Something Awful is a little more stable than a controversial wiki, so don't worry.Well I did it anyway lol. I found out the guy has a YouTube account and I messaged a formal message about this thread and how thankful we are(come on I know some others are) for those translations and asked him if he could do the three bad endings.
Just like to point this out since nobody else has, but doesn't ZUN have some sort of rule against posting the endings online? That's always seemed kinda important to me, since he doesn't ask a whole lot else.Yes but this is for english translating purposes. The touhou-endings.wikia.com was gone. Everyone else just translates the windows games
Somehow though, I think the people doing the PC98 English patches already had a translated script for the endings.
I'm no expert on Something Awful, but something tells me if it was brought to their attention that ZUN didn't want the endings to be spoiled, they'd be like "cool story bro," and move on. Methinks you're taking it a little too seriously.
We heard that for like months...and there was no update on anything related to PC98
The same could be said of SWR, but progress on that was continuous throughout. For that matter, we've received news on patch progress pretty much every time the question of the PC98 patches have come up, courtesy of the user Alice Margetroid. Or was that what you were referring to when you said that you heard it for months?
to be a jerk, it's a lot better to assume he expects that you learn Japanese for yourself, instead of expecting translation patches in your mother tongueHeh. I rather pay them to do the patches. That'll get them going. (I don't have time to learn japanese). :D
Seems you can't view topics on the SA forums without an account right now. There's nothing on the front page about it, and I can't seem to find news about this anywhere else, so I'm pretty much in the dark here. However, in the mean time you can access the currently uploaded LPs from this directory (http://www.kisamayatsu.com/TH/); the html files take you to the pages you're used to for viewing them. Thanks! I'll keep checking for updates. So far theres an ending, awaiting translation...
Update!

Mostly on the subject of endings. It WAS brought up on one of the pages, I believe during Lotus Land Story.I show off endings on youtube. I got a couple of complaints but I uploaded them because i know some people suck at Touhou lmao. Yeah it's useless.
It was immediatly called the stupidest part of the whole of Touhou outside of powerlevels or something and the person running the thread (who is also a moderator over there) said that BECAUSE it's taboo they feel like showing off endings more, to be a rebel. Followed was discussion on how it was utterly pointless because, in the case of PC-98 games, no one COULD see/understand the endings normally. Then onto talking about how this was in English so why would ZUN even care.
Yeah I know, but I'm just saying it'd be kinda sad that they'd just bypass them because they don't know about them. Hell, if playing through it was the only reason they wouldn't translate those endings, I'd be willing to record them and send it to them. >_>For LLS, they go "Hey there's an extra stage and stuff but I'm not going through all the effort needed to learn it so here's someone ELSE doing it" and links to some video. So they know there ARE extra stages. Although, they might not know MS Extra actually has endings; albeit very short ones.

...Which is what I was talking about it in the first place. >:V Even if it's greyed out initially, extra is always shown on the title screen.Well theres always cheat engine. Google it:P
Looks like they've moved on from PC-98. And that is where my interest in this LP ends. :P
