Title: A Comiket 77 Thread
Post by: Garlyle on December 13, 2009, 06:07:50 PM
Just gonna point out that This Page (http://operationjaguar.blog100.fc2.com/) has a list of all known Comiket 77 game releases, and This One Here (http://vgmdb.net/db/events.php?id=66) lists all C77 music releases (Touhou and Non-Touhou).

...I don't know about you, but between what I think is Master Burner Climax's full release, the release of Touhou Fushigi No Dungeon, as well as Super Touhou Wars' demo release and what appears to be Touhou Disgaea... I'm getting kind of excited.  Anything catch your guys' eyes?

PS: I am so sad at no dBu D:

TWIlight INSanity's spin-off, Alternate Sphere, is supposed to be released at this Comiket.
Orange_Juice's new game Sora is coming out as well I think.

Demetori's 曼衍珠汝華~Nada Upasana Pundarika looks interesting :v

Shit, Sora is finally coming out? I played the trial version a while back and liked it a lot. Also, the SRW Alpha-themed Touhou game trial version is coming out.

Whatever that Maristice game is, it looks kinda cool. Also, they finally got to a boss battle in Hashireisen >o< I guess I'll give Master Burner Climax a shot too. yay new hard drive~

Just a reminder that the amount of C77 music releases will probably always be bigger than that list on VGMDB(we can only do so much! ;o;). I'll probably have a complete list on my blog, but whatever.

That's why I made sure to say "currently known" when I posted that link on the other board. ;^^

Currently, everything that's been announced so far is irrelevant to my interests. Maybe as the event draws closer.

Is that....Ice Climbers with Touhou....?

Ok, seriously, there already is Touhou Mario, Touhou Megaman, Touhou Pokemon, Touhou Tetris, Touhou Soccer, Touhou Romancing Saga, Touhou Mother and soon there will be Touhou Zelda, Touhou Street Fighter, Touhou Mystery Dungeon, Touhou Disgaea, and what looks like Touhou Phoenix Wright, and once there was a Touhou Mario Kart planned. There even exist a Touhou I Wanna Be The Guy, and I saw parody screen shots of Final Fantasy IV with Touhou! And now there is Touhou Ice Climbers?!

Why is there no Touhou Kirby yet?! It can't be that hard! We already have a pink glutton and a crystal winged psycho in Touhou! It SCREAMS for a Kirby version!

EDIT: Oh lookey here, there's even Touhou Puyo Pop!

There's already a Touhou Ace Attorney. Two, to be precise. They should be translated (and found).

If there is a Touhou Disgaea (or any kind of SRPG really), that would be pretty awesome. I kind of want to check out Master Burner too, but I don't know if my computer can handle it.

Tatsh has a couple albums coming out I want to get ahold of, one with original stuff and another with Touhou remixes. There was a jazz album by TLi-synth called Melancholic Road that seemed pretty good. Hatsunetsu Mikos has another album coming out that I'm really looking forward to, since they're one of my favorite circles. Might get the new EastNewSound album too, since I liked Lucent Wish, and I've been considering checking out the new Violin Rock album from TAMusic. Of course, I need to get the 12.3 OST too. And if THIS (http://vgmdb.net/album/16851) is anything like it sets itself up to be, it will be awesome.

Touhou Disgaea?! *drools*, demo or full version? And I still think the translation for Super Touhou wars wont be 6 years >=P. I mean labyrinth of Touhou got translated really fast. Have faith in the Touhou fans! I just wish I knew more Japanese to try and translate something myself. Alas I suck at learning languages

Labyrinth isn't anywhere NEAR as text heavy as STW would be, assuming they follow the format. Though, It won't be as long as an SRT by far, because we'll have demos to start from, assuming they don't change dialogue.  :V. And its probably an easier format to mess with compared to an SRT game.

Master Burner definitely looks nice. I'm interested. As per usual, Touhou 12.3 OST too if only for the final mega orchestral pieces and stuff they do.

I'm not even 3 hours in Mystical Chain and all these things are announced. Alternative Sphere WILL be released during Comiket. It's also announced in most doujin stores.

Same with eXceed 3rd Black Package in the loli Jade Penetrate  :V

I'm a bit sad that a bunch of releases are metal (or attempts at metal) and there is little of the rest... or at least it looks like that for now. Silver Forest comes out with what seems to be a Maribel/Renko oriented album, relevant to my interests.

TAM keeps churning albums and O-Life Japan is as elusive as usual.

Samidare is being re-released as "Samidare Archive" with mucho-mucho of everything. The game is good, guess it deserves it but I would love them to focus on fixing RefRain, which is plagued with horrendous bugs and ridiculously overpowered weaponry.

Another moment to put some publicity (=P), the multilanguage trial of the voice acting visual novel Koenchu Yonogi Seiyuu Story by the circle Zero Zigen (http://zerozigen.com/) will be released. It has english, spanish (done by yours truly!) and I think german and french on the works. So, yep, since it's not just in japanese guess it wouldn't hurt to check it out. There will also be a little album release, and it'll feature one of my songs coupled with a Hannya Shingyo.

No, as he apparently forgot to sign up for this Comiket.

Regardless, he usually releases his demos at Reitaisai though.

Oh God a Fantasy Quadruple Sword sequel, and the terrain graphics are way better.

Sir, you just made my day.

E: I noticed a few other people seemed interested.  It's definitely a sequel to Quadruple Fantasy Sword - Tenshi's Counterattack (lol same character sprites), which you could probably find relatively easily with the help of Google.

E2: Is the games link only Touhou?  Because I swear Rozenkreuzstilette Freudenstachel was supposed to get a C77 release, and I don't see it.

Ah, finally got the page to work with all the images visible. When using Safari everything went to question-mark land. Remember kids, always use Firefox!

Anyway, now I see why everone's so hyped about Master Burner: it really looks epic! And looks like one of the few decent 3D Touhous.
And holy crap, is that Touhou Super Robor Wars?! Alright, it was obvious it would happen sooner or later, but still, it looks great! Alot better than an other SRW Touhou animation I saw in which all the characters had oversized hands and feet.....

Looks like Utsuho is the main character of Touhou Disgaea. Does that mean she wants to be an Overlord? Well, she does have the requirements: badass powerful look, lives in a blazing hell and has pure, destructive, firey power in her hands. It also surprised me Akyu was playable. First time fighting for her, probably.

But it looks like Touhou Mystery Dungeon is going to steal the show. Alot of work appeared to put in to it. But that thing Reimu looks up to at the end of the 3D part....is that supposed to be a giant palm tree? Or is it a winged castle? Or a castle IN a giant palm tree? I can alo imagine the 'smack' sound all the characters make when using an expression can get quite annoying...

Gameplay looks similar to VP, and better than most indie RPGs I've seen. The whole thing has a pre-alpha feel though, so it might be the first or second build only. I find it unlikely that even a demo will be out this Comiket, or the next three.

It's being a pretty quiet Comiket.  It's not like there's a major Touhou release going on, even though the fangames look pretty fantastic, it will probably be a while before most of them are found by the western community anyway.

I'm wondering how it went for some of the smaller, non-Touhou circles... I just noticed the Cloudphobia guy lowered the price of the digital version to 840 yen. It simply became a must-buy.

Also, I wonder how more polished will be the Alltynex2nd demo. Come on, Siter Skain, you can do it! Release it in 2010!

Go look at the link I put up.  Someone found March Over Sky (The CD that has the OTHER half of the UFO tracks - namely all the boss themes, plus additional remixes of The Road Where Spring Arrives and Fires of Hokkai), so I uploaded it, and there's an awesome Cosmic Mind remix.

Also Kogasa's theme is now awesome.

Also: Adventures of Reimu.  It's a Touhou-ization of Adventure of Lolo and it's just as awesome as ever.

Alstro Records has been disappointing so far, unfortunately. :( Twilight Tea Room is incredible though, so that kind of makes up for the lackluster CD.

Haven't listened to much else, though. SYNC.ART'S arrange of Cosmic Mind is fantastic, and I still have both IOSYS CDs to listen to, as well as SOUND HOLIC. Still waiting for Silver Forest, CYTOKINE, and EastNewSound D:

Wow...

I found the OTHER stage 1 remix, and was wondering what you were talking about...and then I found Serenade at Midnight Sun.

Christ, I feel like I should be watching the Palanquin ship languidly flying, with Murasa stoically captaining the ship, Shou looking depressed at her Pagoda, and Ichirin/Unzan on top, scanning the sky as if looking for Byakuren.

No Nazrin, as she's probably already off ship, trying to get things done.

My PC runs on Japanese settings all the time anyway for all the doujin games and stuff, so that's not it. It tries to load and then crashes immediately without giving me any clue why, except the usual 'Oh no, there was an error' message. Oh well, bad luck.

Nevermind, installing the directX files that came with the game made it work. Why don't I ever try out the most obvious solutions first >_<

I suppose most people have been following the stuff that's been coming out in one way or another, so most of that might be known. But I'll still mention some more games that came out, because there might be people to find them interesting:

東方紅魔迷宮~Adventures of Reimu (http://www.banshee-soft.jp/): A puzzle game in which you have to collect P-Items to open the doors to the next levels. Trying to prevent your success are different characters that all act on certain rules. For example Remilias shoot you (with Gungnir of course) once you get in a straight line with them, Meilings only wake up when you have collected all items in a level and Rumias will fall down once they hit you to block your path. Also has a mode to design levels yourself.

東方ぐるぐる弾 (http://shima-neko.sakura.ne.jp/guruguru/movie.htm)(Touhou GuruGuru Dama): Yet another puzzle game, where you have to align coloured blocks in lines of 3 or more to make them disappear. The character art may not be the best, but the game makes up for it with nice voice-acting and Music-remixes by IOSYS!
Plus there's a story mode (intro video can be seen on the site I linked) in which each of the characters takes part in a puzzle-challenge issued by a mysterious [R].
There's also a nice case of Charisma Break in Sakuya's ending

東方遊宴世界 (http://www.emland.net/anime11022753.html)(Touhou World): Next up is a platformer featuring a large cast of characters that you can switch through at will. A strong point of this game is, in my opinion, the possibility to play it multiplayer with a friend. Other than that, I think the pictures speak for themselves as to what to expect in the game. (I couldn't find an official site for this one.)

東方SASA (http://www.hachikuma.net/Products%2FACT04.html): This one is from the makers of Touhou Soccer, so quality is assured. It's an action game starring the Eientei cast in which your characters fly and spin around controlled by the recoil from shooting danmaku. Need I say more?
Well, I could mention that the FIRST boss in the game is Nue o_0

幻想少女大戦 (http://www.sanbondo.net/gsw01/index.html)(Touhou SRW): Last one I want to mention, and the reason I decided to make another post here in the first place, is the long-expected Touhou SRW (the real one, not that weird other game).
Alas, it is only a trial version that has come out, but at least it's something. I can't say how long the trial is in total, but there seem to be at least two maps for both Reimu and Marisa respectively. Graphics, animation and music give this game a genuine SRW feel, especially the music is awesome.
Though I'm glad this game has no voice-acting. I don't think I could stand hearing all those fairies you kill scream, it's already heartbreaking enough as it is now ;_;
Oh, and the fairies' tackle attacks look absolutely hnnng~

Alright, that's all. Maybe you'll find something you like in there.

So many Touhou fan games came out... The amount of full original releases was ridiculously small.

Anyway, did the After Burner clone, Master Burner came out? Does anyone have any info on this?

Another interesting fact I found is that Paletweb and Himeyashop are officially distributing the Touhouvania and its OST for the people overseas. Nice detail.

The last time i visited I didn't know about touhou. Many missed opportunities.

But if I ever travel there again, I'd like to know where to find Touhou merchandise.

Specifically fangames.

perhaps a suwako hat while I'm at it.

Akihabara in general, Tora no Ana in special. That's where I got my stuff. TnA carries most of the newest (and also older) doujin games. And there's some shops dedicated to only doujin games as well, not hard to find (I mean, how could you miss a shop with a giant TV showing UFO Extra?). And for other fanstuff there's the Animate stores in every big city.

Well, they might show something different next time you are there, but I think you get the idea. You really can't miss the TVs, there were three of four of them (another one was showing Touhouvania for example).
Really, just go down the main road of Electric Town Akihabara from the station and you WILL find everything you're looking for.

You weren't much of an Anime/Maga fan back then if you didn't even visit there, eh?  ;)

"Hinting" isn't in the rules because it's assumable that you can't do it based on the spirit of the rule. I like to think our users aren't the type to play the letter-of-the-law game.

It's worth noting this is only a warning, though. No tangible punishment is going to be handed down unless you guys do it again.

I played the trial to that game awhile back and it was pretty fun. Guess I have another game to add to my ever growing list of ones I want to buy  :P

Darn and I don't live in japan. The last time i visited I didn't know about touhou. Many missed opportunities.

But if I ever travel there again, I'd like to know where to find Touhou merchandise. Specifically fangames. Specifically this one: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4qO7oVpqJcw&feature=player_embedded and perhaps a suwako hat while I'm at it.

Does anyone have a download link for this one? It looks awesome.

It's not too hard to find sites to buy the games from really. Just to name a few there's toranoana (http://www.toranoana.co.jp/), akiboo (http://www.akibaoo.com/02/main/), and w-canvas (http://www.w-canvas.com/). However just about every site that carries the games is in Japanese. So if you're like me and can't read Japanese you can just pay someone else and have them buy it for you. There's actually a member here on the forums by the name of N-Forza who does that. For your convenience I'll include the link to his thread below:

I hope that helps  :)

Well, they might show something different next time you are there, but I think you get the idea. You really can't miss the TVs, there were three of four of them (another one was showing Touhouvania for example).
Really, just go down the main road of Electric Town Akihabara from the station and you WILL find everything you're looking for.

You weren't much of an Anime/Maga fan back then if you didn't even visit there, eh?  ;)

I did visit akihabara, but yeah I was never an anime/manga fan or knew of touhou...now that I know of touhou it's a bit different.

Then keep your eyes open on your next visit there. You'll be surprised just how much Touhou you'll find everywhere  :D
(Oh man, talking about that made me want to go there again myself...)

I think those big screens are also there to give the poor devs a sense of accomplishment too. If you look at their blogs, they pretty much have at least one screen of Messe-Sanoh or Tora No Ana with their game being showcased (happened with Cloudphobia, Diadra Empty, PriZhm, Ether Vapor and many many others).

Plus it would be cool to see the reactions of people not used to bullet hell or shooters in general... UFO Extra being showcased might have caused a "heh, I think I'll stick to the doujinshi and arranged music" reaction  :V (obviously, the glorious "stubbornness spirit" might force some people to get the game and see things for themselves)

If I'm not wrong, Himeyashop has a blog where they portray news now and then as well as a Comiket report. It used to be in english although that one was shutdown?

Ok, question about that Touhou fan fighting game (the one in 2D with the cute sprites). Question for the people: what do you think of this one?

The UFO-TV attracted a lot of attention and the reactions of the people were quite funny to watch, to say the least. Plus there was that weird foreign guy watching the screen with a grin as if he knew what it was  :V
I dunno, if I hadn't known the games before I might have decided to look into them after seeing that, so that kind of showcasing might be pretty effective.
Oh, and I just remember that Tora no Ana had a playable UFO game on the Doujin games floor as well. I watched someone try it and get discouraged. That's be the mentioned 'stubbornness spirit', eh?

Wait, it's not legal to post a download of a Trial version of a fangame, is it?

 ;D at the comic.

As for your question, as long as it's a download on the developer's site that's supposed to be free for all, that's no piracy and therefore fine, at least I think so. I wouldn't use links from anything else than the official site though, to be safe.

Anybody tried Cirno Climber? I got a copy thanks to the wonderous powers of EBAY!
Anyways, the four player is nice, I always play as Remi, I refuse all other characters. My bro tends to play as Sakuya when we play. It's like Battletoads when you have two people though, you just fight with each other the WHOLE TIME.

I also bought a copy of Touhou SASA. It's nifty enough. You shoot fire and fly around as Mokou. Nuff' said.

Touhou SASA? Any link to the developer site? I would like to know how is this... Playing as Mokou is highly relevant to my interests.

Cirno Climber... Quoting House: "Interesting." Might have to take a look at this too. Developer site, pretty please?

Well the auction listed developer and publisher in japanese. Here's the webpage for it at least.

http://www.hachikuma.net/Products/ACT04.html (http://www.hachikuma.net/Products/ACT04.html)

The game is great, you can switch between Tewi, Reisen, Mokou, Eirin, and Keine. They all attack differently, and have separate lifebars. It's obviously based on Astro Robot SASA on NES, but this ones way better, has tons of levels, and only uses the basic concept of propelling yourself with bullets.

I played the full version of Alternative Sphere earlier. ??
The music was average AQ stuff, Stage 5 boss and Stage 6 themes were pretty cool.
The characters weren't that interesting, imo, except for
Aegis (Stage 5 boss from TWINS) cameo-ing before the final boss. She had a nice portrait :V
