I remember I didn't have a costume for halloween when I was young, so my dad bought me a Cat mask and gave me a white T-shirt which he wrote the words "Thunder Cat" on. He also drew a pretty detailed picture of (what think was) a lynx head on it too.
As of now, I get little kids to give me their candy when I tell them I can test it for poison.
The routine is a hit or miss, because some kids aren't as retarded as they look. (Note: some)

I tend to take my little sister out trick or treating; because she can pass for a yoof despite being older than some of the people here.
Last year she went as Retard Sarah Palin, wearing an "I'm with Stupid" button on the wrong side so it pointed toward her, and a vote for Obama button. Then we trick or treated in a predominantly small-town republican neighborhood!
There were enough people who didn't get it and unironically backed her. It was great.

My October is shaping up to be crazy WTF academia, and a mess of parties loosely concentrated around Halloween. Oh, I'll probably be plastered at Youmacon on Halloween. Also assembling some sort of trap costume.

Dude, at least you have an interesting ethnic holiday to celebrate. A friend of mine, who has since lightened up, once said that she didn't understand why people would celebrate a holiday of the unholy and had Bible tracts to hand out to any Trick-Or-Treaters.
I mean, dang yo, at least someone gives you a toothbrush, you can use that. But talk about outright ruining a holiday.

...This kind of thing almost happened to me once, when I moved from my old house 6 years ago, but it was a b more complicated... It's really weird looking back on it. There was a girl I really liked, but a buddy of mine told me he liked her too, so I told him that since I was moving, he should take the chance. He did, and they dated for a while... Until she moved hundreds of miles away herself. I still see her online from time to time, and it feels so awkward to just say "Hello," despite it being years since I really had emotions for her.

As for other stuff, if crossdressing bothered me I wouldn't do it. <_< I tend to find male crossdress and genderswap funny more than anything else. Female genderswap I can and do ignore. Female crossdressing I have no problems with and may even find it attractive when it's done right.

Anyway, that reminds, since Halloween in coming up, I need to go back to my nearest church and get a few gallons of holy water. It does wonders with a squirt and is a lot cheaper than silver bullets. Still, I need shotgun bullets for those zombies, they're immune to the water for whatever reason.
Also, I've never found a good way of managing the werewolves. Silver bullets cost too much and silver knives tend to break so I'm forced to pull out the chainsaw but that gets messy. Any help?

Funny thing, in 4e, they literally based the religions around real life religions (take that as you will) to appease that fundamentalists of all religions. The Christians weren't happy since that wasn't properly put into the game.
Another fun fact: About 50% of the people who are in Bible club at my school also are in the DnD club. Irony, ain't it?

Nah, you're not a bastard. To each their own, y'know? Sometimes some things don't need an explanation on WHY you like it, you just do. The prime tenants of BDSM are Safe, Sane, and Consensual, because it's an exploration of each other's inner sexual desires, not the ability for someone to simply cause pain and anguish. In a good D/S relationship, it's actually the Dom that has the hard job; balancing his desires and maximizing pleasure for his sub, keeping them safe during a session, and not crossing any boundaries. The sub, in return needs to be able to communicate clearly and effectively, and know their boundaries.
Some people just don't get off on the feeling of holding power over someone or having someone submit to them, and some people don't get off on submitting to others, being restrained or feeling overpowered. There are so many different sub/dom styles so i'm not going to get into it.
But yeah. TL;DR version: You're not weird, you don't have to tend toward either dom or sub. Just tolerate us and keep and open mind. ^-^ Also, you can still learn something from those books for vanilla relationships.

Interesting anecdote that may or may not be relevant. Senior year I had to take a course on data analysis in the social sciences - basically how to use SPSS to conduct scientific surveys. We all had to do a final project on some kind of hypothesis and prove it, or examine trends and put together a reasoning why the data doesn't support the hypothesis. Our data set was exit polls from the 2000 presidential elections.
My hypothesis: people who identify themselves as part of a cultural, religious, or ethnic group that is a statistical minority (e.g. black, Jewish, Hispanic, recent immigrants, etc.) are more likely to vote Democrat because the base policies of the Democratic party represent a bulwark against the excesses of individual power, through the idea of a government that protects its people rather than is as small as necessary.
The data didn't prove that, but it didn't prove the opposite either.

Any good BDSM book i've seen will usually have a good portion (at least a chapter or two)on just communication, in and out of a scene. You can agree on a tell which means 'more pain' or 'ease up' without breaking the mood, talk about it beforehand so you have a better idea, or discuss how things were afterward. There's a learning curve. You can start simple and work up to more elaborate or extreme acts.

I'm not a transsexual because I don't hate being a guy and I wouldn't go to great lengths to become complete woman, but I think I would have liked it better as a female. Though, do you consider it tougher or easier than the binary trans identities? On the one hand, it costs a lot more because of the options available to MtFs and FtMs, but on the other hand, they can, for the most part, realize their identities on the outside.

Hmm... I think it's not strictly tougher or easier. Sure, you have the option of making a complete transition and achieving unity of body and soul, but it's a rocky path and can still result in trouble post-transition. And for people like me, it's sometimes difficult to tread the middle road because the polarized groups will want you to choose one side, but there isn't as much dissonance having to live as a male or female, because you partially identify with that role.
My ideal state would probably be one of full androgyny, so I can express one gender or the other, or neither at all, depending on how I feel at the time. I'm not really masculine in looks, but i'm a little more masculine than I prefer.

Anyway, I'm fairly sure that I'll be staying a full-fledged male for the rest of forever. My desire to switch is kind of selfish, and if I did go through with it, I'd probably end up feeling bad about it afterward. Besides, I definitely can't pay for those surgical procedures... It's good that you know exactly what you want and what you're comfortable with. That fear of post-transition trouble isn't the only thing holding me back, but it's one of the bigger things.

I dunno what else to say on the subject of gender roles than what I've described about me. Gender is basically the outward appearance you choose to show society. We are designed as binary creatures physically and it's only natural to have 2 rather different "genders" and for a lot of people it's a lot easier to drift towards one "norm" than to blaze their own.
That's definitely the case for me. How I sum things up is I'd rather be a tomboyish girl than a girly boy, as I feel I can shift my identity over a little to match an acceptable "girl" than say stick out as a strange guy. I actually applaud people like Nobu who have the tenacity and self-confidence to be able to say "you know what, I conform to neither, and wish to be just me" and are able to live on the sliding scale of gender identity rather than fit into the notches like most people.
If I didn't have such a strong and vehement hatred of being a "manly man" and had the courage to just be me and ignore society's judgment, I'd probably just be a really girly gay guy. I don't outright hate having a penis, it's... a detatched indifference, kind of like an appendix. Something that doesn't really bother me but serves no purpose physically. Honestly what I get between my legs I would actually most likely leave up to my partner as really it's for their enjoyment =P
As for BDSM... well I'm terrified of bondage and I'm definitely not the domineering type but Trance has definitely enlightened me to it as more of a way for couples to express total trust and faith in eachother in ways just jamming it in don't do. And it has little to do with pain either, as I hate inflicting pain on others nor would I want pain inflicted on me. Pain and bondage may be the most graphic and well, most "unique", way to practice it, it's hardly the only way. I'm a guy and well, I'm fine with it, but I guess I never grasped onto the concept of masculinity. While it's absolutely unnoticeable in the way I present myself in person, I tend to lean a little bit toward the effeminate side. It's how I've always been, really. It's more noticeable online, I suppose-- where I tend to use more girly usernames and avatars and such-- but I suppose in person I'm more androgynous than anything. My voice (when I don't force it to sound more masculine) is often mistaken for a female's (especially on the phone) and somehow, I've been mistaken for a girl once or twice in my time.
Either way, I'm fine with who I am, I suppose, but I'd be lying if I never entertained the thought of 'what if I was born female?'. I wonder if I'd be much different compared to how I am now.
Bleh, I confuse myself wondering about these kinds of things more often than not. I am me-- isn't that good enough?

I know I'm a sub even without the BDSM stuff to tell me so. In my case, being sub doesn't stem from being overpowered, bounded, etc. This comes from my apathy of what others may say, or do, to me.

Gender has a variety of definitions, the generally accept Psych definition is more along the lines of 'the set of behaviors or role attributed to those of a certain physical sex'. Some societies have more than the binary male/female gender roles in society for intersexed, trans, ladyboys, whathaveyou. Gender roles are learned, sex is innate. (In that sense I think the term *Gender* dysphoria is kinda off, since you can identify as the female gender but still be content with a male body.) The concepts of gender and sex are very complex.
I'm sure there are avenues you can explore that allow you to surrender more and more of your power while still feeling safe. And hey, when you get to subspace you tend to forget you still have power. =)

There's the physical gender you have and the gender identity you feel you carry.
Example: though I, like all Touhou fans, wish to be the little girl, I'm content with just looking at womens' outfits and finding them attractive or cute (ask triangles, I have a huge thing for China because of her dress and Reimu's sleeves are awesome) but I have no desire to wear the clothes or carry a feminine gender. Blatantly stealing Keynes' scale of sexuality to adapt to gender, I'd put myself at 90% male, 10% female on a liberal estimate.
I do have one friend who is going through gender reassignment, male to female. It's not easy on her; I thought she was a guy when I first met her months before she was on the hormone therapy, despite a feminine face and hair. The second time we ran into each other was about 8 months later, and she definitely had breasts growing, she was wearing some makeup, and I knew firmly that she was a she.
Our mutual friend has told me about some of the stuff she's had to deal with. We're just careful with our pronouns around her. She's kinda upset that more people don't notice but I think she understands that not everyone notices initially.
I do support her decision, though, and while I'm secure in my gender and sexuality I personally see nothing wrong with questioning and exploring one's given physical and mental gender.

There's an important to distinction that needs to be made here - of the women I know who have rape fantasies, none of them actually want to be raped. And it's possible to roleplay said fantasy while fully believing that rape is a horrible crime.
The difference between rape and rape fantasy is vast. In rape fantasy, the "victim" sets the boundaries of what can and cannot happen. She can say the safe word at any time and her "attacker" will back off. It's a form of total surrender and submission to the dom, where you use the verbal and physical language of resistance. That's it.
Actual real rape, on the other hand, is none of these things.

(To start with... ehh, you don't see Halloween celebrations here. It's mostly an excuse to gather friends and drink. :V)

I can say that, the time I've been lingering on Touhou and their respective communities was an eye-opener to me. There is something wrong with you. Clearly you missed the part where I said "under the hem of the skirt." Zettai ryouiki exists in this fashion. Garters are different, they're worn UNDER the clothing, that's what makes them hawt.

Clarification: I'm not here to take away leg covering diversity. I like socks, I like stockings, I like garters, leg coverings for all! But zettai ryouiki with anything other than socks, made from sock fabric, is not zettai ryouiki and cannot be claimed as such. It's like how the name "champagne" is now restricted to sparkling wine made in the Champagne region of France, or how the town of Cheddar in England is moving to trademark Cheddar cheese.

These are my thoughts, and feel free to disagree, but I am of the mind that physical sex identity and gender identity are related but ultimately seperate. You can be considered very 'feminine' by society but be completely comfortable with your male body. And you might be considered masculine in your actions and behaviors and still desire a female body.
I'm not entirely uncomfortable being in a male body, but I would have very much preferred a female one. So I wouldn't consider myself a true MtF. And my personality and behavior has both 'masculine' and 'feminine' traits, so my gender is fluid.
But the key is, that my preference of female to male body are independent of society's ideas of gender. My gender is completely dependent on what society thinks, it's all just labels. If I go to a different society, my personality is not going to change, but my 'gender identity' might, just because they would have a word to better describe me.
So you ultimately have to ask yourself, do you feel dissonance being in your male body and feel like you should have been female? Or do you just feel like your personality and definition of yourself does not live up to the idea of being 'male', but you don't mind your body? Or both?

You'd be better off talking to a professional about this rather than us. Gender identity, if you sincerely feel you're having real issues with it, is something that needs to be addressed by people trained in the field.
But most important of all, do be happy with who you are, first and foremost, and don't think there's something "wrong" with you just because you psychological and physical genders might not be the same thing.

I guess that the easiest way to describe it not that I'm not at home in my body... It feels weird, even gross at times. I also carry myself differently from men in this society would, but it's just how I'm comfortable. People say the way I carry myself, act, and sound are very feminine, but I only saw it as teasing until around high school.
At the same time, I worry that if I were to switch, I'd get uncomfortable in that body too. Being comfortable as a male for enough time, as well as feeling like I'm over-idolizing the female body, I guess. And it's that idolization of the female body that led me to feel like I was just being a selfish perv.
I'd type more to clarify, but my roommates just got back, and I'm not really comfortable sharing this sort of information...

Yes my gender identity is separate from my physical identity. I have mannerisms and desires and preferences and things that are both masculine and feminine. I am compassionate, caring, empathetic, and emotional, traditionally feminine characteristics. But I am also very competitive, self-assertive, and prefer to lead rather than follow, more masculine archetypes.
But I identify female because in the end I want to be viewed as a girl in society.
Gender identity does not beget physical identity. For example Ruro has a more masculine personality but she still identifies as female. Dusty may be a guy but he acts girly. Gender is just a fancy way of saying personality as compared to societal views on typical male and female traits. Only reason gender really matters is because society for the most part is far less accepting of a guy who may act feminine compared to a girl who acts macho. Basically sexual identity is what parts you have and gender identity is what you want society to treat you as.
That's why there is a distinction between transgendered and transsexual. You may be completely comfortable with your body but have a personality and desire to be treated as the opposite gender in society.
Now as for my physical identity I also identify as female because I do have serious issues with my physical form, beyond just a simple dislike of my appearance. I literally cannot derive pleasure from my male equipment, but I'm not asexual as I do have a desire for sex. Just not as a guy.

Jan: You do need professional help to sort that out. Nothing's wrong persay with wishing to be a girl because they're hot and you derive sexual fantasies from it, but that's more transvestism/crossdressing than a gender disorder.
They're two similar yet very different issues.

Well it depends. You described feelings that are typically linked to either condition. Honestly I think you're more a transvestite than tg/ts. Just having a girly personality doesn't make you tg/ts, but what makes you tv is you mention interest in girly things in context of sexual arousal or pleasure.
Here's how I put it. Do you want to be a girl, or do you need to be one? Want is TV, and need is TG/TS. You should talk to Iori_E, a big crossplayer and touhou addict. You kind of mirror his personality and desires. He crossdresses and stuff all the time but still considers himself squarely male. It's a pleasure thing to him, rather than a need or a feeling of being incomplete or somehow not right. He just enjoys wearing girl clothing and acting like one for play.

I don't prefer either really so don't worry about offending me, but i'm just used to being referred to as a he. I suppose if I was trying to pass as a girl, or at least was in the role of a female, i'd rather be referred to as she. Refer to me however you feel is natural to you. ^_^
Mmm, my concepts of male and female are a bit difficult to put into words. I feel like I'm fluid and can 'switch', because I can be comfortable and act natural in a setting where my feminine characteristics are diminished and masculine side is more pronounced (which is how I am in certain groups). I can fit in in a lot of places as a result. But the less pressure there is to go one way or the other, the more androgynous I am.
Over here, I don't feel any pressure to conform to an idea of masculinity or femininity, so I guess this is me at my more natural state. :3 What do you see me as in your mind's eye?

After reading all of this, I don't really know what to think of myself! I do consider myself-- at least mentally/emotionally/personality-wise-- as much more feminine than masculine. However, I'm fine as a male and I'd never change myself as far as physical sex goes. As for crossdressing, I don't think I could even do that for fun! I've got my own slew of image issues as a male and I'd probably have a mental breakdown if I dressed as a girl.
Also, I'm attracted to females and I'm not attracted to males at all in a physical sense-- which I think also leads to more of my image issues because since I am a male and do not see males in general as attractive, I do not consider myself as such, either.
So overall, I just identify myself as a straight male with girly tendencies and mannerisms. Does that seem accurate, or am I more confused than I thought?

Firstly, on BDSM. I'm of the opinion that if both members of the session enjoy the experience then it's perfectly fine. Personally I'm probably a dom, but I can't say I have any experience on the subject.
In terms of gender, I'm strange. I'm a guy, and I don't feel out of place being a guy, but I've never really been very interested in sex with either gender. I have a fetish, yes, and I'm into girls getting involved in said fetish, but sex itself doesn't interest me.
Also...in roleplay, I have no complaints in playing the role of a girl, which makes me a little uncertain. Maybe I just get more interested in the scenario than the characters, and so I don't feel too bad about acting outside of my gender, if that makes any sense. It's not like I have any desires to be a girl or anything.

Sometimes I've wondered if I'd have been happier if I was born a girl. I just... Don't feel right like I am. It's like I was supposed to be someone else, but something got screwed up and I ended up the way I am.
I pretty much idolise the female body, and not necessarily in a sexual way, either. It's like... An ideal for me. I'm guessing that this is probably what helped cause my fascination with androgyny, and later traps and reverse-traps. And then there's the, uh, penis thing. To tell the truth, I, um, kinda find them... Somewhat disgusting at times. It's like it really shouldn't be there, like that dangling piece of flesh obstructs the body from obtaining the perfect sleek, feminine shape it should rightfully have.
Um... I hope that made sense... Like I said, if I remember, I'll go more in-depth about it tomorrow...

Here, let me make some clarifications and explain things before you all start questioning your manhood.
There are 3 things that combine together to give you your self-image. Your gender identity, your sexual identity, and your sexuality. Gender identity is basically your personality and how you present yourself in respect to societal archetypes of male and female behavior. Sexual identity is pretty much which parts do you want to have. And sexuality is who you'd like to plow =P
They're all related but none of them are actually connected or correlate to eachother. You can be very feminine personality wise but still identify as a straight male. Or you could be a really girly girl and be lesbian. Sexuality has nothing to do with sexual identity, nor does it have to do with gender identity either. They "seem" to be related because societal pressures tend to force people to change one or both of the others in order to match society's expectation of the "typical" combination. Hence why I may not completely hate having male parts or having female pronouns, I will get a sex change because of societal pressures against an effeminate guy, same with changing my gender.
As for the difference between transvestism and transgender/transsexual, my line about "want vs need" I wanted to explain a bit more. Transvestism is a fetish, not a disorder. You basically derive some sort of pleasure from dressing up and/or as the opposite sex but do not actually detest the state your body or presentation to society is. There's drag queens who have gone as far as getting sexual modifications like breast implants and stuff but still squarely identify as guys, it's not that strange. It just has everything to do with desire. If you desire it for pleasure, it's TV, if you desire it because you feel "wrong" somehow, then it's TG/TS.

Woohoo! I'm exactly the same way. =< I wish I were female, not in a "ooh that feels good~" sense but in a "gawd this sucks, this isn't me, I wish I were born different" way. Unfortunately, having a really screwed up life around screwed up people gives me quite a bit of a complex about it. I doubt I could mentally handle a gender change without having a partner's help. I'd probably become even more of a hikki than I am now.

Yes, it takes a hell of a lot out of you to actually make the decision to go through with it rather than just stick as you are. I debated that decision everyday but eventually it got to the point where the slow death of faking a person I wasn't was far more painful than the temporary discomfort of going the way I felt my heart was. Even then I had lapses where I would solidly make a stand for one then just lapse back into the other because it was easier and the path of less resistance.
It wasn't until my breakdown a few years ago did I finally decide enough is enough.

Why? The current techniques are perfectly fine. Only thing I lose is kid making, and steps to replace donated ovums with donor DNA has taken great stride. And it's not genes that do it, it's horomones that force the body to develop those organs. Google cAIS women for an example of XY who are perfectly female anatomy wise.

The surgery ain't that bad, it's the recovery after that gets you as you're basically bedridden for a week from exhaustion. It's hardly painful, it's just draining energy wise. And I'd be glad to be by your side when you go under :V

Thailand has a long history of transvestite operations that really works, but you must be prepared to find the best of them. Personally, I think it's not as much an actual larger percentage of LGBTs as much as there's more people willing to report themselves as.
Visual Arts culture is far more accepting of LGBT people than most other communities in the same age range. Especially within like gaming circles LGBT people are persecuted almost as much if not more than in real life.
I got laughed out of and persecuted from the Pangya community for being TS, despite it basically being an anime dressup game. It just seems like the attitude of gamers and myspace and frat boys and stuff are far different than the attitudes of visual arts people.

Anyway, I'm biologically female, maybe a little tomboy-ish but still solidly female in gender identity, and identify orientation-wise as bisexual but heteroromantic - I'm attracted to females as well as males sexually, perhaps even just a touch more, but not really emotionally much at all so, for example, I've got no interest in dating girls.
Also, mostly submissive and masochistic but with slightly switchy tendencies that get rather magnified in practice since my not-really-boyfriend is exactly the same, lol.

Sexual orientation is just attaction to parts. Being attracted to crossdressing guys as a girl or butchy women as a guy doesn't make you gay. Things get a wee bit murky when you start taking about TG guys/girls but I'd say at that point does it really matter?

I think most people could be considered pansexual, but more specific definitions lose the subtle nuances of variety, in favor of being more specific.
As for your specific example, I like to think of each preference separately and try not to overgeneralize. Really, the label is irrelevant if you know what you like and don't like, and you are able to inform others of that fact, even if it takes a lot of words.
I think if you enjoy both sets of plumbling, then you're bi. It doesn't really matter how "masculine" or "feminine" they appear.
The only problem with this definition is, again, it's horribly unspecific. Saying you're bi might make the wrong implication that you like both girly girls, and manly men, and you might not want to make that impression.
Then again, being 'straight' and 'gay' doesn't necessarily mean you have no preference on looks/appearance/traits as long as they have the right plumbing, so...

The worst we'll typically get is somewhat heavy snow, pretty rare tornadoes, and inconsistent weather from the lake effect.. all things considered, pretty nice.

I used to live in a small village in one of those monsoon howl zones, I woke up one day and I found myself drenched as I step off the bed, because the house is submerged, and for some reason I safely remain asleep all day. I lived with my auntie then so when my parents found out they wanted to come get me, but then all the roads are closed and we staved off salvaged canned peaches until Sunday, and it was a Friday when it flooded so we are on the roof. Good thing however, the water supply was accessible from the upper attic, which had the heater in it, we were able to sneak in, shower but wore the same shirt and pants for well over 3 days, wet.
Needless to say I came down with pneumonia, and the next thing was us getting our life back after the massive flood, we moved out said village. I wonder how did auntie lived there for 17 years...

-The whole state, home to a wide diversity of ethnicities, economic backgrounds, and sexual orientations, is somehow controlled by Orange KKKounty.
-Arnold Schwarzenegger, who's been governor for as long as anyone can remember, doesn't know anything about economics.
-There's very little water in Southern California so we have to steal it from Mexico via dams and irrigation.
-We've been ranked behind Arkansas and Alabama in average IQ. Public schools are among the worst in the country, and people wonder why our economy is in bad shape even compared to the rest of the US. No seriously, people actually haven't made the connection.
-Private schools are nice, if you like to overpay to drive your kids in the Hummer across the city to a corrupt school where teachers are underpaid and all quit after a year. And if your kids want to be disrespected and misunderstood because their public school friends label them "privileged".
-A large number of people eat ONLY fast food and blame it on being poor, saying it's the only thing available in their neighborhood, which is a bullshit claim, I've seen lots of healthy food that makes McDonalds look like a ripoff.
-There are almost literally no buses. The government won't spend a dime on public transportation.
-Everyone else won't shut up about how they think we have the best weather. In fact, having no seasonal variation makes things pretty boring.
-Celebrity tabloid news is unavoidable, no I don't give a damn about Britney Spears or Brad and Angelina or whoever else is on the cover, I would like to hear some real news stories.
-Also inescapable is gangster rap and the violent culture surrounding it. Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas is pretty much a documentary.

Don't forget that your state is not legally able to raise taxes without a super majority in state legislature, meaning it's also nearly impossible to fund anything. (Which actually feeds into a lot of those points!)

It really sucks. In elementary school we went of a field trip to Washington DC, and and we would tell people we're from California. And they would get this scornful look on their. And we were like, "Teacher, why is the tour guide so bitter?"

But if you want a smaller town, the area between San Antonio and Austin is all good. I've been through San Marcos, Seguin, and New Braunfels, they're all great towns.
I actually like the weather in Texas, the wind feels nice.
