Title: Indivisible Prototype: 2D Action/Platformer
Post by: Mr_Bob on October 27, 2015, 03:36:38 AM
Indivisible is the new IP from Lab Zero, the guys that made Skullgirls.
It's being touted as an action platformer inspired by Valkyrie Profile and Super Metroid, with the composer from the Secret of Mana, Hiroki Kikuta.
Indivisible is currently doing a crowd funding campaign on Indiegogo, and offers the prototype as a proof of concept for the game.
It's free, and on PC, Mac, and Linux, so anyone can give it a try. (https://www.indiegogo.com/projects/indivisible-a-2d-rpg-for-ps4-xb1-win-mac-linux#/)

Anyone else tried the prototype?
I was actually kind of blown away by it.  The platforming is solid and extremely responsive.  The battles are what you'd find if Valkyrie Profile used Active Time Battle.  The animation and backdrops are gorgeous, given it's Lab Zero.  The music is pretty decent, especially the boss fight.
It also challenges you, which feels like a breath of fresh air in the genre.

I've played it and I've loved it, thought the post-boss platforming for the additional content is hell. I'm looking forward to the full game, which is currently looking in question seeing that it's less than a third funded with nineteen days to go.

Also, Razmi~

I'm excited by and interested in the game, but the $1.5m is just too steep a price.

From everything I've heard about it, the $1.5 million figure is perfectly realistic, and they are being complete transparent as to where it's all going. The only reason Skullgirls didn't cost as much was because they had a good portion completed when the campaign started.

Once payday rolls around, I'm probably dropping $100 or so on it.

I'm sure it's budget-realistic, which is more than I can say for many kickstarters.

I just don't believe they ever had a shot of making it, which is evidenced by their being only funded a third of the way - which is sill an extremely impressive number in any other situation, but proof that a professional game studio should not rely solely on crowdfunding to make games.

I'm personally hyped about this... but I'm also worried about the fact of if it'll become a thing. Because well... there's 13 day's left and they're only edging closer to $600,000. I'm kind of curious if Lab Zero has a back up plan for Indivisible if for some reason it fails to meet the funding requirements.

Cause I'll admit... it looks beautiful and worth it... but it's going to involve really up a lot of support in a short time to make this possible.

The character designs are really great and though I didn't complete the demo because of bugs, I still want to support it... but I also find it a little... discouraging? That the crowdfunding seems to be not enough :ohdear: Every time they reveal a new incarnation I want to fund it more, but I'm slightly put off by how I'm not really good at the game (demo wise anyway lol)

The deadline has been extended for 24 days more with almost 2/3rds funded, so if you were hesitating now's your chance. It's not like you lose anything if they don't meet the goal!

Dropped $5 into this, now I can only pray  :ohdear:

1 million dollars! 500k away from the goal which is due in 19 days, and 505 games is planning to do a conference soon to mention this game to those that attends!

I went ahead and made my donation to this. I've sat down and played the prototype and have to say this game screams potential! I'm really hoping this gets fully funded. Cause it looks like it's going to get there. Just got continue bringing awareness of this. I'm certain Lab Zero will pull this off real well if they can get the fundings.

Less 400k to go and 10days to go! Way Forward made a deal with Lab Zero to have on of thier guest characters included in thier game!

Shantae Confirmed for Indivisible!

Tell me she isn't worth helping donate to paying 400k to complete the crowd source to make the game possible. We're getting close, but we still have a ways to go.

Also the demo has been released to Steam, and there have been some new additional perks to sweeten the deal.

Also come in a few hours from now, the Thunderclap Campaign to promote this game will be posted. So this is going to be one big rush to give it as much exposure before the deadline. I'm really eager to see this become a reality and with a huge guest character + tons of regular cast members, I can't see why we should pass up on this. So yeah... Here's hoping Shantae's confimation and the Thundeclap will give Indivisible to final spark it needs to complete the campaign.

I gave this a much larger chunk of money than I probably would have, because I think it's a game that needs to exist.

Let's hope it pulls through.

The Momentum is picking up up quite a bit.

$250,000 and 5 days to go...

Two Best Friends fan community are running a campaign to try to get.. "The Baz" into Indivisible which has been successful before when they did this for Shovel Knight and Dive Kick.

http://imgur.com/a/jf1Pj

And now to top it off we got introduced to the last guest character that they plan to introduce into the main part of the campaign....

Red from Transistor

This may become some very down to the wire final stuff. Because there's been some serious momentum these last few days. The question is will it be enough. Lab Zero is putting so much effort into making this game a reality. So I can't see why it would fall now.

Dropped a fair amount of money on this. I sincerely want this project to succeed, for a good handful of reasons. A desire to see 2D animated games continuing to thrive in this modern gaming era being one of those.

Still, $250,000 is a lot to raise in five days. Here's hoping it pulls through.

They are now less than $20K away, and the addition of Red almost made me want to double my pledge. Maybe I will in a day or so.

The pace went up nicely. It might be down the wire, but it definitely brought a bit of hope.

Right now, they'll need more or less 45k a day. If the rate they picked yesterday doesn't slow down too much (and jesus christ where did those 150k in basically 24 hours come from? not that I'm complaining), it is very likely that they'll succeed. Fingers crossed.

We're nearing 50k now. It's not going to be much longer before this game is fully funded.
The question that'll remain will be what kind of stretch goals will Lab Zero provide us?

They did say they had some in mind but most of them were going to be left in the dark till they were certain the game will be funded. We're about 3 days away from the end.

Also they do intended to have some kind of "slacker backer" thing setup to help achive some stretch goals even after the Indiegogo campaign is over. So even if not everyone can get in now, we might get to see some of the stretch goals be achive post Indiegogo.

And evneutally we'll get an public open beta demo of the game to test out and provide feedback in due time as well. (without any story spoilers)

Edit: And we're on the final strech! Less than 10k!

IIRC, I read something about an animated opening by a famous studio, but it was a while ago.

EDIT : FUNDED!!

Also boop, I figured. (https://twitter.com/IndivisibleRPG/status/671953139579228160)

Oh jeez I'm so relieved. I was initially worried the last 250k wasn't gonna happen, but it came in FAST throughout the last couple of days!

It helps that an additional new 2,000 or so contributors popped in recently.

In 3 days? That's a big maybe, that depends on how much hype can be drummed up on this before hand to get people to donate to it.

Otherwise, I project that it might be possible. So we'll wait and see. And even if they don't, we can depend on "Slacker Backer Fundings" to get to the goal post Indiegogo so we'll get this either way. The sooner we know though, the better. : )

Yup and now the 3rd and 4th Stretch Goals have been announced.

#3 Full Voice acting for all major characters. Projected goal is 2.05 M!

#4 Mutiple Endings + Extra Bonus dungeon that'll use incarnations only! Amount Unknown

If we're lucky enough the funding for the Anime Opening might be filled... or at least close to it. The rest however are most likely going to be slacker backer goals that'll be handled over the course of 2016.

Campaign end total: $1,867,860
So close, yet so far...
Oh well, at least we have an expanded soundtrack if they don't do a slacker backer campaign.

Raising from the dead.

1.9 Million dollars funded! The Anime OP goal has been completed!

Also while the anime studio hasn't been revealed yet it's been noted that Titmouse (for those that didn't know) is resposible for coming up with the storyboard for the intro to Avatar: The Last Air Bender.

If that considers anything, we might be in for an interesting opening. It should be fun to see how this progresses down the road.

Next goal is to get full VA for all major Story plot points

Funding Amount needed: 2.05 Million.
