Title: Touhou games won't run in fullscreen.
Post by: Zengeku on July 15, 2010, 06:23:29 PM
Hi there. I have run into some very annoying trouble. Every single Touhou game simply won't enter fullscreen mode. Well yeah, they do enter full screen mode but it doesn't take up the entirity of the screen as it should. The game screen is just centered in the middle with a big black void around it. The screen is about the size of the windowed setting.

I have to describe it as i cannot screenshot it. If i do so, the screenshot only gets the game.

It just happened out of the blue from one day to another. Does anyone know what might be wrong? I hope someone does. I can't play for shit like this!

It might have to do with your monitor settings. I know that unless I set my screen to fix aspect ratio I get all kinds of problems. I'd play with your display settings a bit and see what happens.

I found this button that reverts the system settings to an earlier state. I made it go back to how it was a week ago where things worked and that solved it. Luckily.

I think the Vsync patch has an option to force a certain scaling on your fullscreen'd game. Maybe poke around the .ini?

Yes i did try that but it seems the computer didn't know things weren't fullscreen. I did attempt to take a screenshot and i only got the game. Not the black void around the screen.

It happened to me before because of graphics settings.
Like, the graphics card just decides not to scale things, but rather, put it in a black void.
