So I got a copy of Unthinkable Natural Law and Scarlet Weather Rhapsody and my room mate and I hopped on netplay for a match after we had some practice but there were only like 1/3 of the characters available. I have already unlocked Utsuho and Suwako and both are available in netplay. I'm sure there is a way to get the rest of them, as I've seen youtube videos of a person using Youmu (who is not on our list) over netplay.
I want to play Inaba T_T.. help me please!

Right, to add the SWR characters to your UNL...
NOTE: In order for this to work, you must have SWR installed and your SWRS configex123.ini must have the following lines in it:

IIRC both players must do this.

I should have mentioned, I have them both combined and in arcade or practice mode all of the characters are unlocked and playable. We choose Netplay in UNL and we only get the UNL cast it seems.
Oh, and I apologize before anyone notices, I didn't see that there was a tech support sub section until just now.

This is fine and all, but... We choose Netplay in UNL and we only get the UNL cast it seems.
...there's no mention of your friend having SWR. If your friend doesn't have SWR "combined" as well, then you can't choose the SWR cast alongside for Netplay.

Sorry once again, I set up my friend's copy so it is exactly like mine, and he has unlocked Utsuho and Suwako as well. He plays Marisa though so it doesn't hurt him =_=

Right. That eliminates some of the problems then.
Not sure if this is related to the problem or not, but are you and your friend on the same game version for both games? (SWR and UNL)

Yes, they are both patched to the same versions. The only noticeable difference between the two is that he has beaten Cirno's story mode which I haven't, and I've beaten a few more arcade modes than he.

So from what I gather and assume:
- Both you and your friend have SWR and UNL installed, and patched to the same versions
- Chances are, they're probably the latest versions as well (1.06 for SWR and 1.03 for UNL)
- Both of you have Suwako and Utsuho unlocked for UNL
- UNL detects SWR, and both of you can therefore select the SWR and UNL cast in VS CPU, Practice, etc. but not Netplay
The only thing that might be different now is maybe one of you don't have a full SWR character unlock. But a quick test just then shows that you should be able to use the full SWR cast even without the characters unlocked from SWR.
Other than that, I'm not seeing anything wrong and it should be working properly...

Strange, well I'm going to bed for now... if I figure it out I'll come back and post for future reference. At the very least if I want to play Inaba we can just load up SWR because Marisa is in that one as well...
EPIPHANY: Wait a moment.. Isn't Patchouli not part of the UNL cast? She is definitely selectable in netplay as she is my 3rd choice after Inaba and Aya. Alice was playable as well.

Patchouli and Alice are a part of the UNL cast as well, so they're selectable by default.

*sigh* ::) I figured it out... after I set it up and we got it all working on my room mate's computer and before we tried netplay, he moved the folder to another location thus invalidating the path in config123.ini. All is well now :3 I beat him up with Inaba to make up for it~
Btw, are there any other wikis or combo lists available for this game? The swr wiki at mizuumi is down. I keep seeing this spell being used in youtube videos and I cannot figure out how to do it for the life of me. It is sort of like her basic strong magic but it has multiple shots and spreads. Mizuumi's probably the best English one, but if you don't mind Japanese, glasscore.net is vastly superior.

This reminds me of those stories where people delete their system files to clean up their computer or move all the files with the same extension to their own directory, and wonder why it's screwed up. xD

Charged 5C eh? Whenever I hold down C I still only get one :(... I don't know much Japanese, but I'm sure I'll be able to at least navigate the site
