Hey, I was wondering how to TAS Touhou games. Well, I just need to find
out how to slow the program down. I've searched on the internet
and can't seem to find anything.. Is there a thread for this already? If there
is, can I have a link to it?

I ussually find running two or thee of the games at the same time helps slow them down. Once I slowed down EoSD to 10 FPS.

But then you have a really crappy slowdown %.
Drakevision(TM) throws 0% slowdown and I assume it lets you play at whatever slowdown you want to.

The thing I have about people using untraceable slowdown methods is that I've contributed to a few cheaters here and there that I've had to bust, so I never just tell anybody. Also I have this nag about people using it to complete things that they're frustrated about and whatever; simply because I only cheat to unlock stages to then make beautiful later. But yeah, as long as I know what you're using it for.

I just want to TAS stuff for teh lulz, or something like that. :P
Edit: I don't really care about the untraceable part as much as a steady slowdown (10%, 20%, etc)

Use the Vsync patch to lower your fps to the desired level.
If your intention is to trick other people into thinking your skill is TOTALLY AWESOME MAN and you want a constant 60fps in a replay, then I won't help you. Sorry. I hope we can still be friends.

I doubt anyone would be stupid enough to make a topic asking how to TAS, and then afterwords try to pass off a TAS'd replay as legit. >_>

I TAS Touhou sometime, and i use a speedhack (Cheat Engine, MHS, ect)
The only thing i don't like when TASing Touhou, is you can't rerecord, so if you do Lunatic with one life and you die at the very last bullet of the last boss, you'll shit bricks.
Anyway, TAS are not legit if you compare that to non-tas, TASer only compete with each other or only for entertainment, so yeah, it is normally legit.
And like Slaves says, it's easy to tell when something is TAS

If you just want to control the FPS, I know a way. You can use fraps to make the fps go down to any number you want by going into the options and making it record at a certain fps, and then when you start playing, record, and it slows it down to that fps while recording. You can click the record button to start the slowdown and then click again to stop, and simply delete the recordings afterward. I tried it myself, it was pretty funny.

Nah, it doesn't. It always happens in my TASes.

I tried this, but it only lets me set it higher, not lower. Any reason for this?

I've used Advanced Game Loader to slow down IN.

You don't have to wait for VSync patches. Use Fraps.
Probably what I'd do to unlock TH13's Practice stages when it comes out.

I see a lot of people using FRAPS to slow down their games. Never used it for anything but recording replays myself, so I 'unno.

Oh lol, somebody decided to mark 'nut's UFO Lunatic 1cc as being Tool-Assisted. When it's not by my inspection.

Yes, but now take a look at the replay slowly. The game dropped below 60 FPS during the conversation with Nazrin for instance, and the conversation wasn't even sped through. AlsoSome TAS methods screw up the fps counter.

u can use fraps for TAS if u want...
just choose how many fps u want for rec and an active button
when u press the active button the game will go down to the fps u chose....
just remember to del the RECed video after u are done....

Done it twice. Both times at 15 FPS
. More specifically:

Both unfortunately, were not perfect.
Might give the EoSD version another go at a later date.
