Ok, this is an idea I just thought up, that'll either go decently well or completely flop i'm guessing. :V This thread is a kindred spirit to the 'Favorite Depiction' thread, except a little different.

Explain what you like about your favorite characters, except with a catch. No words, but up to three pictures that give an good impression of the personality depiction that you like the most (Or even three completely different interpretations that show their dynamic nature!)

Yes! Though something seems to be up with that second Yuugi picture's link.

Really, a picture is worth a thousand words, and it's way easier to show why you like a character as opposed to saying why.

Sapz: That's the challenge, and part of what separates this from 'Let's post pictures of our favorite characters!'

I might actually try posting Chen when I get home, because there's a particular depiction of Chen I like that you don't see very often.

This thread idea is exce-cool. Unfortunately I don't really browse thru Touhou images so I can't reall conjure up some to do what I'd like.
Hele's Remi shot is indeed good, but it lacks her potentially friendly charisma too. The same kind that won patchy's hard to win (and flan's) heart, along with Sakuya's abnormal loyalty IMO. I'd offer one that captures that aspect well, but...yeah >=(

As far as I can tell, the three pictures are supposed to portray the three best aspects of a character's personality, or at least one interpretation of it. Posting three awesome pictures... doesn't exactly do that. There's a reason why we don't just post all these in the "lol touhou pics" thread.

Actually I tried to find a childish picture of Remilia acting like a little bitch. But I couldn't find one aside from the overload of moe-moe stuff which is not in my perspective her canon form. I don't see any friendly Charisma in Remilia, as she is a spoiled childish brat. I'll add one more picture now that I brainstormed, which might fit Remilia.

I figured that was the purpose of this thread from the beginning. So I handpicked a few things that I believe got my point across.

Trust me, I didn't just pull any random Luize or Shinki pic off my majhost for this. Then again, it's not exactly easy with Luize since there's barely any art of her :/

But, I like the three picture thing and how you get to express three (possibly) different aspects of the character you love so much.
Since, if it was just one picture to show that you like the interpretation of the character, wouldn't this be the same as "Favorite depiction of Touhou characters" thread?
...Although I do agree that you might want it to be three pictures pointing at different aspects of the character.
But then again using words to fulfill that purpose seems to defeat the purpose of the thread...

Yeah I know that remi is often a spoiled brat but she can be polite in public too, and though it's not officially canon, I like to think she can be friendly too, due to the oodles of loving sisterhood fanon  with
flan. Not to mention how patchy is labelled as her friend and not just a librarian under employment. Last, she she desplays a friendly grateful reaction to the thing patchy/sakuya makes in PCB's good ending

But if that's not one of the top 3 aspects you like or feel imortant I won't try and convince you, I just don't want people to think my reasons for thinking she CAN be a good person are baseless.

I too noticed some shots in this thread seemed to be little more than someone looking badass or cute. But I won't call em all out since they might communcate something else to a seperate pair of eyes.

Well, posting three awesome pictures could be fine if that's what you like about that character to the exclusion of other parts (like for example you like Badass World Destroyer Okuu but don't like the Dumb-as-Rocks Okuu or Moe-kuu). There's a lot of varied things I like about Suwako, but I chose to feature her adorable side, her badass/caregiving side, and her 'quarrel-with-Kanako' aspect in the three pictures I chose.

All the images look fine to me personally. They may not be the most obvious trait or aspect of the character but I'm sure they all say something even if it's subtle (it would be much clearer to write what you sense from the image, but that’s obviously not the point of this topic anyway ;) ). And not to mention we all have different interpretations of them as well.
I would have liked to post some Tenshi, but I couldn't find anything that really *looked* like her to me, I guess that’s where the subtleness comes in again :p

There are many aspects of Aya's personality that make me love her. Here are three of them. They're maybe not my all-time favorite images of her, but I think they capture three sides to her personality that make her a favorite of mine (Danbooru links):

If you want a more detailed explanation, then here:

The first image conveys Aya's free spirit, her limitless curiosity and her drive. The second image, to me, shows her sense of wonder - reading her comments on different spellcards, it's obvious she can experience awe and amazement at the beauty of the world around her. The third image is a rarer side to her. It's one of reflection and contemplation. There's a certain sadness that sometimes arises in her remarks, in interviews and in spellcard comments, that make me think Aya has melancholy moments.

I'd add that I do also find the "troll of Gensokyo" aspect to her pretty funny, but it's not high on my list of reasons why I love her.
