It seems about half of my touhou games are no longer working. There have been no changes to my computer. I installed the new unl patch and it wouldn't work when I tired to open it. I then went to the other games and found 7 and 9 won't load past the 1st screen, 7.5 and 10.5 open the box but wont go past that, and 12 will open but not respond. The others work fine. I tired restarting my pc, unplugging my drive, moving the games from folder to folder, renaming them.
So I guess games can corrupt if you close them improperly or maybe they die if you don't play them often?
This is on xp, all patch installed, all English patched.

- are you opening the games and installing patches/copying and/or extracting files through Microsoft Applocale? If not, try using them through Applocale (or changing your locale to Japanese) or reinstalling with Applocale them if you're not successful.
- have you changed your screen resolution? Sometimes I'd have problems when trying to run the games in some computers, they would run the games only if they were set to fullscreen.

I have changed resolutions back and front a while back because subterranean messed it up b/c the English patch broke.
Now its at 1152 X 864. Changing doesn't seem to fix anything. The fighting game just seem to stay in windowed and not load.
I'm pretty sure they are set to full screen.
Apploc does nothing.

A couple of my games completely stopped working for no apparent reason (namely Touhou Labyrinth) and the only solution I found to work was re-installing them and creating a backup folder so they will be easier to fix the next time aroud.

Well re-installing is a last resort.
I tested one off of my jump drive and didn't work, but it worked else where.
Seems there is nothing wrong with the games themselves but my computer.

Found out its a problem with direct x. I think my computer is shot.
It has been 5 years with this compaq and I think its time to get a new one.
I don't know if re-downloading direct x9 will work or where the link to it is.
Reinstalled directx 9.C nothing.
