Title: My take on Touhou story "arcs"
Post by: Failure McFailFace on August 16, 2015, 01:22:13 AM
Mostly just grouping the games together into semi-coherent overarching story lines:

Gensyoko gets invaded by other dimensions (PC-98)
Era of 1 game = 1 unrelated story
It was a Moriya Shrine Conspiracy
It was a Moriya Shrine Conspiracy 2: Religious War
Amanojaku Shenanigans
Some complicated plot because Lunarians

  • IN: Lengthened night by moon people to keep moon people out??? (Complicated plot? Lunarians)
The night was frozen by the youkai, not the lunarians (Either Yukari or Sakuya).

Yeah, the Lunarian trick was putting the Earth in a pot and painting a fake Moon on the lid.
So to speak.

Also pretty sure you can put everything from MoF to HM as one big "It's a Moriya Shrine epic screw up" arc, since they're all related to each other.

Really strange that you separate the "It's a Moriya Shrine conspiracy" arc in half, yet put UFO in the non-religious half.
