Hello,
I'm a massive no bomb enthusiast. I just love that feeling of not having a safety net and having to power through every single spell card. My current no bomb achievement I'm going for is the first Seihou game: Shuusou Gyoku.
So, my question is, has anyone ever seen a Lunatic No Bomb run, or No Bomb Extra in Seihou Shuusou Gyoku? I can't seem to find anything about no bombs for the first Seihou game.
I could get to Vivit usually (unless the stage 4 boss rapes me and ruins a run), but some of her 1st form's attacks are so cruel, I'm ending up with no more lives to spare for the final 2 forms. 2nd form is easier than the 1st in my opinion, but some of Angel Vivit's attacks. . . *gulp*
As for Extra, I've seen a 1 Life Clear of it done, but never a no bomb run. Apart from Marisa ramming and locking me in ruining loads of attempts (some of her attacks are so cheap in this game), there's this particular card Reimu has where she throws several red and white yin yang orbs, followed by a spam of orange bullets. This card is really giving me trouble. Its the attack she keeps using repeatedly when she is shifted once.

I don't think there are any NB runs of Seihou games, given how barely any people play them (sadly ;_;) and they are actually quite challenging when it comes to survival; players are not given many resources to beat the game with. With only a few extends, doing an NB is obviously difficult. As a Seihou fan, I have regular clears of everything, but when it comes to NB, I've only randomly done an NB of Easy and haven't really tried anything beyond that.
Good luck on your no bomb attempts! And yeah the orange bullet spam pattern is really difficult, it's by far the hardest part of Extra. I have absolutely no idea how to dodge it. If you need help on other parts, maybe my regular clears of Lunatic and Extra can offer some help.
(Also, seeing a Seihou thread makes me so happy!)

thank you for your reply! Nice to see another Seihou fan also, as you said not many people play them unfortunately, so finding information is very limited.
Yes I completely agree about having really limited resources, you only get 5 extends! So far I've done no bomb clears for Easy, Normal and Hard with all shot types, but the jump between Hard and Lunatic is quite drastic when going for a no bomb run. If you've done Easy already, you shouldn't have much trouble with Normal :) Hard is a different story though. . . Lunatic then is terrifying.
Thank you so much for the luck, gonna need it haha :P Albeit being frustrating, it's still fun though, such an adrenaline rush. Indeed, that's where all my lives are going. I don't have much trouble with the rest of the Reimu fight, but that orange spam Reimu does is the match ender for me.

I'm too scared to play Lunatic Shuusyou Gyoku especially cos of the shitty rules in regards to deathbombing not working. I haven't even managed to 1cc it normally yet.
I do however have decent experience with Banshiryuu and would definitely be down to discuss that more :)
Seihou is very very underrated imo.

I would just like to post a small update. I actually managed to no bomb 1cc Lunatic today!!! I am so happy!!!! All that effort and heartbreaking failure one after another finally paid off! :D It was a very difficult road. . . ended up with no lives left against Angel Vivit. Very close call *whew*. Good luck to any others attempting this feat.

Congratulations! SG has quite a bit of rng in the stages and some pretty fast patterns (as well as not getting a lot of lives during your run) so that is pretty neat, I might want to try this out sometime too.

Thank you for the positive replies! I appreciate it despite the lack of evidence like video footage. Some day when I get a stronger pc that's capable of recording I'll do it again and post a link. If I did it once I could do it again! (After another bunch of failed attempts haha :P).
Zigzagwolf, make sure you use stage practice (replay function) on the later stages, especially on stage 4. Hitting a perfect on stage 4 in stage practice will help you out a lot when doing the no bomb run because you would have mastered most of her attacks by then. Last thing you need is her ruining a perfectly good run when you're approaching the end of the game. Also, try getting to Vivit's first form with 3 lives if possible, her 1st form is quite nasty (those lasers that fill the screen, and that flowery red and blue pattern), and Angel Vivit is no joke either (again with the lasers).
