Alan's previous record.)

Playlist of each game's overall Lunatic and Extra world records (http://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLyUFfxSSS5auqgtwDM3StpFLwEmIbrFFQ).
Well, except the records that don't seem to have a replay (currently PCB/MoF Lunatic). For those I included the highest-scoring replay from Royalflare instead.

The idea is to provide videos that can be used for quick reference links (like this (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZI7i2rue6mY#t=12m13)) to supergrazes and other scoring techniques, as well as allow people to more easily skip back while watching (e.g. to study the timing/movements, or find out how much a particular scoring trick is worth). And perhaps to show the world records to people who don't have a particular game, though I'm not sure who would care to watch.

If this gets enough interest, I'm thinking of also including the Easy records (I think Lunatic+Easy should be enough to show the majority of scoring strategies), and perhaps enough replays to show the rest of the stages (the other 5 GFW routes, IN 4A, IN 6A, PCB Extra), but probably not anytime soon. These took a while to record.
(Edit: And yes, there's also the issue of how many records I'd care to keep the videos updated for. Probably no more than 20-30 on my own, though I wouldn't mind keeping the playlist updated if there did happen to be some sort of collaboration.)

That looks surprisingly neat!

However, if you're planning to show all strategies, you should consider how in some of the games the playing is very different between some shottypes, take PCB or IN for example. Hence, if you were to upload videos to show all of the routes or strategies, you'd have to upload almost every WR for some games, which would be a terrible amount of work.

Also, given how the World Records are in constant change, keeping such playlist up to date would be a huge pain. Or at least, the amount of working hours needed for such... urgh.

It could work as a collaboration between several people, though. And it certainly is helpful even as how it's now.

Zil – 17
Heartbeam – 18
Oh, right, this caught my eye, Zil being higher, while having one less record (or maybe the numbers are wrong, I didn't bother checking) . Or possibly it's intentional, considering how the latter isn't technically a MotK member anymore, given the deleted account.

Not much of a big deal, though.

-

Oh, and if you include me on the list (You know my preference about it due to an earlier IRC rant - But I know very well that it's my own fault for posting to the scoreboards in the first place, and then keeping at it since I have a thing for this competitivity. Or maybe it's all about attention.), I'd prefer having the Seppo Hovi written apart, not altogether. (Seppo Hovi, not SeppoHovi. You can also use Vee, if it's easier to type.) You don't have to go out of your way to fix it, though, given how little thing it is (again). I just felt like pointing out everything that's on top of my head now that I'm posting.

@Vee: It's impractical to include all strategies (especially for games like PCB, where border routes can vary with every category). If someone is at the level where they're analyzing strategies of a certain character/difficulty combination, they'll probably want to watch more than one replay in that category anyway.  I'm hoping the videos can show a decent range of strategies though. For example, most supergrazes are pretty much the same with all characters.

As for collaborating to include additional videos, if anyone does feel like recording/uploading them, I'd be willing to organize the playlist(s) for that. There would need to be a few quality standards though, both with recording quality (for example, there shouldn't be noticeable recording-induced slowdown or skipping, and the video quality must be good enough to clearly show important details like the spell bonuses and point item value), and people making a commitment to upload any improvements of that category in the future, or at least label the video that it's no longer the current record.

@Shimatora: Not sure if including those videos would be a good idea, since it'd seem incomplete. Unless you include links to replays/videos for all the scores on the list, if available. I'd posted the videos here mainly because of the world record discussion that's been occurring in this thread.

Oh, and you might want to fix this (MS Hard):

This score should be with Reimu/Yukari, apparently. The replay is gone though.

The name could also simply be mikeKOSA, judging by this post (http://www.shrinemaiden.org/forum/index.php/topic,157.msg835349.html#msg835349) (which was like right before he closed his account). That was the only score in the table that he submitted as ffff anyway.

I liked having my PoDD score higher than the GFW record. I'll have to remedy this. As soon as the game decides to work again. ;_;

Also, I think I should still be at 17, assuming the only thing that's changed for me is gaining PoFV Lunatic and losing GFW Extra. Not that I've counted everything up, but yeah.

If I counted correctly, both Zil and Heartbeam should be at 17 now.

Also, I believe this (http://www.shrinemaiden.org/forum/index.php/topic,13707.msg962115.html#msg962115) is still relevant.
(I have a tendency to start sentences in this thread with "Also", don't I? Not sure why.)

Anyway, I've updated the world record playlist to include a video (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-L6UzvwcZc0) of this latest GFW record. I wonder how long I'll keep that playlist updated...

I might as well mention a few recently posted scores that I noticed were higher than what's on the list.

UFO Normal - chum - 1,555,741,200 - SanaeB
PoDD Hard - Zil - 82,125,270 - Chiyuri
PoFV Normal - Zil - 310,957,740 - Eiki
PoFV Extra - Zil - 164,796,780 - Eiki
(+1 chum, -1 Heartbeam, Zil unchanged)

Can anyone tell me what determines the PoFV characters' scoring potential, by the way? I noticed Eiki seems to have higher scores than everyone else, but why is that? Stage 9 Reimu? Or is Zil just better at scoring with Eiki?
Title: Re: Touhou Hall of Records
Post by: Star King on April 29, 2013, 02:50:42 pm
I think the most important is probably to not kill the AI early. Shiki can pretty much only hit with the laser from her boss attack, so after the 100k/300k/500k boss attacks you can practically forever without hitting the opponent, as long as you don't get hit or drop bonus. Zil survived for 7 minutes vs first round Reimu.

I think Reisen is generally considered the best, or at least really good. Never hits the AI, creates slow, cancelable bullets to reflect, and her lvl1 attack has a nice area hit. Speaking of which, I was trying Extra with Reisen yesterday and I think I've found a simple-yet-effective way to beat the "world record". But I'll have to manage to no-death it first.

Oh, and you forgot the MoF extra score was also improved :P

May as well mention I did these last night.

Hard - Eiki
Zil - 293,565,890

Lunatic - Eiki
Zil - 328,532,130

Yeah, in general, it's advantageous if the character's level 2 spell creates tons of slow bullets, and also has no chance of hitting the AI early. Eiki has the added bonus of fighting Reimu in stage 9 instead of herself, so you can easily last a very long time. Reisen's probably a bit better on her own, but I think the extent to which Reimu is a better opponent than Eiki makes Eiki better for scoring outside of Extra and Easy mode.

Title: Re: Touhou Hall of Records

I believe it's since her spell attacks spawn lots of reflectable bullets. I could be wrong, though.
Title: Re: Touhou Hall of Records
Post by: K.B. on April 29, 2013, 09:16:23 pm
Yeah, Reimu fights get to bonus very quickly... maybe it's the level-two attacks, but Eiki's level-twos also have a bunch of cancellable bullets, so I don't know who has the edge there (maybe Reimu slightly with her boss attacks?).  But I think he was getting at the fact that Reimu's easier.  Or at least that's what I'd say.  AI Reimu basically never ripple-fires level-two attacks, whereas AI Eiki still heaps on the ex-attacks (especially at bonus).  I'd much rather deal with streaming and orbs than hot-dog chaos.
Seven minutes, though... damn.

Reisen's probably a bit better on her own, but I think the extent to which Reimu is a better opponent than Eiki makes Eiki better for scoring outside of Extra and Easy mode.
Hadn't thought about that before.  That's huge; thanks for explaining this.  I always thought that Reisen had the edge and that her potential hadn't been fully realized, but those Eiki scores make a lot more sense now (at least when you don't get unlucky with Eiki-laser!).
Title: Re: Touhou Hall of Records
Post by: Zil on April 29, 2013, 10:24:08 pm
Why is Reimu so much better for score? Is she just easier to survive a long time against?
Primarily, yes, though as K.B. mentioned, her boss attack shoots more reflectable bullets as well. Eiki's boss has three moves, and only one shoots reflectable bullets, and they're super fast, which means they don't help very much. Reimu has five moves, and two of them use very slow reflectable bullets, with one of those two using a fuckton. And since you are (ideally) locked at bonus, you'll never be cancelling the boss attacks, so they're on your screen much more often than not. So while Reimu's spell doesn't really help very much (since it's extremely fast), her boss will be using favorable attacks much more frequently than Eiki uses spells. So I think she's better for score even without considering how she's so much easier.

Edit: Should also mention that Eiki's faster movement and bigger scope make her a bit easier to play as well, particularly for reaching the spirits high up.

And it's fairly unlikely that you'll get unlucky with Eiki's laser, since (again, ideally) you're staying at bonus and not summoning any boss attacks. Then even if you accidentally reset your points, you'll probably only summon one boss, at 100k, then skip past 300k and 500k before it disappears. And you'd probably have to hit her with two lasers in quick succession, since she'll likely bomb the first one. (Though it is possible for the AI to to bomb the laser, then simply sit inside it and get hit immediately.) Personally I've never had Reimu die in the first round.

Though, interestingly, I did find a video earlier today of a no miss Lunatic run with Eiki. Apparently played by that newcashcash guy. In this case though, he's clearly trying to summon as many bosses as possible. http://v.youku.com/v_show/id_XMTgyMjE2NzQ0.html

Seems like he sacrificed even more resources to up his cherry early, though I haven't watched the old HS record in like a year, I wonder how this would compare to HS more recent SakuyaB score (which was never made public as far as I'm aware). Liked the grazing method he used on second midboss Alice. Slightly disappointed over the lack of the cool Live Poltergeist trick that HS did with ReimuB. That way of doing reflowering seemed pretty radical, would be interesting to see how the other methods of doing that spell compares.

You forgot to change this, I think. It should indeed be Reisen instead of Eiki.

You also put Nal Yoo's score in but left Heartbeam's name. And judging from his comment in the IN thread, would I be correct in assuming that Nal Yoo is MikeKOSA? If that's the case he has 5 records now, so he should probably on that little list at the bottom.

Speaking of which, it's silly for me to be at the top of that with scores in games almost nobody plays, but whatever. :p
Title: Re: Touhou Hall of Records

Regarding Nal Yoo, all we have is that comment, but the scoring skill does match up. I've been updating my IN file according to what he said; it's not like the replay-less mikeKOSA scores are that relevant anyway.

Speaking of which, it's silly for me to be at the top of that with scores in games almost nobody plays, but whatever. :p
And that's why more people should try scoring in those games. It sort of worked with MS and HRtP, though it was just the two of us. PoDD and PoFV seem to actually be rather popular lately, but not the others. I'm particularly curious about the scoring potential of the remaining PC-98 modes (that aren't already near-maxed like LLS Extra and HRtP).

Speaking of which, any recommendations on how to set up SoEW turbo fire? Sapz said it's allowed, and despite how annoying that game is I'm thinking of giving it another try. I have a feeling the current main-game records have potential for some rather substantial improvement.

I think the easiest way to get some kind of turbo fire is to use AutoHotkey. Goldom made a script for it a while ago. These threads should help:

dying hurts your score much less than you might be thinking right now. my 197m run had me dyingt o stage 6-8 once and to eiki twice. you can make up for the lives lost by chaining well and casting as many spells and shit as you can iin the second round. try to maximize your score in the time you have instead of needlessly worrying about beating everyone in the first round.

the EoSD hard record was a crazy watch. the strat against rumia's first spellcard (boss spell, that is) is TAS-tier. a very clean and beautiful stage 5. amazing stage 4. stage 5 and 6 were amazing, too, but more standard in my eyes than the rest. truly a fucking amazing run.

That was crazy! I went all OHHH SHIEET when he ended up in the middle of the bullets in miracle fruit but then he bombed and I lol'd. Apparently he sacrifices those two fairies in the stage to get more graze, I don't remember seeing that before. Almost seemed like Koishi's opener could be safespotted inside the spawning rings when I looked at this, might try that later. I wonder why he didn't try to speedkill her first spell when he didn't wait for another wave of lasers anyway, I don't see the reason behind it. I like how he grazed pretty much everything all the way to the last survival.

So, has anyone else been following Royalflare's DDC demo scoreboard? A lot of the categories aren't very polished yet (you can tell because I took the lead in nearly all the Easy and Normal categories without much effort), but there are a few that I've found pretty impressive:

Lunatic ReimuA. It seems ReimuA's bomb can also be used for supergrazing, as shown by a gain of over 10,000 PIV from Cirno's nonspell. The rest seems fairly polished as well, though 未知 (in-game name ns) keeps improving it.

Lunatic SakuyaB, currently the overall record of 320 million. Mainly due to the survival involved, since SakuyaB is a very weak shot. The bombing route is also rather different from Easy/Normal, since some early patterns are actually worth a lot of PIV (as some players here have demonstrated, I think ななまる (in-game name NANA)'s route is the same as Majildian's but with all Kagerou spell bonuses).

SJF's latest Normal SakuyaB record of 268m is the first to spend every bomb on Sekibanki (a route previously used on Easy but not Normal), gaining 8,000 PIV but requiring much riskier stage 3 auto-collecting. The stage 1 route could be improved, though; defeating Cirno in the 3rd wave seems better than the 4th (more power items from enemies, meaning less unfocusing necessary to reach 4 power by midboss Sekibanki), and I regularly finish stage 1 with 17,500 PIV. But it's still a good score.

Easy SakuyaB still remains as competitive as ever, with 3123's latest 218m 221m using a different route to gain two additional x2.0 collections in stage 2, for an additional life to use on Sekibanki, finishing with 96,130 97,580 PIV. And that's with rather inefficient grazing on stage 1 (my 212m gains 700 PIV over 3123's, without sacrificing any of the 2nd spell bonus). Interestingly, 3123 also supergrazes Sekibanki's 1st boss spell by circling around the head, gaining ~400 PIV at the cost of 2.5m spell bonus. I guess that's actually worth it?

I've also noticed that Normal ReimuA has been steadily increasing, and ARF's Lunatic MarisaB score is no longer in the lead.

IBUKI took his spot back with a 1,115,679,550 ReimuA score. About just 600k more than ASL's score. I expect ASL to take it back with a 1,117m or something, as their replays are really optimal despite using slightly different strategies at the stage portion, and there's not much to improve.

IBUKI took his spot back with a 1,115,679,550 ReimuA score. About just 600k more than ASL's score. I expect ASL to take it back with a 1,117m or something, as their replays are really optimal despite using slightly different strategies at the stage portion, and there's not much to improve.

I found the differences in their route very intriguing so I decided to put them side by side to compare ASL's route to IBUKI's directly (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sjL1w0BpArM). I'm not sure which route has the highest potential, but there are some places which are clearly superior (like during "Ancestors Standing Beside Your Bed"  IBUKI's method is obviously way more swag but then ASL has a faster kill strat on Super-Ego etc.

-edit-

OMG E-Splice gets 3,114,119,020 (http://score.royalflare.net/th12/replay12/th12_ud0fb0.rpy) in UFO Lunatic with SanaeB. And his run is just amazing, very neat way of doing post midboss stage 2, nails the Ichirin third supergraze that Shin started doing (only one wave, but still!!!) and he goes full yolomode against Shou, 2 cycling Vajra and grazing second non like a boss. He probably has the potential to get the overall WR if he keeps doing attempts!

Why don't they run down the timer on Rorschach in Danmaku for graze, considering that the spell bonus doesn't decrease?

I *think* it's because the spell can troll you or something. But I'm not sure if there's some penalty if you capture it by timeout insteead of shooting because in Kopiapoa's TAS he grazes the shit out of the spell but at the last seconds he focus on shooting her and eventually kills her.

And about UFO, well, I was kinda disappointed to not see him supergrazing some stuff like shin or HECATE's old 2.9b (especially mid Nazrin's spell and Nazrin's spell), as well as the precise graze on the opening fairies from stage 4/5. Like I said (not sure if here), if shin decides to work on SanaeB's score, he can possibly reach 3.3 billion. I think what he'll come with next time is a ReimuA's ~3.1 billion though, and maybe be done with Reimu shots as of then. But otherwise, it was a pretty cool replay, I like when they make it to Byakuren 0/0 and clear the game. And perfect Shou is awesome too. (although it's kinda unfair to compare him to a monster like shin...)

Btw, was there a scoring reason for that death at the beginning of stage 5? It's strange to see someone of that caliber dying like that while he already had 2 bombs.

I'm guessing the level of optimization still doesn't warrant a time-down of Rorschach, also you have to end it manually since you don't get items otherwise. It is probably annoying having to peek at the lifebar while playing too, since the damage noise always seemed drowned out by the bullet activation sound.

E-Splice seems capable of pushing his score further judging from the bad ass play and the amount of silly mistakes he could perhaps opt for more rainbows in the future, or feel more confident  in his ability to finish runs and take the time to graze midboss Nazrin etc. I also forgot to mention how I really liked how he grazed Murasa's second non! that diagonal dash to get back in position was so elegant.

Yeah it's killed for the items and life piece. But I didn't mean time it out completely, I meant let the timer run down and end it at the last second.

Yeah, I meant Rorschach in Danmaku, herp. Thanks for knowing what I meant.

About the items, see what I said to Wriggle. If it being a hassle is really the only reason I'd be surprised. Players of this caliber should be easily able to do it. Maybe we'll see them run the timer in future runs?

I hear players are generally exerting as little effort as possible to maintain their record, like how T opted to not do the skyfish supergraze strat in TD extra unless his competition did so first. If the record keeps getting pushed further I guess they might time down Rorschach.

I don't think the EoSD Hard world record in the first post was updated... actually, it seems more than a few records in the first post could use an update. World records from the wiki:

And MotK records:

EoSD Normal - marus-MPO - 276,600,610 - ReimuB
IN Easy - Sakurei - 3,039,361,940

It might be from his Twitter or blog or something, Touhou Wiki have always regarded ones without replays with screenshots from "reliable" players to be legit.

Looks like UKT was also doing some last-minute DDC trial scoring. 416 million (http://en.touhouwiki.net/images/5/5f/Th14_ud0164.rpy), nearly a 60m improvement over their previous record. I can see this category's scores getting insane in the full version.

The route seems designed for the full version too, including some suicides to Kagerou to bomb nonspells that I don't think are worth it in the demo (I think it's best to go for 4 power captures rather than boosting PIV for only a few items). Finished with over 200k PIV. Perhaps 500k PIV is more feasible than it seemed...

Since I don't know when Royalflare will erase their trial section, I've reuploaded the replay on the wiki, just in case. It'd be good for archival purposes anyway (if anyone even cares about archiving demo records).

Edit:
I've archived all 24 first place Royalflare replays for the demo, plus the score and history pages, in a zip file. It was still only 1MB combined, so I've attached it to this post. Not that I really expect people to use it, but again, just in case. (I wonder if they'll sync on the full game...)

Don't forget, Extra is also a possible category. (I predict it'll be dominated by MarisaB instead of SakuyaB, but we'll see.)

Anyway, looks like 3123 was the first to reach 1 billion Easy... finding a new way to reach 6 lives by Sekibanki (since the previous method stopped working due to some stage 2 fairies dropping fewer items), by adding in a 2.0 collection on stage 1. Replay here (http://en.touhouwiki.net/images/5/5e/Th14_ud0196.rpy). Some nice 2.0s in stage 4 and 5 too, including an interesting strategy of luring certain stage 5 yin-yangs upward so their point items take longer to fall off the screen.

Interestingly 3123 reaches 100,000 PIV later than in my latest (prior to learning about the new stage 1 2.0 collection) route. I think my grazing/bombing might be more optimized, then, since 2-3 extra Sekibanki bombs should be a gain of 4000-6000 PIV. I know I still gain 1000 PIV over 3123 on Wakasagihime, at least. I need to learn to replicate these new strategies. This category is just getting started.

Any idea how long it'll take for Royalflare to officially open their scoreboard, by the way?

DDC Royalflare week 1 summary, for anyone interested who hasn't been watching Royalflare as closely. There's a decent number of scoring-oriented runs now.

SGR continues to be as dedicated to Normal ReimuA as they were in the trial; their latest score is 843m but it's possible there will be an improvement by the time you read this. It seems several of the Easy categories have already reached the point where improvements come a few million at a time (though new supergrazes or 2.0s might provide a larger boost). MarisaB is getting some competition in Lunatic and Extra, while SakuyaB is on Easy to Hard. I'd recommend watching 3123's latest Easy SakuyaB score as usual, but my own score is currently 130,000 higher actually; I expect 3123 will reclaim it soon enough though. Still no serious Lunatic non-MarisaB runs yet, or Extra non-MarisaB for that matter (beyond stage perfects).

Shimatora, not sure how often you're planning on updating the DDC records in the first post, but I think all the difficulties have at least a somewhat high "world" record by now to compare to. Perhaps it might encourage people here to go for the higher difficulties' MotK records?

My plan was to leave it until the 1st of September, that way it's in sync with Sapz's updates and allows ample time for higher scores to come out.

Holy shit this new MoF record is amazing, these strats! Duuuude NANA! What a champion!

Epic Sanae fight and great boss movements during Kanako's first spell! But.. those 2 grey items in stage 3 and that one in stage 6, and the frostthrower placement mistake on Sanae ;____;

Nanashi is a beast! He got 2,214,529,240 in MoF! http://score.royalflare.net/th10/replay10/th10_ud17ad.rpy

Watching it, I spotted not a single greyed item, his speedkill strats are gnarly as HELL, very actively moving the throwers during Nitori, makes no constellation mistakes at all during Aya, Sanae or Kanako! He even creates a super frostthrower constellation ON THE FLY during Sanae's midboss appearance, consequently netting over 600,000 more spell bonus (it wasn't flawless, only all 4 hit after the third movement from Sanae, it seems). This is one of the sickest superplays!

Doing LLS research.  Not quite a WR, but something cool - 203m with Yuka in MS Extra, which says a lot for Yuka, especially with how close it is to the Mima top score.  Player is ぴえとろ.

Also found these screenshots floating around some website (http://happymilk.net/) last updated in 2010 where I found the MS screenshot.  80.2m Extra and 106m Normal LLS, again by ぴえとろ

The 106m doesn't mean that much to me, since my routes already allow over 110 if done well, but it's a WR as far as known scores go, so I'm posting it for that.  The 80.2 Extra is big though.  For one, it's about 200k higher than the listed WR, which is huge considering the category.  The fact that this is the same guy who held the previous listed record says that 80 should be attainable with some degree of consistency with a good route and that it doesn't just boil down to lucky item drops and frame-perfect cancels as I once speculated.  It also scares the living shit out of me that an extra 200k is obtainable on that already obscenely good score.  This guy is something else.  In any case, there's definitely things to be enhanced on the current known route and this gives me a bit more motivation to figure out what.  I want to ask him about this stuff but I don't feel comfortable enough to approach him... I'm not even sure if he speaks English either, so language barrier may be a thing too.  But yes, I'll stop blogging about my excitement for now.  AAAAAAAH SO EXCITING!!!

^EDIT: Here's a theoretical close-to-max score.  Another 200k can be obtained from Mugetsu with a perfect cancel (I got 1.5m here, 1.7 is possible but the timing is extremely strict).  Lucky item drops can give a little more.  This run had heavy savestate abuse so it's not something I can submit.  Only posting it as a proof of concept sort of thing.  This is how a run with no mistakes should potentially look.  There was no abusing items dropped on death, just timings, cancels, and collecting most of Mugetsu's and Gengetsu's items at the top of the screen.  Important things to note: Mugetsu's first phase should be canceled during the blue-line shots, her second here (http://i.imgur.com/W7iq4Yj.png) on the second bullet turnaround (ie. first turnaround possible), Gengetsu's first on the pellet spam (obvious), second phase when she shoots those yellow pellets out, third one during the blue aimed shots, fourth when the bullet lanes are coming down, 5th whenever, and final whenever (clear bonus cap makes cancel timing worthless).

What it makes me wonder more than anything is if there are undiscovered techniques that we aren't utilizing. Are you sure the MS score was done with Yuuka? Google translate doesn't give me anything that suggests he used Yuuka for the run. I'm not sure if the screenshot is supposed to suggest he used Yuuka, and he may just be putting it there because of how absurd that section is if you use her. (And I notice his item count is about 10 less than it should be at that point if he were doing well.) If he can get 200m with Yuuka then there is definitely something big we're missing in that stage.

Well, I have some things I want to mess around with now. I guess I'll be going back to PC-98 land.

e: Wow. I just watched my MS Extra and it's actually kinda terrible. Bad stage collection, bad cancels on the first red and first purple phases. I think I could get an L score if I work on it. There are of course some luck heavy parts but that's no excuse for those shitty cancels. I should at least get a run where I do the boss right.

Well, I've just found something I can't explain while comparing my MS Extra run to the WR run. After ending Alice's first ice phase, both runs collect 34 items, and have almost the same bullet bonus (mine was slightly higher), however, the WR seems to gain almost 2m on me for no apparent reason. I tried adding up the points that should have been gained from the 34 items and the bullet bonus and, assuming my calculation were correct, the game seems to have denied me about 1.5m for no reason. I'm going to compare the runs side by side and check every phase. I hope I can find an explanation that isn't random luckshit!

edit: Didn't find anything else, though I've still no idea what caused that. I'll double check to make sure I'm not imagining it. If I'm not mistaken though then that took my K score away from me. :<

edit edit: oh of course, it's because I had to restore the dream gauge, so a few items were at low value. Nevermind then. :v

1,461,984,420 normal SakuyaB WR replay by LYX is the attachment. Why is it gone from royalflare?
Title: Re: Touhou Hall of Records
Post by: Karisa on October 23, 2013, 09:57:43 am
LYX has been doing that a lot lately. Uploading DDC replays to Royalflare then removing them after a few days, that is. Not sure why, but it's certainly better than hiding the replays entirely.

By the way, if you didn't know, nearly all first-place replays submitted to Royalflare are saved in the history (http://score.royalflare.net/th14/history14.html) page, even if removed. It's useful.

(I say "nearly all" because if someone uploads a replay and removes it immediately, the next replay to be uploaded will be given the same file name as the removed one. If the new replay also happens to be a first-place replay, it'll overwrite the other one when it's saved to the archive. I've seen this happen a few times with DDC already.)

I'm rather certain they're the same person. I can't be sure, though. It was discussed on #PoFV back when the new records by Ichizoku were released.

In addition to the similar playstyles and choices of movement even at parts where it doesn't matter, the old WR by Miruku was removed from Royalflare at the same time when Ichizoku's run was added.

Small update done and dusted.

On another note, I'm thinking about writing articles for the front page that highlight achievements in the scoring/survival world, such as new WRs and new MotK records. It wouldn't be limited to just this, the potential is huge for what I could write about. Would anyone be interested in this? Asking specifically in here for now as my intended audience is going to largely be those who frequent this thread.

The front page? as in Motk's? I don't know how many people that frequent this thread actually even bother looking at the it. I know I don't.

Now, don't get me wrong. The idea is good, but that's mostly something we see here anyway. I mean, how many people that don't visit HME will be interested what's happening in here? I don't see the point insofar that everyone who really cares visits this board anyway and sees the cool stuff the users here are doing. I don't want you to engage in a wasted effort.

I don't really see much point in making front page posts for people who frequent this thread-- if so, why not just post in the thread? I think a lot of us check HME more often than the front page, anyway.

If front page posts are created, I think they should be intended for a more general audience-- the sort of person who would not regularly, if ever, view the scoreboard forum. That is, they'd be posts that assume that readers are unfamiliar with the scoring systems, common challenges, or anything beyond basic clears-- even common terms like NMNB and supergraze might need to be explained. I'm not sure if there would be much interest, but it might be worth a try.

This could work as a newsletter to the rest of the site because there are plenty of subsections that don't know a lick of what goes on here. ...Granted I say this but I'm not sure how much activity there is to talk about in the first place. Dunno man.

Agreeing with the others. Directing toward people who already visit here would be unnecessary. Conceivably you could write something directed toward the rest of the site but I'm not sure how many would really care.

I guess it depends on what you're planning. You say the potential is huge so maybe you have some ideas.

If anything like this happens in the future, anyway, I think it'd be preventable by adding a zero-width non-breaking space (character U+2060) somewhere in the word. Like I did here. Well, it looks like as of today, it is has been proven that, yes, it is humanly possible to get 2 Billion in Double Dealing Character, and UKT is the first to prove this to be so, playing as Sakuya-B on Lunatic! Man, that guy's sure something else, but hey, if he did such an awesome job at Subterranean Animism (I wonder if he ever will do a playthrough that'll break 5 billion there? He came pretty close, that guy!) this probably isn't very surprising, considering that there was a TAS replay somewhere that demonstrated that one could theoretically get 3 Billion in Double Dealing Character, so I thought it would only be a matter of time before someone humanly reaches 2 Billion there. Just didn't think it would be so soon!

http://score.royalflare.net/th14/levelchar14.html

A big improvement to boot, too, an almost 250 million scorepoint improvement! Dang, it must have been an incredible moment for UKT, suffice to say! I can't even imagine what feelings must have went through him when he actually broke the 2 Billion barrier! Hmm, I wonder what was the difference between his old record and the new record, in terms of technique. I didn't get to watch his old replay, before UKT replaced it with his new score.

You can find his previous WR on the history page here (http://score.royalflare.net/th14/history14.html#L3C5).

I watched both replays, and I gotta say that his former record was... well, kinda ugly to watch. His latest run has a much cleaner and neatly executed route, though it's a pity he failed so many spells (7, not counting the ones he had to bomb for PIV/faster kill). Also, better survival skills would mean more resources to use for PIV or simply a higher clear bonus (also, intentionally letting a bomb part drop before a spellcard to make sure you don't lose a bomb if you die always hurt my eyes).
However, since some DDC spellcards are both luck-based and total bullshit, not to mention the terrible damage SakuyaB's focused shot gets, capturing all the spells you don't have to bomb in a single run would require some serious survival skills and a huge amount of grinding. But some improvement can definitely be made there.
Title: Re: Touhou Hall of Records
Post by: Karisa on February 23, 2014, 01:20:46 am
Yay, a more polished DDC overall record! I was wondering how long it'd take. SakuyaB on Lunatic didn't seem very popular on Royalflare, probably from how weak her shot is. Though I see the category has been filling in with other scores since I last checked.

A note about comparing to the TAS: The TAS uses continues for increased bombs on Sekibanki, while Touhou scoring standards require a 1cc. So they're less comparable than it'd usually be to compare the TAS with the real-time WR.

I only mentioned the TAS thing, since I remember there was a TAS replay somewhere that pushed DDC's scoring mechanics to it's limit, to where that replay ended up with 3 Billion or so without continues. Or did that particular one actually used a continue? I've merely heard of that one (I saw it discussed on the thread about TAS scoreboards on the high score section. I think you mentioned it there I saw, Karisa), but actually didn't watch that particular TAS replay that bent DDC's scoring mechanics. That one made me think about how much score could be humanly possible to get in DDC, if 3 Billion was proven to be theoretically attainable by way of TAS.

Update:
*Actually, I saw you posted a video that shows it on that thread about TAS scoreboards, so I'll see that one*

Update:
*Okay, I saw the TAS video, and I see what you're saying. Wow, that is so strange that, for DDC, the more continues you use, the more your PIV goes up! At first, I didn't know what you were referring to, since I assumed the TAS replay was a 1cc until I actually sat down and watched it. Okay, well, I sure didn't know about that at all! That was very... Interesting. I really shouldn't have brought up the TAS thing here, then, since it used, like, 4 continues.*

Speaking of the devil, I saw Yusuke's latest playthrough on 2/25/2014, and predicted that he will do another playthrough. It seems I spoke too soon! Yusuke actually did another playthrough, and as of today, became the 1st person ever to brake 3.2 Billion for PCB! 3,219,688,800, to be exact! That spirit gun of his is just too op! Correct me if I am wrong, but Nal Yoo and mikeKOSA are the same person, aren't they? And if they are, it would probably be easier to have the same name for their IN scores and the EoSD score.

Next is that it's Hurst's DDC normal score, not Noobzor's, as far as I know.

And the last thing I saw was that the IN extra score should be higher for the MotK line:

Sakurei - 2,736,687,110

I don't think I missed anything else.

LoLK scoring has been progressing quickly since the full release-- the player who held the demo Sanae record, コレット (collett), has already reached a score of 2,137,184,450, and in Hard too. (Is 3 billion possible on Lunatic? Or even 4 billion? Graze-oriented systems tend to have quite a lot of room for improvement over time, as new or more efficient grazing methods are discovered.)

Meanwhile 美国妖精转转 (in-game name Reisen) has already broken the 2 billion mark on Normal (and reached 1.3b Easy). Looks like Reisen's the clear highest-scoring character with Easy's lower bullet density, but will Reisen win out over Sanae's bomb-grazing on Normal as well?

Not much in the way of polished Extra scoring yet-- the current highest score is a no-death Reisen run at 577m. I'd guess Reisen will easily keep the lead in Extra though, since at 40m per life Sanae's not gaining as much (potentially losing points) by bomb-grazing nonspells.

All replays can be found on Royalflare's th15 page (http://score.royalflare.net/th15/) at the time I'm posting, though I'm not sure how long they'll remain (since they're being improved frequently, and since Royalflare's page hasn't yet been cleared for the full release).

Sanae Extra record is 778m (http://replay.royalflare.net/replay/th15_udz015.rpy). 1 Billion  :o (http://score.royalflare.net/th15/replay15/th15_ud00c5.rpy).

Wow. Some nice supergrazes on the fire spells, impressive dodges to graze the stage portions, and wait, the death fairies have safespots?

Who's AM again? The name seems familiar, but I don't remember what else they did (and AM or こなたん isn't listed in the current world records). Former world record holder in another game?

On a different note, the Lunatic record is up to 2.3b (http://score.royalflare.net/archives/th15/th15_ud0055.rpy) now.

Yep, that's him.

I tried to use the safespot he used for the single jelly bean fairies, but no luck. Anyone else figured it out?

Literally just popped up the moment I check the LoLK scoreboard. LoLK Normal 2.4bil Sanae by Collet, which is now the overall WR for the entire game. (http://score.royalflare.net/th15/replay15/th15_ud00c9.rpy)

KG has the DDC WR now (http://score.royalflare.net/th14/replay14/th14_ud068a.rpy), and Reisen has the Hard WR (http://score.royalflare.net/th14/replay14/th14_ud068d.rpy)!!!

Also damn, that supergraze by collett, over 35k graze from Sagume's second spell!? I hope Reisen can do something like that with Reisen!

AM is so old and famous, he has his own, out-of-date wiki page http://en.touhouwiki.net/wiki/AM

Zelyx has broken a billion in Extra with Reisen (http://score.royalflare.net/archives/th15/th15_ud00f6.rpy), scoring slightly higher than AM's Sanae run as well. Edit: Zelyx's replays have been removed from Royalflare.

Also, collett has moved the overall WR back to Lunatic, with 2.58b (http://score.royalflare.net/archives/th15/th15_ud00fa.rpy).

Zelyx is a cheater, so don't pay his runs any attention. Everyone in Korea is currently going nuts because of him TASing.
Title: Re: Touhou Hall of Records
Post by: Karisa on October 04, 2015, 11:09:40 pm
Really? I couldn't see a significant difference between Zelyx's dodging and AM's dodging, and usually slowdown-assisted gameplay is pretty obvious. If anything, AM's movements in the part before midboss Doremy were harder to follow than Zelyx's.
Title: Re: Touhou Hall of Records
Post by: ふねん1 on October 05, 2015, 03:38:26 am
Yeah, I got the same impression from Zelyx's replay, it all looked like the usual scorerunning strategies. It did look like he was tapping pretty fast at parts during Junko's first card and the final, but I've seen much worse from actual TASers, so there's that. If he was cheating, he did a damn good job of hiding it.
Title: Re: Touhou Hall of Records
Post by: ARF on October 05, 2015, 02:38:42 pm
For reals? I used to think that I was pretty damn bad at spotting all but the most obvious cheaters.

For starters who the HELL is Zelyx? I suspected him being either a secret/old superplayer with a new tag, or a cheater from just seeing his score on the first replay posted on rf, one that didn't even beat AM.

As I was watching the replay it looked pretty legit at first, but then he moved kinda weirdly on Doremy's third, you know, these really fast small taps. I got really suspicious here.

Then he dashes upwards through a bunch of falling items when he could have gone around them to PoC everything at max value, which actually made me more suspicious about the legitimacy than the third midboss spell movement; true superplayers capable of true superplay just don't do stuff like this.

Then his movements during Hecatia's first spell just made me pretty certain that he cheats, it just seems unlikely that vibrating your fingers on the direction keys will yield good results consistently.

Looks like full hidrokobra slowdown TAS to me.

Reisen's improved the DDC overall WR to 2.09b (http://score.royalflare.net/archives/th14/th14_ud069e.rpy), 2 1/2 months after K・G's 2.07b. Considering they're both active scorers, looks like DDC Lunatic SakuyaB might finally have some competition...? It's about time, after how long UKT's run stood unchallenged.

Yu-suke gets 3,643,993,290 and a new overall WR in PCB using ReimuB.

His stats showed 70k resets and over 4500 hours of playing. This ought to be one of the most insane, of not the most insane touhou score of all time?

Incidentally, his stats also showed 77k resets for phantasm in total; with 28k being the highest on ReimuB.

LoLK overall record was improved to 2.72 billion, by kisara. (http://score.royalflare.net/archives/th15/th15_ud01da.rpy)

This is actually from 3 weeks ago, but I didn't notice it until now. I'll be watching this whenever I next get a chance.

To clarify about updating-- Shimatora's been away lately, and she prefers that I not update her threads, so she can better keep track of what's changed since the last update (and there's a lot of categories to check in this thread).

You bumping the thread might remind Shimatora of it if she decides to check up on here, but I'd say it's best you contact her directly, as she's barely active right now

I can see that, and it's kind of pointless to take the date of either quote into account since yours was over seven months ago (and mine almost a year ago), I just meant to point out that -only- Shimatora updates this thread and it's why it isn't updated frequently

Speaking of world records and such to update, Kisara has improved the LoLK overall WR to 2.861b! (https://pbs.twimg.com/media/CcR3Gf2UEAIWOHY.jpg:orig)

Unfortunately no replay has been uploaded yet, if at all.

I think since Shimatora has been neglecting her duty to uopdate this thread for over a year, even though she announced half a year ago that she was gonna do it soon it would be fine for someone else to do it....
I was hoping someone could atleast clarify why it hasn't happened even though she said it was gonna happen and give an update on if it is ever going to happen.

My apologies, life keeps on sideswiping me lately. With a mixture of real life issues and a dwindling interest in Touhou (not that I can even play the games these days, both because of a bad PC and my bad hands) my motivation has been extremely low. I'm currently discussing with Sakurei about allowing him to take over the thread.

After discussing the whole topic with Shimatora, we came to the conclusion that me taking over was the best course of action. As with her thread if you find any errors or have any suggestions, please post in this thread and I'll maybe consider to implement them. Thanks goes to NTSC-J from Shmups forum for the layout, as we 100% copied it. Expect updates within the first week of every month.

Thanks for pointing out the PoFV mistake.

As for the Cactu thing: He holds the world record but he never submitted it to this site. The highest score he submitted is the one I listed. I agree that it looks silly but that's how it is.

So, Kisara hit 2.45b in LoLK hard.
No replay yet. Hope one is found.

Here's the tweet. (https://twitter.com/kisara_3428/status/715193979248070657) Kisara is so good at LoLK... pretty crazy!  :smokedcheese:

He goes by many names. Apparently he doesn't like to be called Alan for some reason anymore either. Inefushi, Depre/Depression and A.H are probably not even all of his nicks.

Yu-suke's situation is far more extreme since everyone active isn't even close to giving him a scare in regards to his scores. Yu-suke is just far too detached from everyone else in terms of ability to have any kind of serious competition with anyone at the moment. And to top it off, it's not like anyone competent is working on actually try to beat him either so he's, like many other world record holders, I might ass, just stuck and alone in his categories with his level. But a similar situation can be applied to inefushi, depending on the shot type. No one strong enough is currently (to my knowledge) playing IN lunatic to beat any of the runs he has left. I think the only current lunatic (overall) world record holder who doesn't find himself in that kind of situation is Cactu (once Gobou stops doing MoF LNN lmao). Touhou has too many games and too few great players at the moment. Everyone does something else.

EVERYBODY PANIC!
ISC is done for. Camera glitch. Underflow. Check royalflare. We're all doomed...

And I see how it works now. On the last photo only you can hold the key down and keep the lens and slowdown active. Very similar to DDC incident only much easier to perform. Many scenes don't give enough graze and photos just cancel bullets giving no points. Of course only the lens can move during this time (including way offscreen) so another aim of glitchruns, especially in long scenes, is to find a spot that stays safe long enough to bring the bonus down.

It's all very humorous to be quite honest.

Post by: Karisa on May 20, 2016, 10:42:50 pm
Link to recent ISC scores on Royalflare (http://score.royalflare.net/th143/new143.html) to be helpful.

I only watched a few, but it seems the glitch wasn't actually always used (the scene naturally went below 0 from Aya's camera + Seija's camera in 6-2, for example).

I guess now we'll see what Royalflare decides, without having to wait for someone to succeed in a non-TAS DDC underflow outside of spell practice.

Just a suggestion I happened to think of when I was watching the board but have you thought of providing links to the replays/videos/pictures? At this point that might be quite a bit of work to get though.
Title: Re: Touhou Hall of Records
Post by: Sakurei on June 03, 2016, 06:29:58 pm
Not all replays have been released (LYX or NALIS for example) and there is no video of them either and then there are runs that had a replay on RF or something and it was removed. Having a link to something on every second run looks pretty weird. Not to mention that if you really care to watch a run, you can look for the replay on common sources (the wiki, RF, maybe even youtube). Not to mention that I really don't want to sully my hard drive by downloading SA replays or something :^)

I guess there's no point to keeping the old second thread anymore. If anyone else is willing to keep this updated, feel free to re-create the second thread.

Also, updated as best I could. I wonder if this chart might be better off as, say, a Google spreadsheet...

Does anyone know if new record alerts are posted anywhere (as they used to be on Twitter (https://twitter.com/thtopscore_bot) several years ago)? It takes much longer to check for new ☆ submissions for each Royalflare game than to check for new scoreboard posts, and not every world record is submitted there either. I suppose for now the world records will just need to be manually reported. Please also report any mistakes you may find.

Edit: I've archived Shimatora's original post here. It was last updated around 2016-11-15.

I know there's the Touhou Wiki (https://zh.touhouwiki.net/wiki/最高分纪录) which tracks for newly beaten World Records (including shot-type-specific ones). However I think records that don't get posted on RoyalFlare won't end up in this list. Personally I think displaying records like this is fine, although it would've been nice if the records linked to the replays of them.

The Chinese wiki has recent records? That's interesting. Seems faster than checking for ☆'s, at least.

I was considering a spreadsheet since that could auto-calculate/color the %, and keep the name/score/shot type/% aligned in columns (which could be easily adapted to add more columns, such as the date or replay link). It could also be more compact, for example by having the world records on the left and the MotK records on the right (or vice versa), allowing more than 1-2 games to be visible at the same time. Though keeping World/MotK vertically adjacent like this has its advantage for directly comparing the scores.

Edit: Here's a sample (https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/167eioYS_7Uo-9EqZsVK-NzO1VoQNwNB_7zMnGBCErgc/edit#gid=0) of what it could look like.

I've filled out the rest of my test spreadsheet (https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/167eioYS_7Uo-9EqZsVK-NzO1VoQNwNB_7zMnGBCErgc/edit#gid=0)-- any thoughts?

It's adaptable for a replay column, though it'd take a while to retrieve all the links.

That does look pretty good, although I think you can drag the columns for replays so it is a bit longer? I'm not too sure, I thought it was possible in Google Spreadsheets.

I know; I'd rather ask for feedback first without taking the time to fill up (and adjust the size of) a replay column.

Edit:
Filled out the world record replays, prioritizing Royalflare archive links when possible. Also found a new DDC Extra record in the process: 1,174,161,900 (http://score.royalflare.net/archives/th14/th14_ud0740.rpy) by "Marisa".

Is there something not trustworthy about EoSD Hard ReimuB 519,447,540 by 茉莉花 (http://score.royalflare.net/archives/th06/th6_ud1596.rpy)?

If I recall correctly, it's another one of Ichizoku's cheated scores.

Also new PoFV ex WR - 323,094,170 (http://replays.gensokyo.org/download.php?id=41935) by FSX. Just pointing it out here since no place on royalflare for PoFV sadly. Just making sure you'd notice it.
Title: Re: Touhou Hall of Records
Post by: Karisa on November 16, 2016, 08:00:56 am
I finished filling out the replay columns. Also auto-generated the record holder frequency that Shimatora used to manually include, along with some random mostly-pointless trivia for fun. Heartbeam still holds a surprising quantity of records for someone who closed their account around 2012.

I wonder if a format like this could work for MotK's best scores on the single-stage games, to have more options than those old total-score StB/DS threads? It seems like it'd be too much work to have full submissions for those, since people could easily submit 50 or so replays at the same time, but perhaps the best score for each stage wouldn't be too difficult to track?

Make that 16 WRs by in 4 months. The last few are very slight improvements, 1,224,623,140 (http://score.royalflare.net/archives/th14/th14_ud0759.rpy) as of this post-- is DDC Extra MarisaB actually near-maxed?

Edit: MarisaB is also being improved on Lunatic lately, the latest record being 1,813,451,730 by leo (http://score.royalflare.net/archives/th14/th14_ud075b.rpy). Unfortunately it desyncs on both stage 3 and stage 6...

Looks like kisara's nearly swept the LoLK records, including the overall record on all 5 difficulties, and most of the rest as of now. The latest is Hard Reisen 2,549,910,870 (http://score.royalflare.net/archives/th15/th15_ud02c3.rpy). Despite their different play styles, Reisen and Sanae records are close on all difficulties except Lunatic (and arguably Easy, where Reisen's always remained ahead).

Also, izumico improved EoSD Hard to 523,094,750 (https://en.touhouwiki.net/images/4/47/Th6_ud2497.rpy), higher than the apparently cheated score, this time with a replay.

Apparently this was from several years ago, no one ever noticed this guy's scores for some reason.

Nanamaru (ななまる) (http://nanamaru07.blog54.fc2.com/blog-entry-140.html) - MoF Extra MarisaC 1,003,229,380 on 2012/06/28

Only noteworthy thing I could find, found this information from Seventh who is also another MoF scorer. Although for some reason I can't find this specific replay...
Worth noting that he had the previous WR of Lunatic MarisaC (which got overtaken again now, it seems).

Looks like March has been a good month for overall records.

EoSD Lunatic broke the 700 million mark-- 709,947,060 (https://en.touhouwiki.net/images/0/09/Th6_ud7099.rpy) by SOC, a player who I recall was known for Lunatic perfects in the past?

Also, GFW Lunatic is up to 120,193,990 (http://score.royalflare.net/archives/th128/th128_ud07ab.rpy), by someone who submitted as "The Challenge", in-game "CHALENGI". The wiki lists the player as "megapulse" though.

Might update this post once I get around to watching the new records.

As the person who updates the english leaderboards (but not neccesarily the chinese one, though I certainly do at times), I feel I should explain why it lists the player name as "Megapulse", and the underlying situation behind this.

"The Challenge" is basically an injoke in the english speaking Touhou discords. Put simply, he stole multiple runs - most notably テン's 2.994 billion SA lunatic MarisaC run - and did a terrible job of hiding it. The video is here. (https://youtu.be/Jek9HwGna8s) We called him out - notice he disabled comments.
Basically it became a meme to joke about him being some superplayer of legends.

Megapulse took it too far and uploaded a replay to RF under that name. We know it's him - Chum is currently not playing GFW, and Megapulse is the only other person capable of 120m right now. Moreover, this is not the first time he's done this - he uploaded the same run to another thing under "The Challenge". Notice the second half of the description references the video title - "only a lunatic would even try."

I basically told KyoriAsh (who usually updates the chinese wiki's leaderboards) and we both decided to have the score up there under the name "megapulse" because it's his replay.

I can also confirm with 99% certainty this is not actually the WR - Mega is hiding replays, even score numbers, which is frustrating... he would not reveal his PB.

I hope that clears everything up.

MegaPulse also raised GFW Lunatic A2 to 125,597,130 (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=URhKftFxZiQ). In the video it says the player is 溶けない炎天下の氷精. Although I don't know what this reads, I'm pretty sure it's still MegaPulse, as he's the only one actively scoring A2 and the only active WR-level scorer I'm aware of. That and the fact that he's been streaming his runs with the Brown Label and his playstyle very much looks like MegaPulse's.

Edit: It was confirmed that this run is indeed from MegaPulse

溶けない炎天下の氷精 probably means something like "the ice fairy that doesn't melt under the hot sky".

It's definitely Mega of course. No other way.

A.H broke the 6.8 billion mark in IN Lunatic. (https://en.touhouwiki.net/images/0/0b/Th8_ud3936.rpy) Replay was on Royalflare's temporary uploader, not sure why.

On a semi-related note, Royalflare never added a scoreboard for the HSiFS demo, when for the last few demos there's been one within the first few weeks. I wonder if they haven't decided how to split the categories, either?

For anyone not aware yet, collett already reached 6 billion within the first day of release (https://en.touhouwiki.net/images/f/f4/Th16_ud4379.rpy). I'd be surprised if HSiFS isn't higher than IN when more optimized.

7,116,020,860 by collett (http://score.royalflare.net/th16/replay16/th16_ud003b.rpy). It's interesting how HSiFS is both the lowest-scoring main series game in a while when not scoring, and the highest when scoring.

Also Royalflare does have a scoreboard (http://score.royalflare.net/th16/), but the message at the top claims it's temporary? I suppose it isn't done yet?

Edit: It's done as of 9-9 (but was indeed reset). I've updated the replay links to use the new scoreboard.

GFW Lunatic A2 was raised to 128,380,620 (https://puu.sh/ykuHO/8f80a4249e.png) by MegaPulse. Same deal as before, though I also came across an earlier personal best of 127,547,600 (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P_8QkprTtnA) of his that he recently uploaded to (I assume) his YouTube.

HUF also raised LoLK Lunatic to 3,209,081,800, あおち (aochi) got 7,477,932,830 in HSiFS Lunatic and izumico raised HSiFS Extra to 3,252,215,310. No replay for the latter, but I've seen it being gotten live on stream on CaveTube.

There's a couple new world records in HSiFS. First, yuushaou broke the 5 billion barrier on Normal with a score of 5,022,740,050 (http://score.royalflare.net/th16/replay16/th16_ud0185.rpy) back in November.

And just today, Cirno set a new record of 1,551,361,400 (http://score.royalflare.net/th16/replay16/th16_ud01f2.rpy) on Easy using the Winter season, and almost reached the piv cap. Was quite surprised to see Summer being overtaken by Winter on Easy.

Finishing the year, aochi got 7,540,456,210 in HSiFS Lunatic, with Marisa/Fall. HSiFS Easy was raised to 1,621,412,360 by Cirno. As for scores from a while back, ニャムニャム raised UFO Extra to 740,972,090, MegaPulse raised GFW Lunatic to 128,637,250, Marisa raised DDC Extra to 1,233,372,960 and Kisara raised LoLK Normal to 2,625,622,800.

Technically kisara also raised LoLK Hard to 2,596,367,480, but it's a Game Over on penultimate spell.

Is 桜庭ローラ the same person as aochi? The in-game replay name is aikatsu.

桜庭ローラ is the same person as aochi. Even though he used different names for both replays, both of his clears were on his Twitter (https://twitter.com/mi_aochi).

Vex got 11,695,280 (https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/210866538918445057/405113940658356235/unknown.png) in HRtP Hard (Makai).

Izumico got 678,104,400 (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H56IUjVwr4w) in EoSD Extra with ReimuB

MegaPulse got 129,065,270 in GFW Lunatic A2

Kisara got 2,711,256,800 in LoLK Hard with Sanae and also got 1,710,604,140 with Reisen on Easy.

桜庭ローラ got 8,158,881,390 in HSiFS Lunatic with Aya/Autumn. Also to clarify, supposedly this player's name is referred to as "hayamin".

レックス (REX) got 1,826,352,390 in HSiFS Easy with Cirno/Winter.

Then something I noticed on the list some time earlier, is the MS Lunatic record is 173,066,760 by Arashi Ai. Though those I asked, didn't know a thing about this person and his score, nor know of any existing proof. How exactly did you guys come to know about this score in the first place?

I don't actually recall where that came from, but it's not in the last version of Shimatora's post, so it was added after the spreadsheet formed. I guess Zigzagwolf mentioned it at some point that I forgot? I'd PM him but it seems he hasn't been active lately.

I just heard that this "Arashi Ai" is a Spanish scoreplayer who posted a screenshot of his run on this Spanish forum site (http://bunbunmaru.org/index.php). But apparently the screenshot that was posted no longer exists. Not even retrievable with the Wayback Machine. So that said, it's up to you people whether the score is worth keeping on the scoreboard or not. One thing I heard I wasn't aware of, is that apparently Spanish players in the past were very notorious for cheating. Either way this score is nothing super-spectacular so in this case it's debatable at best.

Gonna share some new records of the past 2 months:

HRtP Easy (Jigoku) 13,117,240 (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KxCChOrQs0E) by Pearl
HRtP Hard (Makai) 11,831,570 by Pearl
HRtP Lunatic (Jigoku) 14,380,250 (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Roew09aJbvo) by Pearl
GFW Lunatic (A2) 129,257,450 (https://puu.sh/zAAQG.png) by MegaPulse
LoLK Lunatic (Reisen) 3,253,389,490 (http://score.royalflare.net/th15/replay15/th15_ud0351.rpy) by RB
HSiFS Easy (Cirno/Winter) 1,983,091,650 (http://score.royalflare.net/th16/replay16/th16_ud02a8.rpy) by レックス (REX)
HSiFS Normal (Aya/Autumn) 5,252,741,570 (http://score.royalflare.net/th16/replay16/th16_ud029d.rpy) by そにつく (Sonitsuku)
HSiFS Extra (Cirno) 3,319,395,440 (http://score.royalflare.net/th16/replay16/th16_ud0269.rpy) by fon

Also some small errors in the document, HRtP Normal record was in the Jigoku Route. Yu~Suke's PCB Easy record has no replay according to the document, but there is one on the Wiki (https://en.touhouwiki.net/images/2/26/Th7_udz869.jpg). Izumico has a higher score in EoSD Hard from a while back that's not listed. That being 551,876,370 (https://en.touhouwiki.net/images/c/cd/Th6_udio08.rpy) with ReimuB.

Should be updated. Impressive improvement to HRtP Easy.

Where's the PCB Easy record replay you mention? There isn't one on the wiki now, and your link leads to a Chinese(?) .jpg file.

Strange. It looks like the file no longer leads to the replay? I have downloaded it before from there. In that case I'll add the replay file I have here for now which should be Yu~Suke's 2.04b run

EDIT: The link should be fixed now and lead to the replay (https://en.touhouwiki.net/images/9/91/Th7_udz869.rpy). For some reason they replaced the extension with .jpg even though the .rpy file is still uploaded on the Touhou Wiki (https://onsen.touhouwiki.net/wiki/File:Th7_udz869.rpy).

Oh, and I also found ARF's old MoTK record (https://en.touhouwiki.net/images/b/b6/Th16_ud4632.rpy) of HSiFS Extra on the Touhou Wiki. It still links to a dead link because it was uploaded on RF's temporairy uploader. As for my HSiFS Normal MoTK record (https://en.touhouwiki.net/images/0/07/Th16_ud4559.rpy), that one has found it's way on to the Wiki as well.

HSiFS 8,377,262,100 (http://score.royalflare.net/archives/th16/th16_ud037b.rpy) by そにつく (sonitsuku).

Edit: I also found a method to display "100%" instead of "100.00%" in the spreadsheet, when the WR is here on MotK.
Any opinions on which looks better? "100%" with no decimals is accurate to Shimatora's old layout, but I'm not sure how it looks on a spreadsheet.

EoSD Lunatic (ReimuB) 734,293,880 (https://i.imgur.com/CGh2dBh.png) by Izumico
No replay

LoLK Normal (Reisen) 2,674,926,790 (http://score.royalflare.net/th15/replay15/th15_ud0389.rpy) by RB

HSiFS Extra (Aya) 3,442,485,180 (https://i.imgur.com/TpFjMVd.png) by izumico
No replay

Additionally, izumico's video of his EoSD Extra record was deleted and his Twitter account was deleted as well.

I personally have no preference for how percentages are shown. I think it's fine the way it is.
