I think we all have at least one character we identify with in the Touhou series. Someone that's just a little bit like us to make us identify with them and say "I'd probably be like her if I was in Gensokyo".
Contrary to my kickin' avatar and signature (Chiyuri wins <3) I think that I would most identify with Alice. I tend to stay in my room away from people most of the time and love just relaxing by myself with nobody to bug me. I just like the peace and tranquility that you can only get by yourself.

I gotta say that the Touhou character that I mirror the most must be Nitori. Why? Because I'm studying to be an engineer, and of course, because I loooove science.

Kourin:my hobby is my work,i want work in it,but no works,XD.and very intelectual,lonely and looks more younger than my true age.Younger people like molest me sometimes.My room is full of odds and ends and like collect things.
Patchouli:Knowledge in lots of ambits.no likes go outside much.(in fanon,she is a yaoi or yuri fangirl who draws doujins;me too.)

Alice:likes dolls too much,seems sometimes like a tsundere...(when im in love,im a bit tsundere too,no likes who the person of my love knows who many love i have for him.XD) she is lonely,perfectionist and have a GREAT mom.
Komashi:a gold heart but is lazy.

Sanae, I guess, cause I thought I was pretty smart/special/awesome/whatever until I came to uni and realised that everyone was almost as capable as me if not more. The main difference is I have all the dedication and diligence of Reimu.

When you put it that way I guess I'll use characters for the other aspects of my personality.
Parsee - I can get mildly jealous of others because of their awesome social lives and my lack thereof. I get really jealous when people go out for fun and stuff and I get left behind.
Sakuya - I tend to be extremely loyal and caring to my friends, family, and those that I trust. If you are close to me and I trust you, I'll do just about anything for you.
Chiyuri - Carefree and fun-loving, but still loyal to those around me. Can get a little carried away sometimes. And even though she's not a literal sailor, I love the ocean.

Well, what do you expect? You expect us to identify with Remilia, the uptight arrogant aristocrat? The slightly psychopathic gardener? The cat that likes gathering corpses and putting them in her wheelbarrow?
I guess I also identify with Youmu, because I'm also someone who believes in playing by the rules, is absurdly ignorant about many of the finer points in life, and has a tendency to be playfully bullied by everyone around them.

Yeah, it's pretty difficult to identify with the Touhou characters. That's part of why it's such good fantasy though. Characters you can identify with tend to be boring because most real people in this era are boring. I've a pretty uninteresting life so it's hard to identify with people with super-quirky personalities who hang out with other crazy people.
People like to pretend to be "crazy", all those scene kid ROFL SO RANDOM xD types, but unfortunately I don't think any of us are as cool as even the relatively undeveloped Touhou cast :(

This is off topic, but I just realized: How good would Touhou characters be at Touhou? XD I imagine Alice's dexterity would make her really good, but she'd pick the most unusual shot type because winning with the easiest route would be boring.

Make a thread if you think it's that interesting, but I don't usually make such threads. I think it's more interesting to think how the Touhous would react to the games and series in general (ignoring the fact that it would cause paradoxes for them to see themselves in-game), and if they became a fan, would they be a fan of the games, listen to IOSYS songs, or be somewhere in between?

I think I identify with Yuyuko most alright. The way she's kind of silly and ditzy but comes out with insightful knowledge etc. her general disposition I identify with most plus unlike a lot of the Touhou girls she's not totally bitchy and/or messed up, just dead.

I think i identify mostly with Reisen Udonge Inaba.
She's level headed, and thinks logically and with more common sense than some (or even most) characters. I'd imagine she would be pretty easy to talk with and whatnot despirte being a youkai who can induce lunacy. Deep down though she is a rather hurting figure with a large burden from her past that she just can't leave alone.
I totally feel like that myself. The stability she has when with others and conducting business with anyone i feel and the pain of something horrid in the past. I totally feel with her.

Patchy: I love to read, and I can't stand the sun. I would rather be alone then to deal with everyday live. People just annoy me, especially the immature ones. If people barge in my room, I will get pissed off.
Marissa: I'm very cocky, even when I'm losing. People have told me I'm insane and a freak. I'm a pack rat beyond what's believable, I love to collect things, and borrowing things is a problem for me. I tend to give things back a year later.

Mokou- I love to hate. I can't say I'm proud of who I am, but chances are, if you are not a good friend of mine and you piss me off, I will hold a grudge against you for a loooong time. I still have a few people I want to beat the shit out of because of how much they pissed me off in middle school. I also have only 1 friend and about 90% of the time, I want to be alone in my room, headphones in my ears and just do whatever. Sorry, but a "I'm sorry" doesn't cut it for me most of the time. The only difference I can think of is that I have no desire for an eternal life- it'd be an eternity of suffering.

Hm... Maybe caught somewhere between Byakuren and Patchouli? I don't really have any friends in real-life, so I'm kinda sorta alone (Patchouli matches that more than Alice IMO...) but for some reason, I also kind of want to help people, but I have no idea how...

I think that Komachi's would be the personality to fit me the most - kind and unmotivated. I also have somewhat deviant tastes when it comes to content that I watch on the internet but I don't know which Touhou character would reflect that. :-X
Anyway, the character that I would want to identify myself more with is Shikieiki. She seems like one who would have a good structure in the daily life and get things done well in a reasonable space of time. Unlike myself. :V

Patchouli: I rarely go out, and I love reading. Also my room is always dark.
Alice: Because I'm an elitist and I distance my self from others, because they're irritating. And I love strategy even thought I'm not good at it.
Sanae: I actually tell people that I'm more than a human. And just like her, I would kill to meet supernatural beings. I'm also obedient to my parents because I respect them. I can be also nice and friendly.
Yukari: I have really, REALLY weird thought process, what causes me the problems above. And I call myself a Theoryfag for a reason: I'm always theorizing about something. ALWAYS. Last time I've made a theory about the existing Being, as a creature who lives one dimensional, thinks two dimensional etc. and if we could think three dimensional and live two dimensional, we would be Gods even more than God itself. (Also, living in two dimension means the state of Necrofantasia aka without a border of Life and Death.)

I'm a big mashup between patchy for my reading and being somewhat introverted, yukari for my...er...personality traits, tenshi for the fact i'm an immature teenager, satori for my demeanor when met in person, koishi for when i'm in a really good mood, keine because i actually happen to be smarter than most people around me, shiki for being so darn judgemental about morals (Me to humanity: you darn degenerate sex obsessed animals, you make freud look like he was right!), and lastly alice for the way i carry out life.

I suppose it's fair to say that my last post was probably a bit off...
Shy mode - Everyone seems to praise me, but I don't think I do THAT good. Plus, I blush. Closest bet is Nitori.
Annoyed Mode - The mode where I really wish people would stop talking to me, or at least stop being annoying... Plus, most people tend to take my sketchbooks. Patchouli, no doubt.
Normal Mode - Probably the most alert here, and I'm pretty well capable of doing a lot more, and I smile. I might even brag a bit, and my emotions seem more like facades at emotions. Koishi, but otherwise Alice here.
Crazy Mode - If you've seen a pattern yet, take a guess. I'm as wild as Marisa.
Yeah... Overall, I match best with Koishi, as I could probably fake "shy", too, but y'know...
