Title: Double Fine wants backing for something...
Post by: Raikaria on December 04, 2015, 09:00:39 PM
And it's something that people have been asking for for a long time.

Something which didn't get a sequel due to bad initial sales; but has been picking up fame since. It's a cult classic.

Psychonauts 2 is [probobly] happening (https://www.fig.co/campaigns/psychonauts-2)

This must be recent, since the forum I found the link on only had it posted 4 hours ago, and it's already over 33% backed [Over $1.2 million]. And unlike proper kickstarters or anything they're only looking for a partial funding. A lot of money is coming from other sources, which they describe on the page.

... I might actually back this. This is why I bit the bullet on Bloodstained even though I'm really really down on crowdfunding video games anymore. (Bloodstained and We Happy Few were the only ones I've done in a while and the latter is just, like, perfectly my aesthetic. And at least put a damn alpha out right after the campaign ended though I didn't back at a tier that got that.)

Gotta say I'm not very trusting of them on this. Granted it is of a game tons of people have been asking for, I can't forget what they did on their last projects. I do hope some good comes from this and they can learn how to manage their money better this time.

After the debacles of Broken Age and SpaceBase DF9, I'd stay FAR away from this.

Nevermind Tim "Sock Puppet" Schaefer in charge of this.

Interesting that you would mention that......
