Is there any vsync patch which doesn't require East Asian language support? Either that or following the step-by-step on using the vsync is causing me trouble and I am screwing up. Does anyone have a solution to that?
-
EoSD Vsync requires Applocale because it references the executable as 東方紅魔郷.exe. The rest don't need japanese locale unless you're running the japanese games, IIRC.
Are you talking aboutMake a backup copy of your score.dat files in case something weird happens.
Screw around with vpatch.ini to get the results you want.
Leave a copy of vpatch.exe, vpatch.ini and the corresponding dll file in your game folder.
Rename each individual exe file to th**.exe, where the stars are the game number,
except for EoSD and Uwabami Breakers, which must be named 東方紅魔郷.exe and alcostg.exe, respectively.
?
How exactly does it not work? What shows up on your screen? Vsync has been known to have quite a few different problem related to it, so it's hard to tell what it is.

Well, I have no idea alcostg.exe is supposed to be. So that part I may be screwing up on. Here's a picture of what it does.

alcostg = alco stg.
i.e. Uwabami Breakers Vsync. Remove it from your folder.

Get rid of th_dnh.dll and alcostg.dll, run the vsync patch with Applocale instead of just clicking on it.

Two files removed, same error.
Can't run Applocale. I don't feel like reinstalling windows. That's why I was asking if there were an english only version.

Try renaming the .exe to this : ?????g????
Yeah. I know it's gibberish, but it worked for me.
-
Wow. I can't believe it but that actually worked. Thank you so much Formless God.
Also thank you Drake and Baity for offering me help as well. :)

Oh, forgot about that. Yeah, even in an English locale, unicode programs will parse the equivalent ANSI phrase as a unicode phrase. Glad you got it working.

This thing is absolutely amazing. I was able to get to stage five on normal with 5 lives.
I proceeded to lose them ALL on stage five to many, many WTF? moments. Sakuya's knives have a much bigger hitbox than I thought they did and lost three lives and all bombs to those alone. The other two were WTF deaths to bullets that I just flat out didn't see.
Otherwise, this thing makes EoSD so much more enjoyable it's rediculous. :3
-
Don't even think of them as knives; they have a circular hitbox. You can see it if you look hard enough.
-
Oh... I'm glad it worked ^^ (I got the same error at first, but fortunately there was this ?????g????.cfg around in the same folder so ... xD)

here's a tip: the english translations are supposed to work with japanese locale anyway. I'm pretty sure every translation works like this, so what you're experiencing is a possible side-effect and not the overall purpose
edit: holy fuck no they don't what the fucking hell ugh
