Title: GrimGrimoire
Post by: Shanghai Alice on December 21, 2009, 09:07:16 PM
Just got this game a few days ago. Good $12, IMHO.

It blends RTS and RPG together, oddly enough, and the combination isn't really that bad.

The plot is a simple "Stop the evil wizard" story, with... A certain movie thrown into the mix... *Cough* GROUNDHOG DAY *Cough*.

It's not exactly mindblowing or groundbreaking, but it's fun, cute, and a good way to waste a few days.

And, as an added bonus, even though it's a NIS game, no grinding or hours of worthless training required!

I have that game. I like it.
Main character who's name I forget looks way to much like Marisa...

Lillet Blan.

And, admittedly, that's one of the main reasons I brought it.

Never buy games during a Touhou High.

Which isn't to say this game is bad...

Same here x3
And we were kinda hyped over RTS when interest on the game piqued... not to mention their moving picture on skits! >w<

Adobo (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Adobo) Cat Advocat is my personal favorite next to Lillet <3

I still need to finish that game. I'm bad with RTS in general, and playing that with a controller makes it worse.
Bought it anyway because it's Japanese, the graphics are great.... and Lillet is cute. Vanillaware art rules~

Actually, does any of you have tips on how to play effectively?

I didn't try this game but I'll buy it if I see it. I like Vanillaware games, beautiful 2D graphics are awesome. The gameplay also looks fun and different.

Dragon Spam.
:V
That's what I did when I got the chance. Doesn't help forever unfortunately (especially when the enemy has sleeping spells...)

I think I like this game more than Odin Sphere precisely because the main girl looks like Marisa. People outside Toehoe will start blabbering how Harry Potteresque is but, you know, I couldn't take out that image out of my mind... I was half expecting my units to fire danmaku or having Wriggle, Cirno and others as units.

Granted, the game isn't like your average PC RTS but damn if it doesn't manage to work on its platform. Vanillaware artwork does rock.

In fact, how long until we get a Touhou Grim Alice Grimoire? There is a Disgaea coming, right?

I also bought this game because the main girl looks like Marisa, goddammit. >_>

I haven't had the time to play it yet, but I know for sure I will be a fish out of water playing. I'm not a very dedicated person, but I will try and beat this game at least once before I go back to my usual arcade games.
