Hello there fellow maidens, this is Shadow1176.
I wanted to start up the Anime Boston thread as a lot of the conmeido people (including me) are here to take part in the festivities.
Whether it be that you want to post pictures of what you cosplayed as (Obviously Touhou), or that you want to share con stories, I encourage anybody to share their experience here.
For anybody looking for my pictures and/or videos, I'll put them up on Youtube and imgur when I get back to Connecticut.
Happy days to you all!

I saw a bunch of you clowns eating burgers last night. Dunno if that one person finished the six lbs, 12 bacon, 24 cheese slice burger with a plate of fries and a pickle, though.

You saw us at the Eagle's Deli? Were you cosplaying? I was the Yuuka there. :3
Also, I got the Friday photo shoot pictures uploaded! Here they are if anyone wants to see them:

And the Primriver Trio videos if anybody's curious:

And the Saturday Photo Shoot:

And all of the miscellaneous Touhou stuff I found:

I never get to go to AB because it's always on Easter and that means either conflicting with family stuff or (more recently now) conflicting with MTAC T-T.

Oh man, so, I was there (in Threia Hazelgrimm Friday and just street clothes Saturday/Sunday, I was the girl in a blazer, slacks, and a cool hat), but I largely was either among the touhou rigs, or, you know, doing ALL THE ALI PROJECT PROGRAMMING. Long story short, I had front center seats at the concert, and caught a paper fan they threw at the audience, and proceeded to get that and a CD signed the next day, and found out Arika Takarano is the most adorable person in the world and should be protected during the Q and A panel. So, yeah, successful con. And yeah, I was at Eagle's, actually seated near Katie who got about halfway through the burger challenge before timing out (she states she was still hungry, but it was like 10:37 so the deli was closed for almost 45 minutes.)

Dusting off my old forum account to say Hey, I was here! I was Yuyuko all three days and had a great time! Don't have any good photos of myself, though.
Also, someone gave me a gorgeous print of Yuyuko during the con on Saturday, and I really want to track him down. I didn't catch his name (I mean he told me but I forgot it almost immediately), but he was super nice and I want to thank him again. He said he would be at the Gensokyo Radio panel but I didn't see him there. This is the print: http://imgur.com/Pz6ukrs
(if you're confused by my forum gender compared to how I look in person: I'm a trans guy. it's cool if you thought I was a girl, I was cosplaying a female character and I don't exactly look or sound very masculine)

Man. ALI PROJECT. I don't know anything about aniboston but I wish I was there.

It's really too bad to see so much of the Hynes on lockdown due to security concerns. That plus the limited number of entrances really slows things down. The changes and limitations of the Sheraton ensured that it was a chore to go back to the hotel for any reason. Also, there seemed to be a lot of middle/upper management staffing issues, as some reported the games room was supposed to open at 9am on Friday while others said as late as 3pm. The road show was not contacted in regards to bringing all their rigs until a couple weeks before the con, and then they were kicked around for the length of it.
The stuff that was organized by the group as a whole worked out really well, I think, but the hotel, con, and just general circumstances put a damper on the whole thing. I spent nearly the entire weekend in the games room and it was not misspent. The only negative I could say about the actual convention experience was that some of the crowd that hung around the Initial D cabinets were way too chatty for my taste. :V
PS: I gave up a lot of the stuff that I wouldn't be able to contribute much towards or would have to put in an incredible amount of effort to change. Sorry for being lazy, but it helped my mood immensely.

Holy crap I'm glad we split the group up this year and I doubt we'll go so late next year.

Oh that guy? If it was the guy who was handing out the photos, I got his name! I got a Yuyuko photo from him too!
Janyhero, on both Tumblr and Pixiv.

Oh, hey, we spoke on the train to Eagle's Deli. My apologies if I ever misgendered you, but I'm happy you found your way here!

Saturday's conga lines aside, I really did enjoy AB 2016, moreso as a way to hang out with the now-local Boston Touhou community and enjoy their camaraderie than for the actual event programming. I was also Saturday's ZUN, which was literally improvised the afternoon before (I blame another contact of mine who came from another community); it seems to have done the job. :V
As for that burger, IIRC there were actually 7 pounds of burger and some extra fries and onion rings to compensate for the cheese omission, due to Katie's preferences. Plus she was already on a ravenous appetite spree throughout the time she was here, including (on Thurs) a late American-style brunch (UK is credit to team for kickass cooking :P ), 10 pieces of fried chicken shortly later at lunch, and then an entire giant bowl of fatty pork ramen at a late dinner.

Yep! The burger was seven pounds to compensate for my inability to eat cheese. I wish I beat it; I'd have a dubious honor of being a bigger jump than the rest. I'll have to try again when I do not have braces. Ah well! I'm still most proud of Thursday anyhow. <3
