Title: Keeping Aero while playing Touhou (Windows 7)

Is there a way to keep Aero without letting it switch to basic theme?

It seems like there's a replacement .exe for Ten Desires to play it on Windows Aero though that's about it.

IIRC thcrap has an aero patch for the games.

Alright I've just tried applying English patch for Double Dealing Character via thcrap though, I have no idea how to apply "aero patch" to it...

There are source codes (https://github.com/thpatch/thcrap-tsa/tree/master/aero and http://thcrap.nmlgc.net/repos/nmlgc/aero/) for latest installments however I don't know what to do with it.

You shouldn't need the source code. Get thcrap from here (https://thpatch.net/wiki/Touhou_Patch_Center:Download).
The aero patch is one of the options available in thcrap_configure. For TH13 and earlier, you can use the aero patch alone. For TH14 and later, you can select both the aero patch and the English patch at once.
