Anyone else picked this up yet? The level of customizability is incredible and I'm getting an old-school vibe that I really like.

Post by: trancehime on March 20, 2010, 01:53:10 PM: I have completed Mugen Kouro and I must say it was a pretty unique experience. I enjoyed it and found it decent for what it was, but eh. It's far from one of the best games I have played. Only thing I truly liked was the philosophy involved in it, it's quite deep. I wonder how well the US version captured it...

The ship battles do take some getting used to. There's an in-game tutorial, but it's pretty quick and dirty and you have to play for a little while to really get a feel for how things flow. They are really fun once you know what you're doing, though.

Also, I haven't had to grind at all so far (~10 hours in). I've gotten a few game overs, but it was usually right after being like "oh crap why the hell did I just do that."

I got trashed the first time I got to the first void gate battle. I tried again, upgrading my weapons and it was pretty easy. Then I got trashed by the first random encounter past the void gate before I could make it to the nearest spaceport.
