Title: Yu-gi-oh DS 2010
Post by: Forte Blackadder on March 03, 2010, 09:43:31 AM
Official name: Yu-Gi-Oh 5Ds World Championship 2010 Reverse of Arcadia

I myself love the character customization. It also has a great amount of card (almost everything you need now, fabled, blackwing, lightsworn, fortune lady... deck). The only thing I hate is they got some random crash and you cannot skip the scenes (they're loooooooooooooooooooooooong)

Overall it's good. Anyone playing? :D

Using fortune lady deck now, quite new to me.

Hey man, Synchros are awesome

:dealwithit:

(Certain fusions are cheaper anyways)

I've never used fusion ... no, really. Ritual, like once or twice.
Focusing on effect and tactics around it so Synchro is quite neat.

HA YOUR FUSION ACTIVATED MY TRAP CARD.

Anyways I have no clue what happened to the rules after they banned Raigeki years ago. So I likely won't puchase this.

Wow, that's like the very very beginning.

I remember it beeing allowed once in decks at one point. It was fun when i finnaly had one IRL and totally suprised my freind with it. Because I had a crap deck mostly because I had to take freebie cards from freinds and slowly built it up by trading.

what the fuck I didn't even know they did that. how long have I been not playing?? I stopped right after the first collectors tins were being released...

the Yu-Gi-Oh games were always fun, the AI was a bit extrasensory if you ask me, but still challenging and fun. Maybe I'll pick this one up if I have some money.

I don't remember this. I do remember that you could only have one of that (and Dark Hole OH MAN). Such cheap cards~

couldn't you have two dark holes (lol)?

but seriously some trap cards were OP, like the one where you destroy one monster on the field when one of your monsters dies.
bye bye blue eyes

The meta has changed drastically since it first started and is still changing.

Most decks usually revolve around swarming the field now. I think Lightsworns are the most used archetype at the moment.

I used Fusion before it was hip.

...it was horrible. Machines were the way to go for making big atk points.

XYZ Dragon, Frontline base, Limit Remover, Last Will, now that was a deck!

Wow, that's like the very very beginning.

In the beginning there were no restrictions at all :X

And the rules were shittily maintained. That's actually why I quit. Nothing more annoying than rule confusion in a manually conducted game.

Oh that reminds me! Are destroyed cards still left on the field until the end of a chain? That was probably THE dumbest, most random, and most contradictory change I ever saw in this game. I don't think Japan ever got that rule.

Lightsworns got the nerf bat :smug:

Yes, unless a card specifically state to destroy a target card in the card, which will immediately send the target to the grave when that card resolve it's effect. Technically they are all "in the process/on the way" to the graveyard, and the reason they count on the field is so some card effect that count cards on the field can also count them before they go to grave. Like...you have to count the dead bodies too before orin ship them away.

Anyway, you will hate the timing rule and specific card ruling.  ::)

Lightsworns got the nerf bat :smug:
Is popular, but now Black Wing is the most meta. Although Lightsworns help you make a lot of DP in game.

I think the only real nerf they had so far is Honest being semi-limited.

Necro Gardna to one
Charge of the Light Brigade to one
Lumina, Lightsworn Summoner to one
Foolish Burial to one
And yeah Honest to two

Not nearly as bad as what happened to Zombies though :V

really, I thought all they took was Mezy to 1 and Burial to 1.

DARK BRIBE
LIGHTNING VORTEX
RAIGEKI

This game's AI just hates me.

Thank goodness I have Barrel Dragon to make me feel better. Fistbump, Naut.

Oh man, what fun.

This is what I call the Heinous Shit Combo.

Details in spoilers:
Turbo Duel (Rex Goodwin)
If in the chance I go first, I must summon a monster to avoid getting mauled.
If Rex has in his hand both Oracle of the Sun God and Red Ant, he'll use Oracle's effect (Special Summon if no monsters on his side of field and I control a monster), summon the Red Ant as well, then SYNCHRO SUMMON INTO THE EIGHT STAR RED DRAGON OF BULLSHIT
After that, I can't keep any monsters in the field because it keeps killing them and I don't have any "destroy monster" cards because I don't have them and unfortunately, Speed Spells suck.

I mean, I have Cyber Dragon and all which has the same effect but Chimeratech Dragon (Cyber Dragon + 1 or more Machine-types, attack is 1000 x number of Machine-type monsters used in the summon) sucks without a Machine-dedicated deck.

In other news, Enemy Controller rocks and this is why Kaiba used it in that one duel. Where's my Speed Spell - Enemy Controller?

I have a trap burn speed world deck that literally crushes the AI in one turn :smug:

Uh both Lightning Vortex and Dark Bribe are unlimited

so, just getting this straight:

this is an actual dueling sim, not one of those crappy spinoffs they've been making for years?

(reminisces about eternal duelist soul and back before all this elemental sychro crap)

What spinoffs? And also these games have been in production...WC2006,2007,etc.

The mini game is actually good in this one and the dueling in story mode is very good at introducing newbies to the game while keeping the pro entertain enough...better than tag force 4.  :V
